We had a relatively good experience when the company first put on our new shingles (they look great, although they left a mess in and around our yard - picked up loose nails, etc for WEEKS). There was a major hail storm only a few months later - which caused damage to our shingles. Insurance company recommended full replacement - so we naturally contacted JML. They at first said they wouldn't come take a look without charging us (um.what? We got a free quote for 1st time we replaced our shingles - why would there now be a charge for the same thing?). I contacted them again after confirming that the insurance company can't use photos from the recommended company for a 2nd company - and they didn't even bother replying this time.

An exceptionally strong company who does a fantastic job from start to finish. They do everything right and are worth every penny. I have used them twice in the last 11 years and they are the best.

Jeff and his team did a beautiful job updating my roof, soffit, fascia and siding. My neighbors were so excited by the transformation they sent me pictures while the work was being completed. It looks amazing!

Would highly recommend JML, everything went well and very organized and professional from first meeting with Jeff and all contractors.would use them again if needed.

I had a 24x28 garage done by JML. Jeff and his crew were awesome and a pleasure working with. I am very happy with my garage. They were quick and efficient delivering a well made garage. I have and will keep recommending JML to all.

Jeff at JML was extremely helpful. From the earliest design, ensuring City of Winnipeg compliance, to the final inspection, we were impressed. The crews including Barry’s Concrete were very professional. Jeff discussed garage construction product options well. JML is most recommended!

Wow! Great work, great prices. I can't believe they put my entire garage up in one day. Finishing work and fine details are excellent as well. Couldn't be more happy with the end result.

I had my garage built by JML 5 years ago. The whole process was professionally done.
From getting the estimate, and every phone call from the office informing me whenever services were going to be happening (concrete, framing, electrical, etc).
I was able to phone Jeff or the office with any questions I had, I liked the fact that I could have someone answered any concerns I had over the phone, rather than dealing with emails.
I would recommend this company anytime.

Just got my garage built by JML. I will say the whole process went out smoothly. Everything went on as scheduled. Garage quality I will say is 9/10. There were some minor issues but was quickly taken care of. Customer service and communication was excellent (Thanks Michelle for answering all my emails in less than 30 minutes.) As per the comment below I think sometimes Jeff might sound grumpy on the phone but ow well all project managers are grumpy LOL it comes with the job.
Just one thing they need to address is they're concrete subcontractor, when he did the concrete pad there were no caution tapes put around the area and some sharp rebar and stakes was just left everywhere. This causes a concern as me and my neighbor has small kid that plays in the back lane.
Aside from that I am pretty satisfied with the service.

BE AWARE!
Quality of Garage built: Decent. - 9 out of 10. (with small issues but fixed quickly)
Quality of customer service: None. - 0 out of 10.
Here's the story.
JML offered competitive pricing for our 24 x 28 garage and they built it last fall by Nov 2018. However they left the electrical trench open (140ft long) and electrical wires exposed on my back yard. See photos below. So I got in touch with the company (it took me 6 tries) to let them know that the job wasn't done and I won't pay the rest. The owner called me multiple times where the conversation got heated, I had to fight to have them agree that they will come back and fill the trench in spring 2019 where I will happily pay the rest in full.
Fast forward to last week, JML sent me an invoice where they took off the charge for filling in the trench, so I was confused and emailed them back to ask if this means they won't be filling the trench as they promised. At this point, we've signed a landscaper to come in and complete our backyard where they offered to fill it in for us for free. JML charges $350 on their invoice to fill it. I emailed and asked if they are not going to come back then I will just pay for it without the trench cost ($350) and we can be over with. I asked nicely in my email.
Only a few hours after my email, my phone started to blow up with the owner trying to call me. I am at work, in back to back meetings, and he called almost every other hour. I emailed and texted him to let him know I would prefer them communicate via written forms. That's when he started to really shock me with his attitude.
He told me that my trench was just filled today which surprised me. I had no communication from JML of when the trench will be filled, I had no clue that they will be coming on the same day, and my email was sent before they let me know about this. To my surprise of the job was suddenly completed without my knowledge, the owner immediately accuse me trying to not pay them even-though they did their job.
That's very fishy business conduct, don't you think?
Worst of all, when I responded to the owner via text, he told me he is very busy and he'd prefer to talk on the phone instead. At this point I have lost all my respect because it seems to me they are trying to communicate in a way there they cannot be held accountable later for things said. So I insist on written communication, and after my 2nd text there was no response back. Rather I find an updated invoice in my mail box this morning for the full amount. No apology about their attitude or in any effort to repair this relationship.
With that, I paid them in full, and decided to write a detailed review to warn all the customer out there. I attached all the convo below for you to see for yourself.
Honestly, their workmanship is decent, the price is decent. BUT, the amount of pain and anger I had to go through with this business is unacceptable. I am a simply home owner who cares about my property and wants things done as promised, they have 0 communication skills nor demonstrate any care for their customer once you pay your deposit and the job starts.
I would not recommend them, the struggle is not worth the savings they provide. I've dealt with multiple contractors from building our fence, deck to garage, even the companies who quoted us but didn't get hired provided better service and care so I would consider them for the future.
JML claim to be in business for years, I am curious to see how many more years they will have if they keep treating customers like this.
