Portage Meat & Sausage Deli

I have been looking for a good european deli and I found it!
So impressed when I went there for the 1st time last on August 2nd. I will definately be going there for my german meats!

My home away from Omas home. Excellent selection of imported goods you can’t find anywhere else besides the homeland. Their Wurst is the Best!

They have European meat, chocolate and many other European food items. If you need or want European food items, this is the place! Delicious food!

This is one of the last German meat markets left in Winnipeg. The Bockwurst is the best ever. I also picked up Salata a seasoned vinegar dressing.so light and tasty.
Went back for the fine liver wurst (so tasty) and chicken farmers sausage (great on the BBQ). So delicious

Amazing selection of German and eurpoean groceries. They make their own sausages. We tried Andouille and liverwurst. Both were delicious. Definitely recommended.

Nothing like having a German delicatessen in the are. So far the best cold cuts in the city including my favourite, head cheese. Reasonably priced and always an adventure!

Great selection of european products, fresh and smoked meats. They make their own Laberkase! Delicious!

I love this meat shop. You walk in and it smells like smoked meat, cheese and more. I do not live nearby so when I come I love the cold cuts, sliced cheeses you can order for lunch at home. The meat is fresh and just made breaded thyme large meatballs for my family. The best shop.

Very nice store that feels like 'the good old day's' when walking in. Gone many times for the dried sausage at the back, and for the $2 ish dollars each, it's a nice treat to enjoy from younger days, and it's so much cheaper than beef jerky in a bag from big companies. So nice to see that a decent small business is doing okay, and selling good food.

A lovely and charming shop! Hand sanitizer is at the door, a max of 5 customers allowed at once, and the staff is ALL wearing masks. Physical distancing signs are prominent. I can’t believe I live in Wolseley and have never been here before! I will be back

German foods abound! Authentic smokers, cookies and so much more. But the best are the in store meats. Mouthwatering and delicious.

Absolutely great deli with a vast selection of quality imported goods in all categories including baking items, toiletries, decorative items, seasonal, CDs and DVDs. The meat department is first class with assorted cuts of raw meat and a vast array of cold cuts and smoked items including in-house ones. There is a cheese counter, a large assortment of candies, chocolates and condiments. If looking for a German deli with friendly helpful staff, this Winnipeg establishment is Superb!

If your looking for an authentic German butcher this is the place to go. They have tons of things that really hit me with nostalgia. Thier sausages and cold cuts are simply amazing. There is even a small German candy section along with an isle full of all the mustards, jams and sauces you'd ever need to make a great lunch or supper. I always go here for 3 things, thier Hungarian sausage, black cat licorice and meat packages. This place has it all and with great customer service on top.

The andouille sausage is amazing! Nice little store. My only complaint is that the person working there wasn't wearing a mask and there was no sanitizer that I could find.

GREAT German Deli and grocery store. Looking for a real German Beer Stein / real German papers and magazines. This is the place. The deli serves made to order sandwiches they are very good and reasonably priced. Try the home image salads, potato.meat.herring.

Excellent little deli. The bratwurst is the best I've ever had anywhere. Their house made deli meats are absolutely delicious. I highly recommend paying a visit to this place.

Tried your store for the first time yesterday. Very impressed by the variety of German and Austrian-inspired cold meats. Your collection of European mustards just great and New York steaks were A+. Will recommend to my friends and family.

Best home made and smoked beef salami in Winnipeg. The smoked coarse liver sausage is also the best in Manitoba. You'll find a lot of german products here you wont find anywhere else in Winnipeg.

Great house made meat loaf, Smoked ham, pork roasts and cured sausage. One of the few places left in Winnipeg that still does it right. They also have lots of great German condiments and sweets.

Lots of imported German food and candy/chocolate that you can't get at too many other places. People working there seem very friendly.

Great meats and other European products, nice family run business. Would highly recommend. My favorite is bbq sausages, great for the grill.

This is the only place I go for Authentic German meat and sausage. Their weißwurst and smoked ribs are outstanding. This is a family run business. My mother took me here as a kid in the 60s and the quality has not changed. I highly recommend this place if you want a little taste of Europe.

Brought in some wild game meat to get processed by these guys, they did a very good job on the pepperoni sticks, breakfast sausage and salami we asked for. Pretty short turnaround time and high quality end product. This is our new go-to butcher shop for processing.

They are true masters of their craft

The employee served my cold cuts without gloves or washing of hands. He didnt seem very enthusiastic about the job either. I probably wont come back

Fantastic place. And great prices. I'm lost as to the people saying expensive. Imported mustard in a glass jar as cheap as grocery stores. Sausage and cold cuts cheaper then the competition (tenderloin, canters etc). I hate to assume but think people arent educated in current meat pricing. Great staff with no pressure attention to my needs. Everyone that was in the store found what the wanted and had a smile on their face (it's Wolseley so everyone is polite and happy). It was 1st time there and won't be my last.
