Jumbo Pizza

In the heart of peg city downtown there this lil site on balmoral may not look much but its well known city wide, famous and infamous Jumbos start out as 3 for 1 deals not it's hot wings amd chicken are to die for

Before I get to the reason behind the 1-star review, I will talk about the food. Baker's Pride has always been my go-to choice. It used to be one of the best pizzas in Winnipeg, especially considering the price. Over the years, it has gotten gradually worse. In its current state, it is a sad shell of its former self. The dough is a soggy mess, which is not at all surprising, considering the amount of sauce they pour on it. One would think that the more toppings, the merrier, but they put such a ridiculous amount that it looks more like nacho dip than a pizza. And they charge more now for this sad excuse for a pizza than a few years ago when it was still decent. The only reason I still give it a 3-star rating for food is that you can salvage the pizza by putting it in an oven toaster. Ideally, you would fry it on a cast iron pan, covered by foil for the crunchy crust. After having to finish their job of cooking the darn thing, it becomes edible enough for a 3-star rating.
Now, to the reasons behind the 1-star review. We have ordered two medium pizzas and a 2-litre pop deal for $30 today. We walked there, paid for it, picked it up and went home. Once we got home, we realized that one of the pizzas was Tandoori Chicken instead of Baker's Pride. We gave them a call, and they asked us to bring the wrong pizza back for a replacement. I had to go all the way back and return the pizza to fix their mistake. I walk into the store with the pizza in my hand and have an encounter with a hobo standing by the counter and scratching his sack. He reaches for the pizza with the words "Free pizza", which I ignore and pass the pizza to the front worker instead. She silently accepts it, and after a short pause, asks the hobo whether he wants a free pizza. He, of course, says yes, and she just hands it to him in front of my amused face. Hey, good for him – he was in the right place at the right time, I guess, and can carry on with scratching his sack in front of other people with a full stomach for another day. A side note: nobody even said sorry to us at this point. I wait for about another 5 minutes, and another lady, at last, brings me the correct pizza, and I also finally hear the word "sorry" for the first time. I ask her to explain the logic behind their charity towards non-paying customers while lacking any compensation for the time wasted by their paying customers due to their staff mess-up. She simply keeps replying okay without any actual answer or interest in listening until I leave the store.
To sum up our experience today: they gave us the wrong pizza, made us go all the way back from home to return it, then gave it to a hobo for free right in front of my face, and have not compensated us, the paying customers, for the inconvenience in any way.

Food was good as always. A late night snack 2 slices n a piece of chicken. It's take out as there is no tables

Very rude if your lucky pizza dough is cooked properly they hang up on people if your not fast enough and i had to yell at a women who works there for my food (the one with the glasses abd ponytail) for my son cause he was hungry i paid the guy told me to wait i later asked the women for my chicken to feed my boy and she said no that i can wait and she wasnt doing nothing but standing there i yelled her for my money back the man came over to mw abd gave me my food even though i wanted a refund he kept insisting i take the food when i clearly wanted my money back after poor treatment they are always rude to my mother when she goes there also its the same women even before this happened

I am Very upset we ordered from them and when they delivered we give them a old hundred dollar bill that we got the day of and they didn't accept it after we waited and hour and a half and when we called the lady on the phone she was being very rude we ask for her name and she was getting very triggered and hung up I felt like we were being discriminated against because we are first Nations and they were assuming our money was fake even tho it was legit I miss the old owners I never been treated like this before

The people there are very disrespectful, and rude, they ignore you and the restaurant has disgusting very dirty, and they make up their on prices, beware they well charge more then the actual price, slices of pizza is now 2.50.

Great pizza, there wasn't a line just us however the young lady was on the phone and other things and we stood there waiting a good 5 -6 mins at the counter in front of her before we were even acknowledged.

Ordered a pizza for delivery it took over an hour to come here and got the wrong drink the driver told me to live with it and drove away the pizza was cold and looked like it was just tossed together not very impressed

If you don't mind the location and strange people you come across. The slice of pizza is yummy and great if you're on the go and need something quick to eat.

Great deluxe pizza. Not too much crust which is key IMO. Pizza sauce nice amount… good experience

Excellent food for the price, highly recommended if you want something good and fast; there is no dine however. There is occasionally beggers here so be wary of that and try to just use debit or credit if possible especially considering the area Jumbo's is located, overall a great place.

