Brena always does a great job highlighting, cutting and styling my hair! When I first came in she listened carefully to my needs and helped me figure out exactly what I wanted. She knew I didn't want to come in every 3 weeks and chose highlights and a style that allowed me to visit just three or four times a year. She keeps up-to-date on products and trends in her field and is very skilled. I highly recommend her!

I booked both hair and make-up services with Prep Hair for my August 2022 wedding and I couldn’t be happier with how things turned out! Right from the start, all of my communication with Brittany was extremely efficient and helpful. She was able to answer all of my questions so I had nothing to worry about.

Both Carly and Isabelle were so fun to work with and made sure that everything was perfect. They did hair and make-up for me, my 4 bridesmaids and my mom and everyone was very happy with the results! They were super accommodating and professional and overall the whole experience was great! I would highly recommend Prep Hair if you are looking for hair and make-up services for your wedding!

I booked an appointment at Prep to get a hair cut (my first hair cut in about a year). I had seen Prep recommended on social media and I decided to give them a try. Rhonna was my stylist and she cut my hair exactly how I wanted it (although better, because I told her the basics of what I wanted and then to do what she thought would be best for my hair). She was able to get rid of all my dried, scraggly ends and keep as much length as possible, and she added some shape around my face. As I went at noon during the week, I thought parking would be an issue but there were quite a few spaces available in front of the salon on Lilac. I'll definitely go back to see Rhonna again for another hair cut – and I won't wait a year next time!

I’ve been coming to see Megan for about a year and a half now and I never want to go anywhere else. Megan is kind, thoughtful, and just lovely to be around for a four hour appointment. Megan remembers little details and has worked with me to take my hair out of boring and into something new and fun. People compliment me daily about my hair and I’m happy to tell them who did it.

I had a wonderful experience with Megan for my haircut. She was so friendly and held good conversation. Did an amazing job on my hair. Had great suggestions. Will definitely be coming back!

I have been to Prep 3 times now and am super happy with my cut and colour. Paige is great - she really listens to what I want and then offers helpful suggestions to improve the look. My pixie cut always falls into place and the blonde highlights are natural and healthy.

I used prep hair for my wedding and was amazed that they captured the natural look I wanted. The ladies that came out were so easy going, nice to talk with and honestly it was one the best experiences of the wedding I couldn't thank them enough ️
10 out of 10 stars I highly recommend them for any occasion but definitely, if you are getting married or have a special event coming up, I would contact prep hair they do it all ️

It was my first time at prep hair and as soon as I walked in I was greeted! All the ladies there were so friendly and stylish! Courtney is my stylist and always makes my hair dreams come true! Prep is so much bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside and is very cozy and aesthetic!

I saw Janessa for a colour and cut. I can be a little particular with my cuts but Janessa listened to exactly what I wanted and made sure I was happy with it before I left. She did a wonderful job with the colour as well, and based it off the inspiration pics I had, but was very honest (but nice) about what was going to be able to be done In a single session. Definitely recommend seeing her, she’s great!

Rhonna did a great job cutting my hair! I've always heard great things about Prep Hair over the years, but yesterday was my first time taking the plunge. I enjoyed her kindness and soft-spoken nature as we chatted about her hairstyling experience, recent vacation to Vancouver, and restaurant recommendations. It felt like I was talking with a good friend. And of course, she listened to my wishes about getting face-framing pieces with long layers and gave me exactly what I wanted. I enjoyed the dark, moody vibe of the salon that was accompanied by bright coloured products and various plants. It made me feel so much at ease. I'll definitely be back!

Carly Christenson is awesome. Cuts it just the way I like it every time. Well worth the trip from out of town.

Julie is a great hairstylist! My hair is very straight and she beautifully created layers on my hair to add volume. She also recommended hair products to volumize the hair. I also love the salon ambiance with lots of plants in it!

Great experience after 2 years of no haircuts! My hair was in quite a massive state! It took courage to dive in and deal with it. Best part.no judgement as to why I'd left it for so long.and oh yeah.the hair washing was great! So I left there light headed, sort of speak, and happy I took the time to deal with my mass of hair! Always a good experience at Prep hair! Tori is so good at her job and she lets you know how much she is taking off your ends and is mindful of your hair type/conditions and will use products that are right for you!

I live in Toronto but only get my hair cut when I come to Winnipeg! Once you find someone you trust with your hair you just can’t do elsewhere!

All the staff was super friendly, as well as the stylist I had (Isabel) was very sweet throughout The whole experience.

I came to see Megan after four years without a haircut. Megan worked patiently around years of box dye and hair that needed about an hour of thinning out in order for it to have movement again. I left with hair that was a dead ringer for my natural colour and that had life again. She was so wonderful to work with, and really took the time to make sure my hair was just right. I can’t stop playing with my hair!

Alyssia was absolutely amazing, first time seeing her and she got my colour perfect, kept me calm and was super clear with what she was doing with my hair. I will 100% be back to see her!

I made an appointment with Megan. She was incredible. I was super impressed with the salon. Just off of Corydon in a cute three story on Lilac street. Megan was professional, informative and basically a colour magician. I loved the experience and will be going back.

Got my first beaded weaved in extensions (hope I described that right lol) by the beautiful Brena, she was professional, funny and a breath of fresh air. It was an experience this mama needed. 10/10 recommend.

