Loved the place. The owners are passionate about their business. I didn't purchase the product I came to buy because I found it at sale elsewhere. But I would to prefer to shop if they have something unique. Most updates are on their Facebook page so it's easy to inquire about pricing and availability through the Facebook. Lots of variety

It was such an amazing experience! I was delighted to see the beautiful and healthy aquatic plants they have there. It was such a joyful sight, and I felt so happy being there.

Always has the fish I'm looking for in stock. I have been in many fish stores and they all have very dirty tanks so you kinda don't want to get fish from there. But nestors is great. I have never seen a dirty tank in the store. They take good care of all there aquatic creatures.

Very impressive! Drove 2 hours to see the selection of fish and was not disappointed! They were very friendly and gave me some great advice on starting my cichlid tank! We were looking for vibrant and unique colours which is exactly what we found! Thanks again!

Good selection, clean and the plants/planted tanks look great.

However, I would never ever add of their saltwater fish to my system. Fish often have ich and recently I noticed worms coming out of several clownfish.

Very over priced, easily 25% higher than local competitors.

Wonderful store. Great selection for planted aquariums! I've purchased decor, fire red shrimp and otocinclus, extremely happy with the quality. I happened to be purchasing a 2.5 gallon for some plants at the same time as the otocinclus and they asked if I had a tank for them, I really appreciate when stores confirm that you have an appropriate setup. Looking forward to my next visit.

Pro: good selection of fishes, friendly owners and staff members, honest and helpful, fishes are reasonable priced, fishes are health.
Con: not the best place if u are brand new in fish keeping and did not do ANY research before u go. On very rare occasions I did noticed fish with ick, or tank mates attacking one another. Some products were also over priced.
Conclusion: if you are a experienced fish keeper, or u can bring a knowledgeable friend with u, Nestor’s would be a great fish store!

I have been running a healthy goldfish tank for many years. I added a fish from here two weeks ago and now my fish are dying. When I called to talk to them about it, I was aggressively told that it was my fault for not looking after my water correctly. They would not listen to anything that was said on my end, and continually told me it was my fault. I will never use or recommend this store again.

I bought 5 fish from them, my levels are great in my planted tropical 55 gallon tank. I acclimated them for an hour. Was told there is only a 24 hour fish warranty, I had all 5 fish die over a 2 week period, they clearly had something wrong with them. There was no effort to correct this and basically was told that it is my fault. I have had fish for many many years of my life and this has never happened. One fish dying out of 5 I don't find out of the normal, sometimes it happens, but All 5! What a waste of my money! I told the lady on the phone what happened and if they won't do anything, I won't be purchasing from them anymore. SHE HUNG UP ON ME.
DON'T shop here, they don't care about their customers.

Great assortment of fish species, constantly getting new species in and they have the accessories I want. Great place for beginners to advanced hobbyist.

The staff were very helpful, they have everything you would need and then some. Also, some really beautiful live stock.

Showed up during hours but they do not stick to there schedule hours of bussiness I guess they don't care to sale anything better go somewhere else and buy

I’ve been a loyal customer for two decades and haven’t had an issue with staff until today. I purchased a bristlenose pleco from Nestor for a well established tank that I took care of regularly. I woke up to find the pleco, my Angel fish that was the size of my palm and a parrot cichlid roughly the same size, all dead. There is also another parrot cichlid and an algae eater still alive in the tank, but neither were looking great. Everyone was fine and everything seemed normal before going to bed.

I called the store to see if they’ve had any issues with their plecos and get some advice outside of my own experience. He got immediately defensive and started yelling at me on the phone. I gave him all the information I had including that all the water specs appeared to be normal. He immediately accused me of lying about the specs and continued to yell at me, the entire time I’m being calm because I just want to know what went wrong. I gave up trying to talk to him and just hung up.

Like I said I had been a loyal customer for more than 20 years and I’m disappointed that I was treated so poorly and with complete disrespect. I am not likely to go back.

Nestor keeps he aquariums clean with quality fish and products. Nestors is definitely a place you can trust with over 20 years of experience. I would highly recommend.

Live stock is great, good selection on equipment and supplies but price is steep compared to other local stores.

Always welcoming and friendly staff. Fully stocked on fresh water and salt water species, from tiny tetras and shrimp to stunning arowana showcases. Fully stocked with all the supplies anyone would need for keep their fish happy and healthy. Definitely worth a stop for any fish keeping hobbyist! Plus they have stuff for keeping birds, small mammals and reptiles!

Great! Place to buy quality products … especially with plants as per my experience. I had plants from pets mart which are cheaper than nesters but quality of plant is far way behind than what nesters offer. I’m happy to pay that price for the quality nesters offer. I have lot of plants from nesters which I introduced far later than the one I bought from petsmart and they are doing far better. I’m not comparing two places petsmart is also great place but here nesters overtook them. Go and visit for vast quality section products here.

What a great experience, very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Got everything I needed 5 new fish 4 new live plants. Excellent variety, reasonable price, well packaged. Defiantly my go to place now for fish and other pet supplies.

