Pinewood Lodge

Me and my beautiful wife are spending our honeymoon at this amazing lodge, the rooms are clean the staff is friendly and we Definitely recommend this establishment to friends family and anyone looking for a getaway we will be spending our anniversaries here for sure nothing but a positive experience thank you for having us.

Very relaxing week spent in Cabin #4. Beautiful unobstructed view of the lake. We enjoyed sitting on the deck, walking along the private beach, kayaking, paddle boarding and exploring the nearby hikes and small towns. Terrace and James (the owners) are very pleasant and helpful. Their staff members are also a pleasure to deal with. We would definitely like to plan another stay!

Went in August of 2022 with my wife for our 10 year wedding anniversary, booked for this year when we were checking out. Last year had just the basic room as that is all that was available at time of booking so we booked the Luxury Room for this year and plan to bring our daughter along as the resort has so many things she would love. Looking forward to August 18-20th!

Just spent 4 days 3 nights in the main lodge. Had a great time. Really nice beds and bedding and fluffy clean towels. Room was immaculate and well equipped. We bring our own meals and they have dishes and cutlery, microwaves and a fridge! Lovely owners! A must for winter fun and a nice getaway!

We had a pleasant weekend stay at Pinewood Lodge. Room was very clean and spacious. One feature ZI liked wad central air, which was essential for good night sleep. Bed was also very comfortable - firm with soft pillows.

There was a few mishaps but that was on my end of not understanding, so i won't be commenting on those because things happen:)
i stayed in chalet 5
the beds were terrific, very comfy, just made a lot of noise when moving.again, could just be a me problem.during the winter, there isn't much to do outside if it's super cold and the lake isn't frozen, but when it's frozen and not -35°C constantly, i'm sure it's terrific outside.i went to the indoor pool in the lodge, which was lovely.it wasn't too cold and the hot tub wasn't too hot.the steam room was lovely too.i didn't order any food there, so i don't know about that
if you go, please note to not use their green towels as pool towels, i had completely forgotten about the cards you get and can exchange for pool towels; you can get a charge for it because the water may bleach the towels and make them funny colours.luckily it was acted on pretty fast so it didn't bleach, but is definitely worth mentioning

the soaps in the bathroom are terrific, not much to say about those

the shower head is kind of low, as a 5'9 person it was around my head height, but the shower itself was pretty good

there isn't a lock in the bathroom door (in the cabin) so that would be something i'd change, but the front door locks so that's good.don't drink the tap water, very bad for you.there are signs up so it's okay

other than that, the view is lovely and its a great time! Would definitely recommend in the summer, as winter weather is unpredictable and being inside during -35 gets kind of boring eventually

Totally recommend.

First off, I want to say, yes it is a slightly expensive experience staying here, however you very much get what you pay for. We stayed in a chalet, and it was amazing, the mini spa or the hottub or whatever it was called was amazing, we made plans to go swimming in the pool but never did because of this thing.

The staff were all super friendly, I read in other reviews, that other guests had privacy issues during their stay, but I honestly think they're out to lunch.

We ordered the romantic dinner package, our supper was brought out to us, it was cooked perfectly, and was perfect.

The store is exactly what you would expect, small and a little overpriced however for a store in a resort area, the prices were fair.

Overall 10/10 the stay was perfect, we are planning on coming back next year!

Felt very uncomfortable as the lady from the front desk was walking around the deck with her headlight on while trying to have a fire. Not too sure about this place had to close all the blinds as we were afraid of staff peeping.

Amazing! Rooms are very nice, equipped with dinnerware, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker and fridge of course. Beds are exceptionally comfortable. We have a poolside room which is convenient. A back door to our own little patio with table and chairs. The pool area also has a hot tub and steam room. Very nice to be able to walk outside and be within reach of the beautiful lake. Definitely will be coming back.

Our 6th year in a row here as a family. Appreciate all the care and hard work they put into making it such a comfortable stay! Staff is excellent, deals with any concerns immediately, and very friendly and personable. Can’t ask for better. Looking forward to next year!

The rooms are amazing, the salt water pool/hottub is amazing, they even have a steam room. They rent out mini cabins/chalets aswell about 20 suits and half the suits on the floor are pool side which is really nice. Room service which was amazing and friendly.
The food was Oh My gosh, as good as it gets for me. The only down side is that it is kinda deffintly out of the way, but if you are looking for a nice relaxing treat it is worth it. I cannot say anything about the prices of the rooms as i do not know, but the food prices are 100% fair.

DO NOT STAY…. Privacy issues and do not know boundaries of personal space even when renting your own space.

Just bought firewood from here but it was good pine wood which burnt long, only needed 3 bundles for 5 days.

Wonderful place to stay. We stayed in the Spa Deluxe room by the poolside. Our room was clean and cozy. The food was excellent and service was phenomenal. Perfect weekend getaway.

Great getaway resort. Would recommend for couples. Food was really good. They also have BBQ's if you bring your own good. Hiking trails near by and sitting areas by the water to fish or catch a sunset. And there is a steam sauna.

My husband surprised me with a trip to the beautiful Pinewood lodge for my birthday. We had a wonderful relaxing time and it was just what we needed. We got stuck in a snow storm and the owners were wonderful about accommodating us for an extra night. We were able to get a hike in on our first day out before the snow starting falling and the waterfalls were just breath taking. The next two days were spent floating in the salt water pool watching the snow storm through the big beautiful windows and soaking in the hot tube. It was so cosy and relaxing and we had a wonderful time. Miss it already!

