Wow.so impressed with their kind customer service. Took a family of newcomers to Canada to withdraw from their account for the first time. They had forgotten their password etc etc. The teller was extremely patient and we got it done! Definitely recommend.

Staffing is insufficient to handle demand. 20 minutes to get to a teller.

Used atm. It’s an atm. Not open 24 hours. Don’t even deal with RBC just needed cash.

I just had a terrible experience here.
RBC locked my business account for suspected fraud.
After waiting forever on hold the RBC advisor told me to go into the branch to unlock it with my photo ID.

I did that. After being there for 20 minutes while the teller clerk was on the phone with RBC, they tell me I need 2 pieces of ID. (contrary to what the person on the phone told me)

I leave frustrated, but come back a half hour later with 2 pieces of ID. The person I was dealing with first purposely avoided eye contact with me after they saw me walk in and they promptly left.

After waiting in line, I came to another tell clerk.
Over the next 30 minutes I re-explained multiple times what was going on. The person told me I needed to have my wife also come in. They also told me that I needed to put more money in the account before they would unlock it. (I had no access to the account) Little did they know, there was plenty of money in the account because the deposits didn't hit the account until they unlocked it. Eventually she unlocked it and saw the actual balance. I thanked her, but she was very rude and basically didn't respond to me.

In all, this whole fiasco cost me 3 hours of my time on a very busy day. (I operate a business)

There was no apology.
No, "sorry for the inconvenience".
I believe they profiled me because I do not look that old, was wearing a ball cap and a Yoshi (Nintendo) shirt and therefore was up to no good and not the actual business owner that pulls in the amount of money that I do.

RBC's customer service is the absolute worst.
Do better RBC!

We will be moving banks.

Rbc is the the worst to deal with small business. My husband was just at the kenaston branch to unlock his business bank account because a check hadn't gone through and we were overdrawn. The person on the phone told him he needed to go into a branch with 1 piece of ID to unlock his account. He shows up with one piece of ID and they refused to unlock it because he needed 2, even though that's what the person on thr phone said. Then he goes back with a second piece of ID and they said they can't unlock it because he wasn't the primary card holder. Their customer service is the worst and they have no care to people that are long term customers. I've been with rbc since I was 7, you think they would show some care or concern with loyal clients.

Charged me ~$1000 in NSF fees and closed my account while I was in the hospital.
Took me hours of calling and being bounced around to different departments to even learn about this and get any info about what happened.
I was told to contact the branch and after multiple tries trying to get past the 'virtual assistant' which would send me to arbitrary departments that couldn't explain why my account was closed, someone transferred me directly to the branch and past the v.assistant and told me if I got a voicemail to leave a message. The inbox was full.

It’s impossible to contact the branch and when one is at the branch, they provide incorrect information which leads anyone to go back to the branch to do the simplest things.
It’s kind of hard to see a bank that holds our hard earned money, offering no way to talk to them.
Just imagine if you are in an emergency, eh?

BTW, I don’t live in Winnipeg and this is the nearest branch for me.