She took the time to address my concerns, explained all possible options, and gave really good recommendations as to what would look best with my skin colour and hair length! Brandi is the most amazing stylist. I’ve only been to her twice so far but I’m never going to anyone else. She dyed my hair back to brown from blonde, and I was so nervous until I got there. She made sure I was comfortable and walked me through every step of the process, and my hair looks amazing! I’ll never go anywhere else.

I debated leaving this review for some time because I know people that have worked here and also people that love going here! Prep has a wonderful reputation and I fully believe it is for a good reason. However, I went there in the summer and had a surprisingly bad experience. I'm sure Prep can look up who I saw so I won't name the person I went to. However, prior to my appointment the hair dresser texted me saying they can do my hair the way I was hoping to, seeing pictures and all. I also told her my hair is a bit damaged but I was just asking for some highlights in a medium caramelly blonde. Then at the appointment, the hair dresser was acting surprised at my request and straight up admitted she "doesn't always read" the appointment messages. She kept leaving me to clearly talk to someone in the back about my hair, and seemed to be in a panic. She claimed my hair was severely damaged (I promise you, it wasn't - about half of it was virgin hair regrowth). I genuinely think she saw the layers in my hair and thought they were breakage for some reason. She was clearly really unhappy. The whole appointment felt uncomfortable and like she didn't know what to do, and at one point she tried to blame me by saying that I didn't leave my name on my messages to her (yet you texted me and my initial message was under my time slot that I booked so that doesn't make sense), which I thought was unprofessional.

In addition, I told her I have a cow lick in my bangs and that she had to take that into consideration when she cuts them. She proceeded to cut them about five minutes later, and literally went "oops" and cut them crooked. Her reaction? "Must be that pesky cow lick! ". To make my bangs straighter, she had to cut them reaaaally short. She was not apologetic and she seemed like she didn't really care. My hair looked barely changed by the end minus the unwanted micro bangs, and I was considering leaving before she was even done.

It cost me just under $300.00 with the tip. I don't know why it was so hard to complain, I guess because the whole situation was uncomfortable with how she was acting. Instead, I've been telling people by word of mouth not to see her. I hope other people have a better experience than I did - maybe it was an off day, but it was enough to sadly not make me want to come back again.

I want to say this is a beautiful salon and I was really excited to book an appointment with them, based on the rave reviews. I unfortunately took it upon myself to give myself cut/bangs while in quarantine. I booked an appointment at 10: 30 with Brena because she was the only one available, but based on the reviews and her instagram I thought I would be happy with her work. While booking the appointment, I noted that I had cut my own hair (poorly) and wanted a bouncy blow out and to fix my curtain bangs. The moment I got there Brena seemed unhappy to be there, and made a few comments about how it was really early (why confirm the appointment if you didn't want to do it?). The attitude she gave off made me feel like she really did not want to be cutting my hair. She used very little products (which I thought was strange for my coarse, frizzy hair type) and did not give me the bouncy blow out I asked for. I unfortunately will not be coming back.

Carly is a lovely, friendly professional hairstylist who takes the time to understand her clients hairstyle needs. She’s well trained and has tremendous experience. My favourite stylist!

Marie Ariola was very friendly and gentle with my hair. She cut and styled my hair exactly the way I had asked for!

Brandi is the best! She knew exactly what to do for my hair type, style, and colour. She took the time to explain each step, how the services will affect my hair, and recommended the best products for my hair to take care of it. She is so talented, and she cares about her clients' hair.

Got a hair cut, as my hair was very dry and dead. Loved what Lauren did my hair feels amazing and healthy.

I get my hair cut and coloured by Beej and I always love the way it turns out. She takes the time to explain my options and gives me suggestions when I don’t know what I want to do. I definitely recommend going here to get your hair done!

I made an appointment with Prep Hair a few weeks ago and wish I hadn't. My hairdresser said my hair will cost around $300 for a full head of highlights (which I thought was a little expensive but I had read such amazing reviews so I thought it would be worth it). After sitting in the salon for 4 hours and spending $500, I could not tell a difference in my hair whatsoever. Since the salon was closed the following day (Sunday) I decided to send the salon a direct message via Instagram stating how disappointed I was. Instead of calling me back the following week, the owner of the salon sent me a voice message through Instagram messenger - not once did she sound apologetic, instead she blamed my hair saying the color was too dark to lift. I am so disappointed by their lack of professionalism and I think it was a waste of my time and money.

I keep getting text messages from prep saying I booked and thanks for visiting when I haven’t booked with prep hair in over 4 years

Prep Hair is really a cute, comfortable and very welcoming place. My husband has had a haircut there twice and I decided to give it a try. I had balayage and a haircut with Tori and I just loved it! Tori understood completely what I wanted and is an awesome professional. My hair looks pretty, incredibly natural and healthy! We also engaged in such a nice conversation that it felt like we had known each other for a long time. I highly recommend Tori’s services and Prep Hair.

Let me start by saying I absolutely love this place! I went here last night for the first time and I will never go anywhere else for my hair needs! Carly did such a wonderful job, she worked magic with what I had going on before! She also recommended some products for my hair. I love how she was very into making sure my budget was going to allow what she needed to do and she didn’t push any products on me. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is willing to put in a little extra money to get amazing hair!

Kaitlin was amazing, as always! I decided to go in a different direction style-wise on this visit, and it was so helpful for Kaitlin to give her input and advise me on how she thought it would work best for me:)
I also always appreciate the products Prep has, and I left with a new bottle of the Fatboy shampoo that I'm very much enjoying so far!
