Prairie's Edge

Generally great food, professional and friendly service and an amazing location. However I have had some horrific breakfasts there and won't go back for anything other than dinner. Prices have recently risen disproportionately to any
improvements to the menu. Used to be my go-to, now it is a solid plan B.

Visited Prairie's Edge twice in the last month. Once during the day to work inside and once for dinner with my husband. The dinner was quiet (which I appreciated) and we had a great view of the incoming storm. We both had the pickerel and fries - delicious! Great service, too!

One critique is that during the first visit, the staff were unable to share the wifi password because they didn't know it. Made my visit much shorter than intended.

Always a pleasure coming to this place. Great food, prices are a little on the high side but the atmosphere is fantastic!

Mediocre pub food. Portions were a acceptable size. Nice setting overlooking the duck pond. Waiter had to be searched for after a rather long absence to order dessert and again to pay the bill. I appreciate waitstaff not hovering, but disappearing for extended periods is a problem.

Absolutely terrible. Four of us ordered the Prime Rib and Steak sandwich. One of us lots of meat, the rest very small amounts. Some had mushrooms and onions while the rest had none. I dislike inconsistent service and quality.
Service was slow and we waited forever to have our order taken. Made reservations and brought our out of country guests. Used to be good.
We were told they were out of pickeral, yet other tables were served this fish.

My wife's soup was half filled and not hot.

Again, thoroughly disappointed.

Management does not reply to poor reviews. That speaks for itself.

Took my 97 yr old Grandmother here for brunch. I made reservations and we were seated fairly quickly. I ordered eggs and a toasted cinnamon bun, turns out they didn’t have any so ordered French toast which was average. My Grandmother ordered a bagel sandwich and hash browns. The sandwich was really good but the hash browns looked like they weren’t cooked at all. I kept trying to get our waitresses attention but she never came back to check on us, I had to get up and ask someone else to send back the hash browns. And honestly when they came back they really didn’t look any different. All in all I was a little disappointed and expected a little more.

Reliably good food, best seating is in summertime on the patio. Situated in the Kildonan Park the surrounding view is gorgeous. One of my fave places to go in Winnipeg. You will want a walk in the park later. Lots of parking.

Service is absolutely atrocious. We walked in Sunday afternoon around 4 (there was 1 other table seated in the entire restaurant). Woman at the front (assuming host or server) asked us if we wanted inside or patio, we chose inside because it was incredibly hot. She then stared at us blankly and asked if we would be done by 6. (going to assume they had a reservation at 6 but they didn’t say anything and the question was rather strange). We agreed to be out by 6 and they sat us right next to the only other table in the restaurant. The table happened to be very loudly talking about some controversial topics so my partner walked up to the front counter where numerous staff were working and ask if we could move to a table further away from them so we didn’t need to hear their conversation so loudly. They all spent about a minute just staring at him before telling us they “needed to check if anything was available”. Again, we are the only 2 tables in the entire restaurant and they’ve made no mention that they’ve completely reserved. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere, this isn’t the first time I’ve gone and the service has been horrible.

They use to be so much better! The menu is smaller now and the food quality is so much lower than before. Their menu prices are not updated either.

The restaurant is located inside Kildonan park and over looks the duck pond which is nice. There also is the option of eating out on the patio which is nice. The supper menu doesn't have alot of options and I felt is was a bit pricey considering soup or salad is not included with your meal and no bread or rolls. The breakfast and lunch menu looks like a better option at this restaurant.

Food and drinks were great! Lovely atmosphere in the park and our server Emilia was so friendly and personable, will be back!

Great place for gathering friends. Located inside Kildonan Park. Nice view. There are plenty of free parking spots.

I've had burgers and Reuben sandwich here in the past. ALWAYS consistent.
A hidden gem.

Went to prarie edge last night. Ordered take out off the dinner menu. We got three orders pf Pickerel and French fries. One fried chicken burger came out to 122$. I could of got a better chicken sandwich at burger King and better fish at fergies fish and chips. The food was mediocre.

Very nice atmosphere and good wine selection. Was a bit hard to get to in Kildonan Park and the food was a bit dry. However, it was flavourful.

Went for hot chocolate with the kids after skating and decided to stay for dinner.
Burger was good, kids menu was super reasonable and large portions. Service was great.
