McMunn & Yates Building Supplies

I have never needed to shop anywhere else for my building supplies. A great company and this store location in Winnipeg has always been my go to. I recommend anyone to give this place a visit and your business. The staff and managers should really be proud of themselves!

Had a great experience at this location. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, were able to answer every question I had. Will be coming back for every reno i do in the future!

I had an amazing experience here. They really rolled out the red carpet, needed supplies for my new decking and could not find my way around but asked for help and the staff swiftly pointed me in the right direction and even gave me a few tips, shame only 5 stars 10/10 will be coming back again!

10/3/23 I have been purchasing building supplies here for the past 3 weeks as I'm doing an extensive renovation. I went to purchase some drywall and screws. When I picked up the box of screws the price on the shelf said $5.59 each. I know that wasn't the correct price as all other sizes were priced per pound. I mentioned to the lady at the check out to bring her attention and said that by law if I wanted you would have to sell it to me for the marked price. She said no we don't. Then another associate came out and she mentioned to the lady about the price difference. I didn't pursue the mistake at the store. All I expected was a thank you but couldn't get that out of your non helpful, incompetent, lack of customer service staff.

Thank you to McMunn and Yates for the outstanding customer service they provided not only me, but several of my neighbors! We built a pergola, and deck for our back yard, McKinley was so professional, and helpful. Our delivery arrived on time, the drivers and unloaders were so polite, and kind. We were so happy with our projects, our neighbors all came together to do 4 houses of fencing. The prices McMunn gave us could not be beat by the other stores we shopped as a group. The quality of the lumber was top grade! Thanks for all the amazing service, and love to our community!

Staff were not only helpful but very knowledgeable with the questions I had. I over heard the manager talking to an upset customer about an item they had purchased and he had not only de-escalated what could have been a bad situation with calm understanding but had the customer leaving with a smile.
Felt like a team atmosphere.

My go to store. Always have what I am looking for at reasonable prices. Staff is friendly and helpful. Always a good experience shopping at this location.

09/12/2023. I like McMunn & Yates. I have been there a few times. It is the closest yielding supply store to us. The problem I find is that the staff really don’t know much about the products that sell. Hopefully my recent visit was unique. I was not the only frustrated shop my better have was frustrated also. I understand that the staff cannot know every product but I would suggest that a it would be a good plan to refer the customer to another staff member.

Edited review. Had an issue with this location, but store management has resolved my issue, and I will happily continue doing business here.

Poor customer service. Twice I have been in that place and twice they couldn't be bothered to show me where the product was that I needed but couldn't find.

I like to support local and in the past I have visited this location several times.
I ordered a storm door from this location that was almost immediately defective. They were unhelpful and declined a replacement of the same or a similar model. Even went so far as to suggest a new purchase lol. Luckily I was able to get it repaired for a good price.
The experience gave me good insight into customer service, or lack thereof. I won't be making any future purchases

Lots of stuff to look at, lots of room to walk around, found what I was looking for and very nice staff.

Save your time and money and go elsewhere. They never have anything they advertise in stock and will tell you they do even when they don’t and when trying to get the product it’s nothing but a hassle and a headache.

Always have everything when I'm looking for at a great price. Service is OK sometimes very slow but I always come back.

We phoned and ordered 70 1x6 8ft micro sienna boards and the girl we dealt with was very nice they priced match home depot, out of the 70 we had 3 that were damaged and 4 that were warped but managed to use for cuts very happy with the boards and service. THANKS

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Prices are ok and don't have to leave the neighborhood. Usually a good selection of products.

Absolutely horrible stock selection. Tried to pay with credit card and their manager claimed that he could not type in my credit card number because they are locked out.

Terrible experience with Dan in sales and Bernie. Would not return a call or respond to emails regarding questions about an invoice. Would highly discourage people from dealing with him

Had to wait for service. People behind the desk seemed disinterested and tried to avoid eye contact