Amazing! If you want a great place to vacation with your family, this is it! We will be back time and time again!

Enjoyed our 2 night stay in one of the Lake front chalet. The 2 person jacuzzi tub and steam shower were definitely the highlights and contributed to a relaxing time. Also a nice hike at Sturgeon Falls. On the down side we slept in the downstairs bedroom (too much light in the main loft bedroom upstairs) and found the mattress quite uncomfortable. I would appreciate equal quality throughout.

If you want a weekend with your partner make sure to go to the cabins, don’t go to the spa… the kids are running around and screaming since 8 am. It’s more noticeable because most of the rooms face to the pool where the children play. The continental breakfast is a nice touch now that it is open, and the romantic dinner was also good.

Excellent stay! Great service and cabin was clean and small touches like candy bag and coffee ready to brew were nice. Even in minus 30 cabin was toasty warm. Also loved the hot tub and steam shower!

Excellent and very comfortable. I love their spa deluxe suite, calming and healing salt water pool and hot tub. Thanks again James and Terrance for the wonderful stay. Thanks to your staff for the best food and room service. Very safe with all covid restrictions in place.

- check out is at 11, and the restaurant which is room service only only opens at 11. There were sad pre wrapped muffins in the room.
-room was run down and outdated
- Could order food from a very limited menu until 5: 30pm or from another even more limited menu until 6: 30pm
- No restaurant dining
- Hallways were dark, lights off in a few spaces
- Requested late check out (11am is check out time). I was told they couldn’t accommodate that because there were too many ppls coming in later. However there were only 4 cars in the parking lot. Assuming not all Of the guest from those 4 cars requested late check out, it’s hard to understand why a late check out for us wasn’t possible.
- Overall a disappointing experience.

Very relaxing getaway vacation. The cabin was clean and well kept. They even provided 5-gallon drinking water! The beach was beautiful. It’s so serene and quiet. The water was too cold so we couldn’t take out a canoe. We really enjoyed staying there.

Cabin #2 felt like home the second we arrived.
The staff went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
Our walks along the lake shore and through the woods was amazing.
We were fortunate enough to cross paths with a Red Tail Fox and a few Geese.
I can not wait until we visit again.
I highly recommend the Pinewood Lodge for a place for you to recharge and or to reconnect.

Such a wonderful getaway! We saw a fox right along the road as we drove in. Staff were friendly and accommodating. They answered all our questions and have structured everything (including pool access) so everyone can have a safe and enjoyable stay. We stayed in Chalet 1 and it was a real treat. Clean and cozy, with a fully furnished kitchen. The on suite dry sauna was amazing. We got the "have it your way" pack and chose the snack, spa, and mug packages. Totally worth the money, the staff selections were great and the mugs are such a nice souvenir of our stay! The highlight of our stay was a front row seat to the northern lights! Right from our balcony we watched the aurora borealis dance above the frozen lake, two nights in a row! I would recommend the Pinewood Lodge to anyone looking unwind and get away from city life. We will be back.

We had a chalet on Dorothy Lake. It provided great privacy and all the necessities. We used the barbecue everyday. We also enjoyed walking on a trail. Quiet. No sirens. A beautiful night sky! Worth a return trip.

Best place I've ever stay in Whiteshell. The 2 person hot tub in room is just perfect. There no kitchen in the room, but there're dishes, utensils, cutlery, microwave and outdoor share BBQ. Nice food, sparking clean room, excellent customer service.

The Jacuzzi suite was awesome, very modern & well kept, and the rain shower was incredible! The staff at Pinewood are so friendly & helpful and made our stay even better. Thanks!
Pool, hot tub & breakfast room were closed due to COVID restrictions but we'll definitely be back for a few visits once everything is open again!:)

A stay at Pinewood Lodge (we stayed in a chalet #3 on the water) was a perfect fall getaway. The unit is well kept with all the necessities to make your stay comfortable. The view of the lake from all rooms in the chalet added to the overall great experience. Waking up in the loft bedroom and seeing the water and sky is a great feeling. The 5 chalets are clearly marked from the water each with their own coloured bench in front. We were the red bench chalet!

The Whiteshell Provincial Park had numerous hiking trails to enjoy during our stay.

My boyfriend and I stayed in chalet 3 from Dec 4th - Dec 7th for our 8 year anniversary and it was such a relaxing and cozy experience. The weather was quite nice the whole time, and watching all the birds come to the deck in the morning was great. Loved the scenery and vibes, the Christmas tree in the chalet was such a cute touch. Thank you for a great experience.

We had the BEST time at Pinewood! The chalet was beautiful, the scenery was perfect, the birds were fluffy and sweet and bossy! Our week there was the best idea we’ve had in ages. Thank you Terrace and James for such fantastic hospitality. We will definitely be back here.

Clean, serene, charming atmosphere, great customer service, not overpriced, nice amenities, great room and cabin choices with lots of space and everything you need - even barbeques! Close to lots of outdoor trails and fun! Highly recommend this lodge! One of my favorites. Always look forward to my stay.

It was a beautiful cabin, with a fireplace and it was excactly what we needed! We will definitely stay there again but not cook because there was no ventilation and it smoked up the place.

We rented a chalet for a winter Birthday get away for a few days and it was fantastic. Terrace and James were the perfect hosts and the chalet was clean, spacious, warm and cosy

Attend a pool party. Very nice area around pool and salt water pool was nice. Nice hot tub as well.
