Narrows Sunset Lodge

The hotel room is very run down. It was not clean. The shower curtain was full of mold. The bathroom wall was dirty with dust and streaks due to humidity from running the shower and having no fan. The door locks were in need of repair. The window air-conditioned had insulation around it which you could easily push thru to the outside. The furniture (table and shelves) were miss matched, old and in need of repair. There were coffee stains on the wall and coffee grounds on the floor behind the furniture. To access the restaurant you had to go thru a door at the end of the hall and this door was always locked. As it was we planned to go to the restaurant for Sunday breakfast and it was closed due to no staff. There is no wifi service. You have to pay for ice. The staff that we did interact with were irritated and not pleasant to talk to. The outside deck had no furniture available. The deck itself was missing safety railings and you had to be careful not to step on a soft piece of wood for fear of going thru the deck. The view and lake was beautiful but the accommodations for 125.00 per night was not even a 1 star quality.

Nice stop. Some of the lodge is dated and needs upgrading. Great food at restaurant with good serving sizes.

Under new management, seemed like some things were still being worked out, but I had a good time. Food was good and so was the view.

The view is amazing and everyone going thre should spend some time walking along the water's edge at low tide. A peaceful and invigorating experience the same time.

Stopped in to pick up chicken. More expensive than the Esso in Eriksdale at Haavakeen. 16 pcs there are $27.99 and at the Narrows it is $34.99. I guess they charge more because they are a " Tourist " place!

Nice place. They have everything from snacks to alcohol & washrooms so its 1 stop shopping for me!

I did not end up staying here. They couldn't get organized at the point of customer contact. Both the employee and the owner complained about the cost of emptying their septic holding tank and told me people should not come there with a full black tank.

I had an empty tank so I'm not sure why I needed this info.

They also told me that they would charge $38 for the site plus $25 to dump. Making them the most expensive place to camp I have found in Canada yet.

Between the bad attitude of both the person at the counter and the owner, the ridiculous cost, and the lack of knowledge about industry standard practices with regard to dumping, I chose to take my business elsewhere. Perhaps you will too.

Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights, could only handle staying 1 night.
Both rooms were dirty. Most/many surfaces not wiped down at all, still had food/crumbs etc.
Both showers were dirty, white towels were stained, others had holes. 1 bathroom had a sticky floor.
1 room full of flies from gap in a/c unit in window, left unfixed.
1 room had food left in fridge from previous guests.
Beautiful spots in the area but the rooms are awful.

Under new and improved management. Better prices and services.

Edit: Hours Change Constantly, Good food but a bit overpriced, Just recently got gas, Rooms need basic maintenance

Not horrible and not great. Very disappointing on how they run the camping end of it. Right hand dose not know what the left is doing. And no place to dump your tanks on your RV. Disappointing

Great place for a family vacation. Cabins were not the cleanest and the floor throughout could use an upgrade

Went in to buy something and was shamed for wearing a bikini at the lake. Unsure why the staff felt the need to attack what I was wearing, but either way NOT A WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT. My grandmother has lived at this lake since I was a child and I have always worn a bathing suit everywhere around the narrows. Sexualizing my body for NO reason was gross and inappropriate. Shame on the women that work here.

Stayed here many years ago now. Booked our room months in advance. When my wife and I arrived there with our three young children they had given our room away (we where not late and had paid in advance). They finally stuffed us into a room beside the bar with one bed (I'll let you guess who slept on the floor). No apology, no discount. My only hope is that it's changed owners since. Perhaps it's lovely now but I have NO intention of giving them a second chance.

Nice campgrounds and people are very friendly around here. Everything you want from a camp site can be found here. Although the beach area is small and very rocky. Water shoes would be an asset if you want to swim. Seasonal camping is spaced out fairly well. The store is right by the water and has a decent selection. Liquor mart too.

We only stayed one night. We had a great time. The store is stocked with ice and all kinds of spirits and beer. The store clerk was extremely helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this lodge. The fishing is great. Tge rooms were big and very comfortable.

Twenty years ago, this place was great! Fishing was phenomenal! And every weekend you hung out, everyone was like family. Then when the flood went through and management changed hands, the lodge went downhill fast. If you ever have a problem on your campsite, the numbers they leave to call upon staff don't respond to you're messages. Not impressed!

Fantastic server! It was such a pleasure to be treated well. I randomly stopped here, but I would go back for sure! I love it!
