Very open spot to explore Manitoba electric history. Good photography opportunities; if you go early in the day. They say you need a parking pass - good luck on figuring that one out.

Lots of historical information about the old dam on the plaques around the park. The whole area is also just plain cool.

Interesting historical park to visit. Learn about the Pinawa Dam and walk right up to the old equipment. There are flat areas to walk but closer to the dam are a lot of rocks to climb.

Great day drive from Winnipeg area or southeastern Manitoba. Well marked trails. Nice small swimming area. Picnic area has non-modern washrooms. Lots of shade from the trees by the picnic tables. Historical plaques telling the story of the Pinawa Dam.

Very interesting "apocalyptic" facility literally in the middle of nowhere. Well worth the visit.

Great place to have a picnic and a good hike. Also has nice spots to jump in the water to cool off.

Highly recommend checking it out.

If you like learning about historic places, they also have information placards around the location to learn a little bit more about the history of the location.

You'll need a provincial park pass to park here.
The park has lots of picnic areas, Outhouses, playground and a shelter area.

One of my first stops on a long ride through Manitoba, and I absolutely will bring the family up here to spend more time. It's beautiful alongside some very interesting history (all of the concrete was brought in by wheelbarrow!). There's a lot of nature and things to see. Sadly, I didn't have enough time planned to hike and explore, but won't make that mistake next time.

Great historic site. Some major innovations by Manitobans in the construction of this dam.

Beautiful place and lots of parking. Would recommend going on the smaller hidden trails as well and doing a full loop through the entire area as you get to see a lot more beautiful landscapes:)

A perfect place to spend time, it is one of the best places I would suggest in and around Winnipeg.

Absolutely beautiful!

Picked up a lot of garbage on my hike. Really wish people who came to visit would be respectful.

Woah, what a neat piece of Manitoba's history! I can't imagine watching them build it, apparently it was done wheelbarrow by wheelbarrow full of concrete. These days it reminds the viewer of an ancient ruin like the coliseum or an old castle. Very cool to wander around and take in the scale - I would watch out very carefully if you brought kids though - some sections are a bit dangerous.

Great place with nice senic trail. The dam is popular for various photography as during daylight you can take some amazing pictures. Its also a great place to spend your day. There is shallow area on the other side of dam where kids can soak in, no change rooms or shower though. Ample parking and no fee to enter. Some of the road to access this place is unpaved but still quite safe. Over all highly recommended. Check out videos and images & Follow for more
