Mona Lisa Ristorante Italiano

It's been awhile since I've been here. The main dining room is no longer there.
It's more of a wine bar/bistro feel now.
The tables are set elegantly with wine glasses when you walk in.

Our server was very sweet and went above and beyond to please our table. From a professional stand point she missed a few things, but they were minor. Her friendliness made up for that.

My friend invited me to dine with him because he wanted to do the chefs table for 4.
The price point was very reasonable for the amount of food served.
There were 2 appetizers, 2 entrees (served family style), individual desserts.

I'm not a big fan of bruschetta but their version I would give a 5 star for flavor.
The arancini balls were a 4 star for me.
The chicken dish was delicious and I would order that again. It was off the menu item but is often a feature item we were told. 5 stars.
The pasta dish was a bit too al dente for my friends though I thought it was fine. Overall that pasta dish was a 4 for me. You'll have to refer to my pictures since I didn't get the names of all the dishes that night.

Desserts
For the desserts I was told the espresso martini was delicious. Too sweet for some, but if you love sweet alcoholic caffeine, this is all your vices in one. (I did not try this one) the consensus was the flavor was outstanding.

I had the chocolate cake which was a beautiful piece. 4.5 star
The chocolate gelato was also a 4 star.
The canoli was mixed reviews. I give it a 4 star. I actually don't like canolis but I didn't mind it. I think I would eat it had I not been so full. I did have some at the table that didn't enjoy it though.

Parking was street parking which is free. Thursday night they weren't busy so we did not have any issues. I did not notice a parking lot.

Tldr, great experience having not been there in awhile. I need to go back and try more of their menu items to see if I should upgrade it to 5. This was a 4.5 for me.

Delicious food, excellent service.
The meals do take a while to come out after ordering.

Went for a whisky event and the service was great! Staff were very attentive and the samples of food they brought out were a great tasting of what they have to offer.

The drinks and appetizers I had were delicious, but the entrees I can't really say the same for. The staff was also very friendly and quite quick for how packed they were. I'd say if you want to share some apps and have a few drinks it's a good place, I'm not sure if I'd order the entrees again it's just not worth the price for me personally.

We've been going to for years and can’t say enough about how much we love our nights out to Mona’s. The staff is always friendly and caring. Food and drinks are always perfect. Almost always bump into a friend when we are there. The owners always makes a point to come over to say hello, make us feel welcome and to ensure we are enjoying ourselves.

Mona’s is our go to restaurant for a night out (and occasional mid-week delivery for their amazing pizza). We love the atmosphere, food and staff.
Portion sizes are quite large and made with fresh, quality ingredients. We have never been disappointed with our meals and we always feel very welcomed and taken care of by the staff members and management.
This family owned, local restaurant is always a recommendation in our house hold.

I’m happy to have dined at an Italian restaurant which has certificate of authenticity by government of Italy! I ordered Gnocchi Al Tartufo but Gnocchi ran out so I got it substituted with Capellini. Then had a tiramisu. Finally tried a cappuccino with amaretto and topped it all off with a pistachio gelato. Cappuccino, gelato, wines were awesome, service was wonderful, ambience was spectacular (I sat outside, Al-fresco)! However the pasta dish and tiramisu were just okay, because the taste was bland! They mention the use of truffle oil but I could not smell it or taste it in the dish…moreover the tiramisu was dry and had a very subtle hint of espresso; so these dishes should have been flavourful for the appreciation!

My first experience about a decade ago was great!
Ten years later- very, very disappointed… we made a reservation for 7 pm on a Thursday. Ordered food fairly promptly and did not get out main entrees until 8: 45pm. I wish I was kidding. But unfortunately I am not.

Not all appetizers were brought all at once. Part of our party had to inquire about their appetizers, while others were already half done.
Mistake was made on one dish- asked to eliminate cheese from their entree and received with cheese.
Absolutely no explanation on why it took so long for our meals. No apology either. We were a party of 15, so thank goodness we had good company to pass the time. Was not offered dessert either.

