NorthShield Windows and Doors Winnipeg

So, my family hired northshield to replace our back door, as the old door had deteriorated due to ground shift.
Northshield installed the door oddly quickly, and ever since we have had nothing but problems. From the door being stuck, to being unable to unlock it, and most strange of all the lock and handle falling off respectively, which they refused to fix, claiming initially they did not install the door. It was their subcontractor, but when we pulled out the invoice, they changed their tune saying they put in the door but not the lock, and claiming the problems were due to “mold and humidity”. I am unsure if a metal handle can shatter in one’s hand due to mold, but I am no scientist. The reason I am writing this review is because they refusing to repair their mistakes due to my mother’s negative review on this page. I can excuse poor workmanship, but borderline blackmail is where I draw the line. How dare you speak to someone that way, and not take responsibility as a business. Your customers have the right to complain, and also know of others complaints before they pay you. By the way, we have found out they are not endorsed by the Better Business Bureau, as we wanted to put in a notice. Shocker.

You try my mother, you get me. I sincerely hope you change your values as a business and take this as a learning opportunity to grow into a better one.

Very happy with windows. The installers were great
It was underestimated prior to installation the amount of work left for us to finish the wall around the windows. (see picture)

Got our windows and doors order in. Let's see if the workmanship installation service and warranties are going to be as promissed later on?
A few months after installation we had a question (problem). It's been now over 2 weeks and no response neither from the company nor the salesman. So their response on my first review was lipservice rather than actual promises. It had to do with dew, frost or condensation. Still waiting for an answer.
I finally got an apologetic response. They reassured me it is normal to have this occur this time of the year. Nothing to worry about. They could have avoided the whole misunderstanding with a prompt reply.

NorthShield was one of the Window companies I had short listed in my quest to find a good, reliable window installer in Winnipeg. I had a huge 45 window replacement project on my house and it was important for me to meet the owner and discuss all of my concerns with him. Walter was most accommodating and we found ways of mutually addressing any issues that arose.with the help of Rod (sales) and Russ (installation)
The windows arrived at the scheduled time from Toronto.and window installation was done very professionally over a week. The whole crew deserves my utmost thanks as everything went well, finding unique ways of attending to any problems that arose.
Post installation, there were some issues arising from an unexpected minor leak and some window E-coating issues but these were attended to promptly. At the time of writing, 2 more windows have had the same E-coating issue awaiting replacement. This is a manufacturing defect and Walter / Yuliya / Russ have always been prompt with identifying the problem and ordering the replacements. Post installation service has been excellent.
With all this in mind and hoping the relationship that has developed between Walter, me and the staff at NorthShield will continue, I have no hesitation in recommending NorthShield to anyone looking for a reliable window company and am most willing to be a reference for them, based on my experience so far.

From Salesman to Installers, the service was wonderful. Installers were on Time and installed 7 windows. They were courteous, cleaned up after themselves and answered all my questions and concerns. I would recommend NorthShield to others.

The sales rep; Jack came to our home, spent 1.5 hours here then never followed up with a quote for our project. Even after I confirmed my email address twice. Wasted our time.

We had all of our windows replaced by northshield. They were very fast with excellent installation. They helped us get our rebates back from the government. We had just a glass done not the frames, the last four they put in. I did not have to touch up the inside frames at all. I would highly recommend this company. Ask for Jim.

ANDREW & MAX DID THE WINDOWS. THEY WERE EXCELLENT but cant say about the quality of the widows which were not excellent, response from owner noted unfortunately I wasn't happy w/the quality &when I tried to inform them of the draft leak to be fixed the manager had the gall to be angry when I went to the office in person he wasn't happy that I complained about the significant draft leak.did not even fix it properly I patiently waited 3 months for them to rectify but no success so I gave up.my old one was better just sad. Paid big but not worth my hard earned money. Sad sad me.

Just had the guys at north shield come install my big front living room window, they were quick and efficient and it looks awesome. The whole process from dealing with Rodney the salesmen to having it installed from Vladimir’s crew was pleasant and they have the best pricing!

Company called and offered a cleanup for the glass and wood that was left behind. Very happy with their customer service and sales team, and the windows are excellent!

They recently replaced 7 windows and a patio door. When they called me to book the install appointment they had availability that week! It took them about 5 hours to install them, including the time it took them to vacuum everything.

I'm participating in the federal Greener Home grant, so a 3rd party had to come and do the post retrofit evaluation. They were impressed with the quality of the windows and doors, and I qualified for the maximum rebate for everything that was installed.

We absolutely loved the service that NorthShield provided us! Rodney was great at explaining everything we needed to know, and took the time to go through many options with us as far as product was concerned. Install of the windows and doors we purchased was done in a clean and timely fashion. We absolutely love the look of our windows and front door! Would highly recommend!

The following staffs namely Mr. Ruslan, Vova, Cody, Steve, Andrei and Gagan are so fantastic. They were professional in dealing with us. They did their job really good as promised. They made sure that their work area was clean before they left.

As regards to their work, we were so amazed when they finished the installation ahead of time without sacrificing the quality. It is really highly commendable! We will surely refer/recommend you all to our friends and relatives who need your expertise.

Our energy bill was down by almost 40% in our first month consumption post installation.
