Mongo's Grill

We informed the waitress it was our first time there, and the waitress explained to us how it worked. However, she did a horrible job. "When you're ready go up to the buffet and fill your bowl and take it to the grill".

We ordered our drinks (Dr. Pepper and a water) then when up to the buffet. When the bill came we were charged for 2 soft drinks and one us for the mega buffet, we pointed it out and they correct the drink but then informed us it was extra if you went up again. Since they don't have a menu and we informed the waitress it was our first time I really think this is something she should have told us.

Also as we were leaving I heard another waitress asking if anyone has allergies as they'll prepare the grill for you. Again we weren't asked this. Very disappointed with our waitress.

The food is good, but expensive. The wait staff didn't even come for drink refills. I'll definitely be back for the food, but maybe take out next time.

Mongos has dropped in quality since opening. The shaved beef they used to use seemed to be of a better quality. If you're looking to fill yourself with some okayish stir-fry by all means go grab a bite here. They also used to offer a birthday bowl but since Covid that has been cancelled.

Comparing this to the mongo's on regent, I'd say it's a much newer and nicer place. Line ups were non existent on a Tuesday! Server was friendly and prompt. Did quality was great. Unfortunately, the cooks looked tired and uninspired compared to Regent, my food and my kids dishes sat unattended on the grill far too long. Not inedible, but really they only complaint. Overall a good experience, and I will likely be back.

Personally, one of my go to restaurant if I want to have a stir fry with lots of veggies options as well as proteins and meat.

One should definitely check this one out as the staff is polite and will help you out throughout the entire line if it's your first time there.

I love Mongolian grills like this. Grab a bowl and pick your favorites to get heated up right in front of you. Good selection of veggies and meats and tons of sauces. Very clean throughout and service was very friendly.

I love the selection of stir-fry options available. They put on a great little show as they cook up your food infront of you. A family friendly place to eat.

My daughter's favourite restaurant. Have never had a bad time there. Only giving four stars because it's pretty much strictly stir fry.

I love this place. You get what you want.the about you want.the sauces and vegetables, noodles and rice. Table service is a little slow and sometimes take rwo drink orders and bring one.but a lot of new staff.so worth a chance.

Delicious food and add ingredients as per your taste. Quantity is really good aswell. Value for money.

Was there with my family for a quick lunch. Tables and seats were dirty and place was dimly lit. Overall cleanliness was very poor. Ventilation was poor and we came out our clothes smelling food. Concept and food were good.

Was good! However, the tongs had different food on them & they were kinda gross… delicious though!

The food was fresh and delicious! The atmosphere was my favourite part. It was very hypnotizing watching all the cooks around the grill! Seeing them throwing stuff to eachother like they've been doing it their whole life! Was so great even with my two young children they really enjoyed the food and watching the cooks!

Fantastic service! Highly recommend this place. Build your own with tons of Vegan options! The staff were very friendly and helpful in building the perfect rice bowl and flavour for me.

It used to be awesome but not again.
I don't need to go to a restaurant to eat no uncle Ben's rice and Walmart tortillas.
Not to mention the price was way to high for this food.
Sorry but we won't be back.

Overpriced for what you get. Palatial Express is twice the portion for half the price. And their noodles are way better.

Had dinner at Mongo’s and the place was sparsley populated. Our server was less than ideal and provided sub par service. There was an excessive delay in taking our orders and the restaurant made a mistake and gave me someone else’s order. This mishap was a bump on top of a bruise and further lengthened our time there. It was over two hours for dinner. What’s worse Was the excessive amount of time our server spent chatting with other staff. At the end we were given a bill for the full cost of the meal and an apology. We would’ve been Preferred of our inconvenience would’ve been compensated in some way. It will be a long time until I return.

I want to mango grills on ellice and it was a total disaster, waste of money. They ended up putting too much mushrooms in my food.

We normally love this place but with the covid rules it sure isn't the same. They give you a sheet of paper to fill out with all your choices so the staff can create your bowl. Flavour wasn't there just tasted like the oil I choose portion size wasn't what I would have made and the kick is they wouldn't let us pack our 4 year olds leftovers even though they made it. Weak! I won't go back till things are back to normal when ever that may be.

Mongos went above and beyond for me as I have IBS/ GARLIC allergy they went and listed all the items I can't have and just did the best work to make me feel like everyone else.by far one of my favorite places to eat

Our whole family had a great meal! The serving sizes are just as big if not bigger now, during covid restrictions, than what we used to fit in our bowl before. Certainly going back as soon as we can.

