Prairie Eye Care - Winnipeg Optometrists (Northgate)

It is with my utmost pleasure writing this review on your building, business, and staff. Building itself is bright and clean. Receptionists are prompt and friendly. Asides from the fantastic optician, I want to recognize one of your front-of-house staff, Devin. From my appointment to my eyecare purchases, her expertise made my (usually stressful!) experience hassle-free. Devin assisted me in promptly booking myself in for an eye exam on short notice, and her knowledge on frames/face shape helped me carefully select frames with honest, non-bias opinions. Super quick turnaround/processing time for my special glasses too! I was so excited when she gave me the call that they were ready to be picked up - she has even followed up with me a few days after to ensure they were the right fit for me. Thank you for exceeding customer service to me, Devin - I love my new specs so much!

Kim helped me with my contact lenses. She was very knowledgeable, helpful and patient. Great staff and great location.

Was in a rush to send us out, did not even let us try the glasses, came back after 5mins to have it adjusted because it was tight and said that we need to book an appointment for the adjustment! They let us wait outside (freezing cold) until they let us in… if we did not have the warranty under their company we would’ve just went somewhere else!

Will definitely recommend Prairie Eye Care - Northgate to my friends and family. Dr. Owusu has provided excellent care for myself and my family for many years now. Staff are friendly and provide very good customer service.

I brought my 3 little kids in July 2021 for eye check up and I could say overall the experience was great. The staff are all professional and friendly, the place is clean, and the Dr. Lee was patient and awesome.
We also had a transaction in which we had to defer and cancel a purchase for an eyeglass with no problem. The refund of our payment was done swiftly.

Madiha was a great help! She took her time to help me find the perfect pair of prescription eye glasses that suited me! Excellent customer service from the moment you enter the office!

Went for an exam during Covid. Everything was clean, the service was quick and I had no issues. The doctor even double checked some things just to be sure. Overall great experience.

Dr. O has been our family eye doctor for many years now. Always friendly, professional and treat patients as family. Staff at this location provides awesome customer service all the time. Will definitely go back when it's time for our next eye check up.:)

I always have appointments at Prairie Eye Care at Northgate, each time I go there I am always greeted by the kind staff and always look forward to going back for my next appointment. My doctor is Dr. Lee, he's very polite and kind. A perfect doctor to book my appointments with.

I can't describe just how much I'd recommend Prairie Eye Care, I've been coming here for 6 years and I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Owusu and his team. They make going to the eye doctor not just painless, but enjoyable. It really does feel like you're just visiting your friend, because you are. Prairie Eye Care really is the 96' Bulls of optometry.

Eye exams are $135 at Prairie Eye Care. Oakley Optical is only $90 for the same exam. Bought eyeglasses as well as prescription sunglasses and this place is much more expensive than most other places.

I had a wonderful experience at Prairie Eyecare, as always. Prompt customer service, clean facility, huge selection of frames. They follow all COVID protocols. I felt very safe. I called for an appointment and got in on the same day. I was greeted with a smile, received great care and left 20 minutes later with my glasses in hand. Thanks to the entire team. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Unfortunately, I was given the wrong prescription for my new glasses, a. 25 difference made my eyes feel tired from the strain of a higher prescription. I didn’t figure it out til I moved provinces and went to an optometrist in BC after several months. Plus the lenses were so thick. I compared the technology they used at Prairie eye to the ones I’ve gone to here in BC and they have very outdated lens technology. I called to ask if they could be redone (before I found out about the faulty prescription) since I wasn’t even warned how thick they would be. I should’ve at least been told of other frame models that would help hide the thickness. $250 down the drain. I switched back to my old glasses since my prescription didn’t change. They didn’t diagnose me with dry eye which was making my vision blurred.

My bf also received services and found out after going to an optometrist in BC that he was misdiagnosed as well. More money down the drain. He had to get new specialized glasses that was specifically targeting his eye fatigue. If we didn’t find out and continued wearing these glasses with the wrong prescription we would both be worse off in our eye health.

Poor sevice i phoned & spoke your receptionist to book an appointment for myself & for my husband 2 weeks ago and it turned out that they didn't book it. We're really upset because we took a day off for this appointment. It's not our fault if you have glitch in your system and very unreasonable and waste of time.

The staff at Prairie Eye Care is very friendly, helpful and has a great sense of style. The optometrist Dr Kosowski is thorough and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Prairie Eye Care for all eye care needs!
