Portage MCC Thrift Shop

Didn't know they were closing early. I didn't really get a chance to look around. Next time I am in Portage I'll stop in.

Prices are ridiculous.

They're overpriced. You're not selling your used, second-hand stuff to millionaires, you're selling it to regular people. $35 for a pair of used skates?

Stock minimal now with many items. Ok for giving - buying not so much! Waste of time really. Great staff!

I love Portage MCC, they have a little bit of everything and their volunteers are so friendly and always have a good thing to say. Mom came over from over sees and she can't get enough of the things she keeps on finding.

This is one of my favourite thrift stores in Manitoba, I try and stop whenever I’m travelling through. Particularly Good for housewares.

MCC was a fun store to be in yesterday my friend found some wonderful items I was long had a blast teasing Kevin I look forward to coming back in the future and taking another Gander through the store to see if there is hidden treasures to be found thank you to the staff for a wonderful experience

This is an awesome store I drove all the way from Bossier just to go shopping there the people that work there are amazing friendly happy always a good find great place to stop in the town to have a snack too

The store is very well organized with a smattering of everything. If you are looking for replacement lids or Crock-Pot liners, check them out.

Lots of stuff to choose from! The store was busy but clean & the staff? They were so nice & friendly! Glad I stopped in and shall return!

It's a thrift store. Never know what you can find. Household items and clothes seemed to be what was carried most.

This place is well-organized and had a lot of selection with a little bit for everyone. The clothing at this location was a little lacking during my visit but I will write that off as a timing issue until proven otherwise. My only complaint is the electronics they are selling are overpriced for what they are. A 19' square monitor with only VGA input is not worth $50, even in excellent used condition. My PC enthusiast partner and I enjoyed going through the boxes of components for the blast from the nostalgic past.

Great thrift shop. Lots of cool little treasures at very reasonable prices. The staff were awesome.

They have nice things but selling at outrageous prices. Especially for things that you bring home and use once or twice and they break. Everything they get is donated. They need to take into consideration people go there hoping to get things they need and can't afford to be paying so much. I just shake my head at the prices there. Seems super greedy to me.

More often than not we find such great treasures here! We love going as a family and the staff is always so friendly. Prices are VERY reasonable also!

The selection here is outstanding.wonderful old vintage peices to newer fun and modern houseware. The store has an open feel with huge selection, helpful labelled departments make for easy finds. Staff was upbeat, helpful and all smiles. Definitely recommend a stop at Portage MCC Thrift Shop!

This is a great place to volunteer, work, and shop! Very friendly staff and volunteers, and very unique and valuable donations! Thank you everyone for making this thrift store a gem in Portage la Prairie.

This is a great second hand store, their prices aren't crazy, their selection is quite good! I always head to the books or electronic area first and I always find something to purchase. If I find myself walking out without buying 2+ books, then I'm doing something wrong. Favorite store in Portage.

The store is clean and bright. There are lots of clothes, dishware, toys and books to choose from. Service was quick and friendly.

The amount of money I have saved shopping at this store! Benefit for me and also for MCC and our local community. It is amazing to see the impact the store has not only by donating money to other local charities and MCC Canada, but by helping out individuals in need as well. And yes I'm biased because I work there, but all the more reason for me to leave a review, as I see behind the scenes every day ;)

Great service, good pricing, friendly staff. All that being said, they need some QA for bagged toys. Hot Wheels with NO WHEELS? ! BAG IT!

Two DVD players: 0 for 2. I understand the stuff you get is free, but make sure what you sell to the public works properly. Also, this is why I will travel to thrift stores out of town. Keep the 20.00.
Add: DVD player 1: audio, but no video. DVD player 2: Sure it worked, for about 15 minutes of the movie.
We have cords that work, I understand and know how electronics work

Great place to thrift. Great selection, especially like the furniture store. Bought a great sewing machine for my daughter at a very very reasonable price.

New collections are coming on Tuesdays I guess. On Tuesdays its busy out there. Still when I talked with a staff, they said, they are not getting enough donations now. And that's why they don't have much items like before. Still it has some good items to buy.
Some people don't know, they have two shops. Both are very closer in Saskatchewan avenue itself. One shop is having front entrance which is smaller than the other shop which is having back entrance.

MCC stores are probably the best thrift stores to shop at. Staff are super friendly and they keep the store clean. Prices are most fair and selection is always updated. This store is definitely a gem in Portage La Prairie.

The staff is friendly, store is well organized, everything is properly labeled, the only problem is the cutlery and the shelves where they display the dishes, it's to wide if you want something that is in the middle of the shelf, you have to push or pile other items to the side and very, very carefully reach for the item that you want.

The staff here are very friendly and they do a great job of keeping the store shelves stocked and organized. I love that they label the toys and puzzles if they have been tested to work or have pieces missing, etc.

Good place to visit for reasonable shopping in Portage.you can also find new/unused item (all about luck).

Love MCC was so happy when they opened again. The one thing I do not like is how the prices have went up on some items. The tank tops $4 and up the kids cloths $5 and up. My understanding was places like MCC was ti help people that can't afford new items? I could ne wrong. None the less I shop there 2-4 days out if a month and I usually spend $50-$100 each time. The newer staff I notice aren't as friendly as the others were. These once watch me like I'm going to put something in my pocket or I get followed a lot. I really don't like that. The older ladies are friendly and willing to help. I wish the staff would say something to me if they have a problem and not start me down or follow me. Keep up the good work. And thanks you to all the volunteers that have put a lot of their own hours in so people of Portage can shop and have a clean store. So thanks you and I will continue to shop. Just please if you think someone is doing something wrong maybe approach them and try talking i bet you these people are not trying to do anything wrong. Everyone looks different and if people with brown skin offend you then maybe you shouldn't be working in a place that has 100 of different people in and out.

I love this place! You really get the best bang for your buck. I agree with other reviews that it's slightly more pricey than other thrift stores but as the owners replied, the prices get updated and you can find the same item at a discounted price in later weeks (not to mention this is already MUCH more reasonable than buying new). Some of the things I love: Great staff, VERY appealing presentation and a clean/tidy store. You can really tell they care. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5-star is because of the hours! I wish I could go there more often after work but it closes so early and weekend hours are limited.

The prices are getting ridiculous.they're not serving the poor people anymore.they're serving somebodies expensive lifestyle. $85.00 for a pair of USED boots.shame on you!