Great experience, selection and service. Get all you can eat and forget about trying to stack your bowl high (unless you enjoy the challenge!)

I feel like the bowls for the stir fry's should be a bit bigger. Other than that a great place to eat and it's so much fun to watch your food get cooked in front of you

This Mongo's restaurant is among the best! Always the top dapper individuals serving tables. Every time I have been to this location is has been a great experience. The individuals working at this establishment deserve a hats off to their politeness - very rare to come by these days!

Always a Great place to eat. Cooked right in front of you! The atmosphere is always perfect on matter when you go! And who can't say no to Free food on your birthday!

Friendly service, attentive cooks (including the manager who spent some time on the grill) and always great food. Oh and it was nice and cool inside on a +29 summer night - What more could one hope for!

Never disappoints, love the fact that I'm in total control of what I eat. Great system that can't be beat.

Mongos is the absolute go to place for all you can eat in Winnipeg.

On 15th June of 2019, I took my roommate to this restaurant. Jacob served us and it was pretty good. On 16th June of 2019, I took my classmate to this wonderful place again. Astonishing!

You need to go! Location is great, staff is wonderful!
Good selection of veggies, meat, noodles, and sauces. You can make almost anything.
This is usually a work lunch for me, so I get to go. Staff offers cutlery and soy sauce in the bag every time.
Wonderful at accommodating allergies. There's something here for everyone.

Very friendly staff, nice clean and bright. Prices are very steep. Never know it was on a major highway

If you haven't been and you like stir-fry I highly recommend coming here. Large variety of ingredients and sauces allow you to make a really unique dish every time you go. If you don't know what you want they do have set guides you can follow so you at least get a tasty meal. I almost never need the all you can eat option as one bowl tends to fill me up.

How can you go wrong with food you practically made yourself? My only complaint is that I wish water refills were offered. Servers are all too quick to assume that because you order water you aren't going to tip and then they forget about you.

Great food but you really have know what you're doing to get enough items stacked in the little bowl they give you. It's like building a house of cards, or a really good game of tetris.haha. They only cook it for so if the taste is off, that's on you

By far my favorite restaurant it is so unique and custom and it's just so amazing it is honestly the best place to go for a good lunch or supper!

We took my sister and her family here for her stepdaughter's birthday. The atmosphere was fun and there was plenty of choice for everyone. This is a good place for big groups as there is something to satisfy every taste. The servers were helpful and the food was good.

Love this place! It's our go to place for meetings. The ingredients are fresh, the service is always prompt and they make sure they ask if you have any allergies. It's the only place that ever asks me. I'm allergic to soy in a bad way, so they clean a spot extra for me to make sure I don't get a reaction. So far out of the dozens of times I've been there, never had a reaction or been disappointed. Thank you Mongo's!

If you haven’t been here, you really should go at least once! I absolutely love Mongos. The food is great and they take proper precautions for food allergies on the grill. They have a great selection of veggies, meats, noodles, sauces and for the most part have an excellent and friendly staff at a new location which is very clean.

Variety was limitless food was fresh and delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful. All that for a great price can't get better than that.

I enjoy this place quite a bit mainly because of the freedom, you can as much as you like of whatever you like. The staff are quick to get you started and are helpful if you haven't been there before. I've been here a lot for the portions as I usually leave here full and still with leftovers.

First time visit to this type of restaurant, a little bit confusing to start but have to love picking out your own custom meal

Think subway on steroids I mean amount of food out of various meat seafood and noodles to make the greatest amount of food I've ever seen.

Poor table service, burnt our food and gave us attitude when we asked to make another bowl. **Stay away from polo park location**

Friendly staff, fresh food, very clean. It is a bit pricey so we only come for dinner once in a while. Children under 4 eat free and they are very accommodating with picky eaters. Vegetarian friendly, just let them know to avoid meat contact and they'll polish off the grill before cooking your meal. Love the atmosphere here.

Good food, supper is pricey but we enjoyed it. Remember to put lots of sauce on your dish before going to the grill. I never put enough. We will go back.

This place is a fantastic spot, for those who like, something different, yet similar to Ichi Ben Japanese restaurant. You choose your likens they cook in front of you, pricing is right, very nice facility. Great family/friends place or date night, great amenities.

Friendly/energetic staff, food area was kept clean staff seemed to be staying ontop of things in that department. Bit difficult to enjoy if you only have a half an hour lunch. Overall good value for your dollar.

Potential to really pile up to your plate. Cool concept where you pick your ingredients and place it in a bowl. Choose your meat vegetables spices etc, sauces stand in the queue and watch them stir-fry your food with cheer and happiness.
