Plaza Restaurant

Very disappointed in all the dishes we ordered. Very bland and tasteless. Have ordered from Plaza a number of times over the years and it's always been very good which is why I recommended it to my friends. I don't know what the problem was last night. A new cook maybe? The 3 of us were all disappointed and we spent almost $70.00!

Hadn't been to the Plaza in a number of years, very happy we opted to go there. The restaurant was quiet, lots of seating and clean. Could accommodate large gatherings. Great menu options. The food was awesome, staff friendly. I recommend this restaurant for Chinese food dining.

This used to be a favourite restaurant of mine. I've ordered online twice this year and my order got messed up both times. This last order tastes awful. I'll be throwing out most of it.

The place is 150metres from where I’m staying so there really isn’t any reason why I shouldn’t try the place, it seems to do steady business although primarily Caucasian clientele as the menu does cater to more Western tastes than traditional Chinese, that being said my food was fresh and tasty there does seem to be some mistakes on the menu as what I thought I was ordering was actually completely different than what I received regardless everything was quite palatable and I enjoyed my meal. The menu is very simple but straight forward it’s completely in English although I wish that there was a Chinese English menu so there are no misunderstandings about what people are ordering. The place is very clean and basic no garish decorations or furniture just a simple traditional diner type atmosphere, the place is family owned and operated and everyone participates to get he meals out to you as quickly as possible. Lots of street parking and a parking lot beside the restaurant if you don’t want to park on the street

Plaza has been my favorite for years, but in the last little while it's become even better (how is that even possible) ? ! It's been so good that we've ordered twice in the last week! And the new online ordering is so convenient! Take out has large portions and many dishes come with the sauce on the side to keep the food crisp.

Favorites are: Plaza beef - it doesn't stay crisp but it's sooooo good!

Beef with black bean sauce

The first time I dined in and was underwhelmed ; the service wasn’t great, portions were small, atmosphere was not nice. Tried them again but for takeout and everything was better! Large portions, and my order was ready for pickup quickly. I think they might prioritize takeout orders? I would order from here again, but for takeout only.

What happened to this place? 2 of 5 entree's were awful. Cannot mistake the taste of using old oil for deep frying the dry pork ribs. The fried meat dumplings were over powered by ginger - it was all you could taste. You must have some quality control to run a successful kitchen. Compare for yourself say to TS across from TD on Henderson. Please provide your reviews to assist others.

Very good service. Ordering online was super easy and handy. The food was hot and ready on time, with good service. They were helpful with making sure our person with allergies wouldn't have contamination. The food was a big hit with everyone in the office. Highly recommend.

#1 Restaurant needs a facelift.
#2 It was closed over Covid and this was our first time back. Food is still good but the service was horrible. As customers wanting to have a nice dinner on a Friday night, we were not a priority. Meanwhile take out orders and SKIP were non stop. Server kept reminding us how busy they were and expect a longer wait. Not a good sign. Perhaps at that point, we should have left. Maybe they should just be a take out joint?
#3 Food did take awhile, we had to ask for chopsticks at the counter, never had water refills, had to go up for take out containers and beg for our bill.
We were very disappointed. We will go elsewhere for Chinese from now on. We’d rather feel like a valued customer and be better taken care of and not be a burden.

First time ordering here, Food is ok. Good portions, #47 best seller dry beef is yummy however getting takeout made it a bit soggy so we air fried it and it got much better. Volcano beef was under special order dishes but I don't see what is so special about it, looked and tasted like regular Chinese stir fried beef. All in all, good place to order if you live close by, we drove 30 min from south end, not sure if we'd return.

Lunch special is awesome! Great beef. But don't forget to order the skinny spring rolls they are the best! Always friendly and nice.

Literally best chinese food in the city, tried a lotta places and this is so far the best by a longshot! Amazinggg