They have combo meals which really helps.but let's be real it's those damn WINGS they are some of the best munchies food I have ate across my travels.spicy warms your lips craving them now but im all the way in the states (send recipe) lol but definitely one of my favorite spots.my friends put me on this one.shout out to my Indian friends who gave me a great experience when visiting your city.

Tried to order pizza. They hung up on me because they were being impatient to hear what my number was. Super rude about it.

Then I called again to make an order they told me it would be an hour, fine but they were not listening again and being rude. I decided to just call back because I don't want to eat food from people who seem angry (seems unsafe) but they kept hanging up on me. I think they were trying to avoid my meal cancellation and send it (probably late) anyway.

I finally got through when calling from a different number to cancel it.

Miss the old owners and ppl who used to run it.

This pizza makes me feel like I got ran over by 10 semi trucks after eating it and I'm currently wanting to throw up due to heart burn. It's good though so it's a 5/5 and worth the pain.

ZERO STARS. Rude people. My wings were soggy and cold when they arrived. We called to get a refund and they would not refund or bring us a new order. They refused to provide me with the managers name or number and hung up the phone on me. That is not how you run a business. Disgusting service!

Worst pizza place by far, food took 3 hours too deliver, pizza tasted like pis* the drink was flat and didn't get the topings right
Plus the pizza was cold.

Really really bad customer service. Also the delivery driver tried to rip me off and put in a different price than I was told on the phone. Lucky I caught it and corrected it.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! The ladies are rude to customers and no sign of professionalism at all. They act as if they own the place. I humbly recommend to go to other pizza place. There are far more better than this pizza parlor.

Always good and reasonably priced. Had XL Baker's Choice. My favorite pizza joint. Except for fact a woman came in.and asked me for $ and then grabbed $20 right out of my hand. Owner gave me my pizza because of this incident. Thank you btw.

I ordered it very 1st time and everyone loved it. They made a real good piiza.

I will definitely order again and again from jumbo pizza. The quanty was apposite, well cooked meat, and well done crisp pizza base.

Usually, when I order a XL pizza, I would have some slices left for the morning but this was finger licking good, an exquisite dish, and was all consumed.

I am impressed with their pizza and I tell all my friends to order from them.

Very poor customer service. I would have rated 0 if there was an option, owner is so rude and doesn't know how to behave infront of a customer. Pizza was soggy, will never recommend to go here.

Their pizza & wings are great, they lack in customer service at front desk, they need to chop chop and their interac debit machine is so slow

I always pay cash because their debt machine won't let u decline tips. The pazzia is delish.

The pizza is good. But the potato wedges are the best I have ever had. The panhandlers out front are fun entertainment while waiting too

Best pizza in the city. The bacon pepperoni is my favorite, especially if it's been sitting in the turn about heat thingy.

Wow.ordered pizza from there and it was 3 hrs late not to mention when we called to ask where it was they told us it would be there in a minute 20 min later I called back they then told me another 15 min. Ans she would give us a discount guy finally got here our bill was 39.00 she just wanted to give us 3 bucks off and the delivery guy tried handing us his phone told him it's covid not touching it. Just send it back 3hr and 10 min that was ridiculous

Love the pizza and wedges, the staff's alright they're pretty laid back but attentive. It's a cool little pizza shop in a convenient location.

I wanted to try a new pizza from a new place, this pizza is equivalent to 99 cent pizza, it was floppy and greasy.not worth the money i paid threw skip the dish, = 25 dollars.

One of the best cheap pizzas in the city, butter chicken pizza is da bomb

Jumbos is the best meat lovers specials and the chicken fingers they load you up and the price is good delivery is good and fast

Jumbo hasnt changed, although it has changed hands a few times through the years.different owners/mgmt yet the same great pizza!

The wings was so good before but now it's just awful. They put those spices on it, spices with Honey wings are just awful. Please let me know when you do the wings right again and I'll buy again. But pizza is great

I have never left a review for anything, but Jumbo Pizza's tandoori chicken pizza is so good I have changed my ways. Oh my goodness. Just try it. Also makes a great breakfast.