Oh wow this place is a gem! The place is clean organized and the staff knowledgeable and helpful. Popped in for some quick additions to our class room fish tank. Was in and out within 15 minutes with 4 assassin snails, 6 black neon tetra and 4 neon tetra to add to our current school. The kids were over joked and spent the majority of the day sitting in front of the 20 gal admiring our new pets.

Great pet shop, I saw soo many kind of unique fishes there I never saw before so many varieties but little bit expensive. Anyways love this shop.

Staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. They carry everything we need for our several planted aquariums, and are always ready to answer any questions we have. They also carry a wide variety of salt and freshwater fish/critters. You wont find a store like this anywhere else in the city!

Very clean and organized shop, employees were friendly and helpful, prices are a little on the high side but the care of the products "somewhat" justifies the pricing. I would recommend Nestors to others.

Amazing selection of fish and a very clean store. Also has a great selection of odd ball parts and fluorescent bulb sizes. The staff is friendly and Nestor is very knowledgeable. Have bought several fish here and they are all doing very well. However some prices are a bit higher than else where so do your research to potentially save a couple bucks.

Nice place to buy aquatic pets. Very clean, higly maintained clear water, all fishes are healthy. Owners are very friendly and accomodating.

The owners of this store are the rudest people ive ever met my 12 year old daughter who is special needs I went to bring her to buy the fish she wanted for Xmas she was so excited to pick out the fish and the store owners told us to leave and she is not allowed in the store this has ruined her Xmas so before you think of supporting monsters like this ease shop elsewhere these people are heartless excuses for human beings merryxmas

Amazing store - knowledgeable and friendly staff. They were able to help me pick out exactly what I needed. Went back to get additional fish during Code Red lockdown - I called ahead and explained what I wanted, while asking a million questions - when I arrived everything was ready for a quick and SAFE pick-up! Thank you Nestor's, you've gained a super loyal customer. 10/10

Lack of cichlid and pleco hides was frustrating for me.and small selection of aquarium ornaments. Higher prices than Kildonan Pets for filters. Reasonable prices on Bettas

I have been purchasing my aquarium fish and plants from here since 2013! Always a pleasant experience, they always package my fish with care as i live 400km from there. I have never had a sick or dying fish i will be continuing to choose this store for my future aquarium needs (and wants lol)

Really fantastic store. I normally never leave reviews but I cannot appreciate the stock and selection without leaving one. Great display in the front with Asian arrowanas and spectacular selection of wood, media and stock. A tad overpriced in certain areas but certainly worth the money on several items. Just all around a real showstopper!

Great stuff but I won't be going back. I'm not a newb to the hobby so I knew I was being bullsh*tted on several occasions, just to make a sale. They actually laughed at me when I bought a different kind of plant I had never had before that I thought had pale brown/green leaves but it was actually dead! They wouldn't reimburse me, saying I should have known better. Why are you selling dead plants? The wife knows nothing about fish and is only interesting in lining her pockets so if you need anything ask Nestor.

They have a great selection of products for aquariums along with items to put in your tank as decor! Some of the tanks storing fish for sale can have some dead or stressed fish but for the most part they are well maintained. My biggest issue is that they sell and encourage the sale of tiny for bettas; they need better!

This is a clean store with a huge selection of tropical/freshwater fish/plants, tanks, stands, and accessories. Everything they sell looks and feels of high quality. The staff is very kind and knowledgable!

Great place to get your fish, saltwater and fresh. Whenever I go i leave with more knowledge than when I entered, they always have a tip for me

This has quite the selection. More than a few unique fish to be had here. You will have to pay for it as you should. The draw back is that for run of the mill fish he is priced at the top end of the fish market. There are other aquariums that offer your standard fish for a more competitive price. Buy with care

But not impressed with the service at all.
I felt like as soon as I mentioned I was just there for advice the owner got cold on me and said whatever he could to get me out of the door.
No, I wasn't there to buy, but I'm new to the hobby and was extremely excited to see what the store had to offer for my future needs. No plans to go back now.

They had the best price in town for aquariums, service was great. Lots of selections and knowledgeable on products they had on the shelf. I would recommend this place to anyone, and will be returning when im back ib the city.

Found it very expensive, not much help it seemed as if they were more interested in the TV than helping customers.

This was the cleanest fish store I've ever seen! Every single tank was immaculate, the owners are very prideful in their work and are very happy to share their experiences with customers. This was a MUST SEE while we were visiting Winnipeg, I can't wait to come back!

I have a salt aquarium and they had few fish. Hence the 4 star. But the ones they had were very nice. Most of the aquariums are super clean and very nicely arranged. Talk to Neil, he's the son. He can tell you the fish temperament with each other. Very very knowledgeable.

This is an amazing family business with the best selection of everything aquarium related in Winnipeg. Super clean. Very knowledgeable. A fun place to visit, even if you are not in the hobby. The selection of freshwater and saltwater species is amazing. Highly recommended.
