Edited to reply to the business’s reply: I never once complained about damage costs if any. I was complaining about the lack of timeliness, communication, and professionalism. I understand that if there were damages, the real estate owner should not be held responsible in most cases. I never even mentioned anything about that. I am upset at the blatant disregard for tenants (i.e. Not following through with maintenance requests, giving me the run-around to get the deposit back, etc).
Original review: Unprofessional company. Took months of calling repeatedly for any maintenance to be done, and they didn’t even fix 3-4 things that were problems since move-in, even though they said they would. Be prepared to have to hound them to get your damage deposit back. It took about 10 phone calls and 24 business days to get mine back, even though the signed lease agreement said 14-21 days. (FYI the tenants board says damage deposits have to be returned within 14 days unless otherwise specified in the signed lease.)
Stay clear of this company if you can.

Pillar is a trustworthy company, their maintenance team responds very quickly and always provide me with the most economical solutions. I just learned today that their appliance technician Gil retired in January, he had done a lot of repairs for my suite. Wish him all the best!

When I sorted out the mess I had in 2016 trying to remotely rent my grandfathers house these people cleaned up the night mare mess the previous occupants (They didn't pay the agreed rent) left, and have kept the place orderly and made a number of improvements. They've kept me informed of the tenants and alerted me to maintenance issues as they arise.

On occasion they've hurried up my payment when I was caught short of cash.

Great service! They are very quick with their snow removal services. If you ever need them to come back and touch up the job, they’re just a call away. Very happy with the entire Pillar Property Management team. Thank you!

We found this beautiful little condo in Selkirk on airbnb and after contacting, what we thought were the owners, we were informed that it was Pillar Properties handling the condo for the owners. Our dealings with everyone at Pillar was excellent. You can't find a bunch of more professional people to deal with. Either on the phone, email, in person at their office and in person at our condo during our inspections. They were the most down to earth, professional and polite people to do business with! Excellent service. Great job!

Miranda is the worse person I never dealt with in my life. I was living in one of their property I was paying my rent on time I loved the house it was very nice safe neighborhood too but I had to leave due domestic violence happening to me I was told I was good to leave and get my security deposit back but this lady slandered my money never responded to my emails been 2 months! Worse person I ever met never deal with this lady shame.

A very poorly run Property Management company. They like to rip off Tenants and Owners every chance they get. When they "Fix" issues, it's always of poor quality, and yet they charge Premium rates!

Good property management accept the girl who did our viewing told not only us but our neighbour’s when they moved in that water would be paid by pillar, then after signing the lease and moving in we are getting billed for the water and pillar is trying to say that the water just goes through them and that we have to pay them 75$ a month for water.so make sure when you sign a lease everything that is mentioned is stated in the lease.

I been renting this place for almost 4 years already they are friendly and respectful to me and caring going extremely mile for me to answer all my question when I need them. I will keep them as a great reference from them. Keep you the great work guys. The coworker name is Mena she the caring person I ever know and met too. We find the staff at Pillar the best we have ever encountered when renting. They were very professional and eager to please. They were very accommodating to our concerns and needs. We felt very comfortable in the process and can state, they had our best interests at heart from the owner down through the entire staff. I would them six states out of five. Mena, and maintenance team is always there to help me, the owner to keep repairs and concerns of tenant addressed in timely manor. When ever I have had a bookkeeping question that is also handled well by Rona. The owner Kevin was available to me when I had concerns only he could address and did so to my satisfaction.

The team at Pillar are attentive, timely, and very responsive to any concerns you may have. The listen and address concerns in a timely responsible manner.

The systems they have in place to communicate are very convenient and efficient.

In the last year, I moved management of my rental properties to Pillar Property Management. I knew they had a good reputation, and I needed an attentive company to handle my portfolio. I have been very pleased with my decision. The staff at Pillar are always available to take a call and to respond to a request or concern. When there is an issue, it is usually resolved within an hour or two. They have a professional team, office staff, maintenance people, and management. Kelly and Kevin are outstanding, proactive, and their passion shows. Tenants are taken care of, and at the end of the day, that is what matters. I could not be more pleased. Terrible property management company! Avoid the at all costs, can’t get ahold of anyone in the office and they don’t answer to emails. They take your money and don’t do due diligence in managing a property.

Moved me into bed bug infested hell. Lost everything. Dont trust them. They stole damage deposit too.

HORRIBLE. Avoid this agency at all costs! Towers is far better and I HATE them with a passion. Pillar will not pay you back your damage deposit on time. They will not return emails or phone calls and give you the run around. Take your money elsewhere!

As a past renter with Pillar, I will say that I had a very good experience. They took over the property 2 months after I had moved in. Dealing with Francine and Mena was easy and always pleasant. They were more than willing to work with me. The maintenance department was always friendly. It was a tough go at the location that I was living at but with the help of Pillar and their team, I was able to make it work and would rent from them again.

So got a call back from Kevin Hamm, broker for Pillar, who explained a situation to me in full regarding a difficult client who had called me to get his home on the market. The feedback was well taken and was appreciated as I don't want to be spinning my wheels wasting my time. Thank you.

Quite helpful staff even at their busiest times. I understand their hands are tied sometimes being between the owners and their jobs that come in requested. I wouldnt rent anywhere else. There is worse.out there!

Only been a week since I've moved into a house listed under this management and I'm done with this company forever. Lots of major and minor issues in the house and they dont care at all. There is no coordination between owner and this company and they keep blaming each other.
Pay a little more but rent elsewhere. Worst management company ever dealt with! A BIG NO!

The worst agency to rent from! They overcharge for late fees. There 3 month inspections have all the subtlety of a colonoscopy, it's not like we rent the Taj Mahal. When you really need something fixed, it's like pulling teeth to get them to come out.

I’ve been with pillar for almost 6 years and all I can say is they have been very nice and understanding with me. Whenever I needed something fixed they were very fast. Whenever I was in a tight spot financially they were understanding and patient for the rent. All the staff are very friendly and professional. I would like to thank pillar for the opportunity to write this review, please do not hesitate to rent from them you will be very happy and satisfied!

I'm giving Pillar a 4 star rating, something I definitely would not have done in the first 2 years of our relationship. I've witnessed this company go through some development and as such there seemed to be some challenges. Not out of the ordinary for a transition period. As of late I've experienced a noticeable increase, not just in service but quality of service. As well, staff have been very supportive. I've experienced some financial difficulties and they have been exceptionally supportive and patient assisting me in developing a plan to 'catch up'. Francine has seen extremely supportive and patient, as well as the home owner. As well, after my last inspection almost all of the required repairs were addressed within a week. I know there is a prevailing attitude that all rental and property management companies do not operate on a personal level but that has not been my experience as of late. I truly believe Pillar has the right staff in place now and I'll continue to utilize their services. It seems like they've made a concerted effort to create a culture of quality customer service.

Crooks. I arranged to see a place they had for rent in St Francis Xavier this past Spring. They said it was $1295 rent but just before I signed for it and gave a deposit they told me they’d made a “mistake” and the rent was really $1795. Told them to get lost. Checked the ad out for another week and even had a buddy call and inquiry, they said it was avail for $1295.
