We were hired to remove snow from a large shopping (garden city) center by James at j ross const one year ago and never been paid.called and visited
his office to get paid. He acknowledged the debt and has not paid us.

JR Ross dumped concrete rubble on our property by mistake, they agreed to remove it. 5 months later after repeated calls, voice messages, texts and emails ZERO response.

The crew that has been in Portage la Prairie redoing all the sidewalks are phenomenal. Quality work, they put in long days of hard work in the hot sun.the attention to detail including blowing and sweeping the road clean has been great.very professional company for municipal infrastructure work.

Pulled up grass from our property while clearing snow. Knocked over our plant pots with their machines. Would not recommend.

Huge shout out to James. While cleaning commercial properties in residential areas; many companies use adjacent lanes, roads and sidewalks to dump their snow, leaving piles and ridges for us to deal with. We appreciated the effort you went to, taking away some of the accumulated snow, giving us room to manoeuvre during the next dump. Happy to recommend you.

Can’t believe these negative posts about snow clearing! People are extra mean out there lately. I usually don’t write reviews but came on here out of curiously because jross was at our condo this morning. They showed up while it was still snowing and no doubt will need to do our condo twice but they consistently give us great service, even though I’m sure these huge snowfalls are vicious! One guy even helped me dig myself out of the back lane when I got stuck last year. So I just wanted to say thank you and cheers!

Very unprofessional employees, poorly managed. It has not snowed in weeks but they came today for the fourth time since it last snowed to scrape the pavement down further and cause more damage. Driver was operating machinery backwards at a high rate of speed in a busy parking lot.

Recently moved into a house where JRoss is responsible for doing the snow for the back lane. They have used half of my parking pad for snow so that I cannot use it. Assured many times by Bonnie it would be dealt with and 3.5 weeks later they are still adding snow to the snow bank on my parking pad. Unacceptable. It is causing issues for those with mobility issues who are trying to come/ go.

Poorly managed company, extremely difficult to deal with. Had an extremely difficult time getting outstanding bills paid

Was hired at this company through labour ready. Awful. Have requested to never go back. The employees i was placed with were rude and unwilling to help. Made fun of our crew the entire time. Owner never came to introduce himself and didn’t seem at all friendly. They’ll have a hard time finding labourers when they treat them so poorly.

UPDATE FINAL: transaction complete! The owner planted a new healthy linden and all looks great. Much appreciated and very happy with our 2x trees. Now a 5/5 star rating.

UPDATE 2: as promised the owner responded to my Jun 2020 email immediately. It was determined the linden was in fact beyond saving and will be replaced as soon as another linden becomes available. The improved 3/5 star rating should be viewed as under review and I will update when the new tree makes its arrival. Thanks.

UPDATE: the owner reached out and is willing to discuss whether the linden tree is salvageable once spring arrives and I appreciated the effort. Multiple attempts to contact regarding a tree that had been planted on our property. It did not look good from the beginning and I wanted some help. No response, nor any comments. Very poor service. The fellow we met with seemed straight up, but after payment never seen again. The ball is in their court to correct. Not recommended.

Disappointing service. Unfortunately a resolve could not be met as the owner has the temperament of a child.

Great experience working with JRoss! They are very responsive, professional, and show up when they're supposed to! The work itself is also superb, and the pricing is good as well. Overall great experience!

Fairly prompt service, and keeps our parking lot clean. Could have shown up earlier in the week in a few cases, but there were some heavy snowfalls this year that couldn't be kept up with.

Professional quality and service. I would highly recommend JRoss Construction for landscape projects of any size, as well as, concrete and asphalt installation. Integrity is at the core of everything they do.

I had James with JRoss install a patio and some vegetation in my back yard. His knowledge of the industry was impressive and the quality of the brick work has held up wonderfully. I was also very impressed with his knowledge of plants and his artistic ability when planting them. He gave me some advice on yard maintenance as well. An overall A+ experience.

As a Property Manager I have regularly used J. Ross Construction & Landscaping for my properties and am very happy with their professionalism, continuity and great job for both snow removal and landscaping. I would highly recommend them to anyone requiring their services.

Went through many landscaping companies before JRoss. Very happy with the quality and consistency. Wish I found them first.

Did some work with James back in october and everything was perfect.found him really professional and glad we chose him for our building's exterior concrete.

We hired JRoss to landscape our commercial warehouse. They were very efficient and cost effective. We are very happy with the end result.

Whoever was driving their truck today was driving so terribly that they almost ran me off the road. Speeding and slamming on their brakes, weaving in and out of traffic, cutting through a parking lot. Definitely made me know who not to choose for construction and landscaping! Best advertisement ever.

This is now the THIRD run in I have had with the owners mother, who believes she is entitled to take up 4 parking spots using a company truck! When confronted, she brushes it off and laughs and tell me to go ahead and call the owner. Very disrespectful to others. If you’re going to allow people to use your vehicles, teach them some damn respect!

JRD did a massive job for us in an incredibly short turn around. James is the best at problem solving and his workers and network of subcontractors are all talented, professional and dedicated to their crafts. There is no better landscaping company in Winnipeg for turning your conceptual project into a reality. Fair pricing. Friendly service. On the job attitudes all around.
