Phil is amazing. I found myself in a terrible position needing a new transmission on a Subaru outback 2015. He found an affordable used one with low mileage very quickly, and even dealt with my extended warranty company to cover their end without me even having to talk to them. He’s kind and patient and fair. Definitely recommend

Something broke underneath my van when I was driving and I showed up without an appointment in the morning. Obviously, they couldn't lift my van with the hoist because they were booked until next week. They still decided to test drive my van to at least try to diagnose it and they quickly found the issue. They were able to replace the bearing of the drive shaft without the hoist in the same morning so I could be back on the road to Montreal as soon as possible. The best auto repair ever!

I brought my truck here a few times, and they do great work. Reasonably priced and extremely honest and conscientious.

Mr. Transmission at 3333 Portage Avenue rebuilt the CVT in our Nissan Murano two years ago. When it recently began leaking transmission fluid, we took it to them for a diagnosis. It turned out to be an axle seal needing replacement, and they fit us in the next day, even though they were very busy. It was fixed by lunch and they didn't charge a dime.
This is very refreshing dealing with a business like this that stands behind their work 100% in an era where other shops make warranty offers like so-called "lifetime" brakes, in which they install the cheapest parts possible, knowing you will be back in a year and they can slap on a $10 set of pads for free and charge huge markups on all the other "necessary" parts.
My wife took it in for the diagnosis and they treated her fairly, respectfully and honestly; explaining exactly what the problem was in layperson's terms and how they were going to fix it. The fact they handed us the keys back the next day and didn't charge a thing was a bonus.

Phil and team were awesome! Had work done on my truck two years ago. Had an issue with the axle seal leaking and they had no problem looking at it and fixing the problem. Highly recommend MISTER transmission. They are honest and want to please The customer.

Easily one of the best shops in Winnipeg if not all of Manitoba and I don't say that lightly. I have 4 vehicles, 3 of which have been to this shop for a variety of issues and every time I've received quality work. As a business owner/backyard wrencher myself I greatly appreciate Phil's no nonsense, straightforward and professional work ethic.
This shop prides themselves on providing quality work, will never try to upsell their customers and unlike other shops I've dealt with there is zero lack of communication between the employee's on the shop floor and anyone who works on your vehicle will know exactly what they are doing.
Shops/techs like these are diamonds in the rough and If you're looking for experienced and trustworthy people to work on your work truck, daily driver or "Baby" then this is 100% the place to go!

Mr Transmission did excellent service and repair on my 2013 Ford Focus had the transmission rebuild. Also I'm happy it comes with a 3 year 60000km warranty. The Manger Phil was very courteous and accurate with the quote he gave me, and the repair was done quicker than expected took car there Monday got it back on Thursday and it's working fine. Thanks to the mechanics, Phil and Mr Transmission

Worst customer service experience. I will not recommend this business to anyone, very expensive. Phil was pretty rude and demanding. Had to take my car somewhere else.

My first and the last experience with this business. Brought my car with one simple problem, the key was stuck inside the ignition. After a "serious" diagnostic, which cost me $150, they told me that the whole cylinder needs to be replaced for over $600. I immediately realized that it was simply a rip-off. Right away I took my car to Brothers' Locksmith shop, and the problem was fixed within five minute without charge, with simply lubricating the cylinder and taking the key out. Unfortunately we had to pay $150 for the wrong and unprofessional diagnostic. Stay away from these money greedy liars!

Our regular mechanic referred us to Mr. Transmission after the CVT in our 2014 Nissan Pathfinder needed replacement. It is a far better option than working directly with the dealership. The price was fair, service was professional, expectations were clear, and there is a 3 year warranty on the work, compared to 1 year from Nissan. We had a minor post-service follow-up that they looked at with no issue or extra charges. We also had a second vehicle in for a suspension replacement and transmission flush. Phil kindly agreed to take my car on an additional road test to assure me all was good. I'm glad to recommend Mr. Transmission and appreciate the professional service from Phil and team!
