Komodo Chinese Restaurant

This place is take out only but I do hope that changes when the construction next door is complete (there is an apartment building being erected that makes finding this place and parking very difficult. However that is beyond the restaurants control). Otherwise it is well located in Windsor Park in a shopping mall area not far from the United Church. Their food is fresh, hot, and the portion sizes are more than reasonable. I particularly liked the vegetable fried rice. I was a touch disappointed with the chop suey as it didn't have that hot wok smokey flavour but this is a small detail since it was still fresh and good. The young woman working the till was very friendly and accommodating. We also ordered the sweet and sour ribs which were delicious. The sauce is clearly home made and is probably the best sweet and sour sauce I have come across. Nice and sticky, deep red in colour, sour as it hits the tongue but quickly turns to sweet. Delightful! The wonton soup is good but a bit of a bland broth. I prefer the rich chicken or pork broths instead of the consomme broths. Not sure what this one is but it is darker in colour. As I said its okay. Just not exciting. My final dish was a chicken chow mein which also was very good. The noodles were nice and sauce and the vegetables hot and crisp. It's worth trying this place out. I will definitely order from here again.

We’ve ordered from here twice in the past month and definitely will be again! Food is fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. Great portion sizes and wonderful service. The construction outside has been awful, I imagine it has put a damper on their business so don’t let the little bit of inconvenience scare you away! They are well worth it.

We ordered here for the first time last night. It’ll be our new go to place for take out! The food was hot, delicious and had great portion sizes. Everything is very reasonably priced and the service was fantastic.

Loved the food. Had the chicken fried rice (was good), lemon chicken (really liked, not so much breading. Almost like a fish batter), curried shrimp (absolutely delish), and the Cantonese chow main (also very good). Only sad part is they are not very visible due to construction of apartments out front. Construction company has seen fit to put a very large roll on/off bin in front of the restaurant. No fault of the restaurant.

This was the first time we ordered take out Cantonese food from this restaurant and it was fantastic! They made sweet and sour fish especially for my wife that was not on their menu. So hospitable and accommodating. The chow mein was a revellation. It was not greasy at all! My daughter loved the wonton soup which was divine. They gave us free rice and soda too.

Was not impressed with the sweet n sour sauce, tasted like it came of out a box.definitely not ad good as I'm used to from done other places.the rest was good

This is our go to for Chinese pick up, family owned.price is just right, and portion and taste of the food is decent. You will have to try this little place!

First time trying Komodo. Loved it and will definitely be back. Food is delicious, and large portions!

We had our food delivered. It was 15 minutes earlier than anticipated. The price is super good, excellent value. Portion sizes are very good, on the bigger side.spent about $80 and got a few things free, stuff they just threw in which is perfectly fine with me, very appreciated.

I have to give it a 5, not because it's a 5 star quality restaurant, but because it's better than 99% of Chinese places in Winnipeg. The quality of the ingredients is better than most places, the food is great, and the people that own it are very nice and go the extra step for their customers. Would recommend.

2022 updated. Having seen other reviews decided to try again in Sept 2022, much improved, all dishes were well done, and I would say as good as 4 seasons in most cases, without the long waits.
Not surprised to see it's changed owners. It was great before but we have tried it a few times and not going back

Absolutely AMAZING Chinese food! My in-laws ordered for Christmas supper. Portions were huge, food was very tasty! Probably the best Chinese food in the city!

We have been customers of Komodo for years. The food is full of flavour and the containers are always very full of delicious, hot food. They accommodate my modifications and the people working are friendly and are able to provide recommendations. I recommend trying Komodo for yourself!

We typically order and love Golden Chopstick but decided to try Komodo.fantastic.everything was excellent

Order take-out from here always good, always ready quick, never had a complaint. Price is very reasonable.

I gave them another chance recently after not eating there for a long time. They're better than I remember, but not as good as they used to be.