Food was “just okay”. Nothing I would rave about to others. Definitely not what I remembered years ago. I have definitely had better meals at other local Italian restaurants. Alfredo was okay. Pizza was also just okay, something seemed off with the consistency of the dough when baked. Some parts nice and crunchy, some bites seem almost doughy. Salad was good- but it shouldn’t be the best thing eaten at an Italian restaurant. Calamari was good as well.
Very pricey food for portions given.

Our waitress was lovely, we were offered lots of water during our almost 2 hour wait for our main entrees!

Late night for the kids and adults on a weekday.
Atmosphere was comforting, minus the obnoxiously loud table next to us (not the restaurants fault at all).

Unfortunately overall, not a great experience. Memorable experience, all for the wrong reasons.

Excellent service, food was fresh and delicious. Celiac friendly. Great place to eat. I always enjoy my time here. It's a great place to eat and have a wonderful evening

Our Daughter & her fiancée recently ordered Pizza from Mona Lisa for their wedding social. Wow, amazing! 30 Pizzas was just enough for 150-200 person late night snack. They were hot, delicious, loaded with toppings and everyone commented on that it was the best Pizza they ever had!

Was here for a staff gathering during their regularly closed hours. We were able to eat and then play bocci ball on their courts which was super fun! Service was perfect and the wine selection was great! Very very helpful staff! I’ve been her before and this just solidified my reasons for liking it. We had a buffet style meal which was really good and they looked after all the special diets in our group very nicely. I think this is a guaranteed great place to go if you want a nice evening out!

Not authentic Italian food, now that itself wouldn't mean their food is bad, I have been to many other "Italian inspired" restursnts that had good food, But this place, pizza was like nothing I ever tried anywhere! The crust was hard & tough & excessively salty topping, The pasta which was already $32 one lousey bowl, Asked parmasan to sprinkle on top, and they charged extra $3! I never seen or heard of a returant chargeing extra for that! And I don't know kind of cheese product it was but it tasted like the fake kraft paramasan sprinkle. As for their service we waited nearly an hour for our food even tho the were not that busy.

Simply the best! I bought their pizza kit! It comes as you see on pictures, in a box, every ingredients separately! About the quality? IMPRESSIVE! All fresh! It is kit for you to open the dough! The flavour of it is absolutely fantastic, you feel you are in Italy! Price super fair! Worth every cent!

Top notch restaurant. Excellent food. Best veal dish I ever had and my sister raved about her seafood. Highly recommended. Friend and courteous service. Great selection of wines.

I was really disappointed this time, I've been to Moan Lisa a few times and loved the Seafood salad they have, the seafood amount was always fair and large pieces in it, this time I had 2 large shrimp, and 3 skimpy salmon plus1 scallop, for the amount of $27 I believe the amount should be fair. Not happy, since I craved it for months and was finally able to get to the city and the restaurant.

We've had Mona Lisa cater at our venue space for a wedding, as well as had them cater a staff dinner and it was an amazing experience both times! The service is great and the food is fantastic. We would highly recommend them for an event or even just an evening out for dinner.

Incredible food offerings last night.the service was extremely poor! The main servicing staff was not competent to anticipate the meal expectations. She required continual prompting after we patiently waited for pauses in her visits with her peers. At the end of the night, we had to stand up and put our winter wear on, and still needed to ask the floor lead to break up her conversation with her two girlfriends. She told us that she was waiting for us to finish our visit. It was explained to her it was us that have been waiting for her visiting to end, as were other patrons
She then provided a statement that she was leaving for Italy and needed to visit with her peers. This excuse was extremely inappropriate.this part of our meal was a disappointment after a lovely time at MTC.

I have been at Mona Lisa a few times over the years both personal and with professional peers and the experiences were wonderful!

Love this place! Pizza is amazing. Lots of toppings and just the rite crust thickness. The tomatoe sauce on the pasta is perfect. Not too strong.
