Red River Co-op Food Store

First of all this mall has it all.everything is accessible by entering through the co-op.
I love this co-op.fabulous butchers that cut a steak to your liking.a bakery that makes beautiful customized cakes.
Clean, large aisles.
Easy parking.
Friendly cashier's.

I really do feel sorry for the staff members I encountered during checkout today. The alarm for their security entrance had been set of by a child, which was causing this staff member to be in distress. They seemed very unwell. Please improve supporting your staff because I never want to see someone as upset and miserable as that poor soul. They really hate working there. I could see it on their face. Please give your staff a raise in pay for all the hard work they do for your very profitable business model of overpricing food. You can pass that message along to the producers of products that enjoy inflating the price of food for the sake of maximizing profits.

One way to ruin a sub putting to much butter or margarine on it won't be getting it from there again.

Love the local produce and local products available at this store. My go to for fried chicken or nice marinaded meats. Also great chicken wings and real fresh fried chicken. Sushi bar isn’t as good as the sobeys on Taylor.

I like Co-op they are reasonably priced & have a lot of fresh stuff, plus I love supporting local. Most of the staff is quite nice & helpful. However recently I started getting stuff from the deli & the people who work behind it are always extremely rude at this location, a lot of attitude for no reason & one lady low-key yelled at me annoyed when I waited patiently to be served, no other customers in sight & then when asked I replied simply saying 500grams of turkey shaved please, to which they then yelled at me shaved or sliced, I replied shaved & they proceeded to roll their eyes, they then finished slammed it down and walked away not asking if I needed anything else. If you have social anxiety I would avoid the deli at this location. I had to start going to another location whose deli staff is actually decent.

Thanks to the manager who helped so much arranged the delivery of my needs in times of challenging situation!

Excellent produce, deli & meat depts. The pharmacists are outstanding! Very knowledgeable! Staff are all very helpful & seem to like working there.

Good variety of produce, fresh meat, and other grocery items. The frozen freshwater fish from lakes in northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan, and the fair trade, cooperative-produced coffee are standouts.

Edit: was watched by security and remember they don’t have plastic bags so I bring a backpack. I am ok with being watched but it shouldn’t be obvious. Rather spend my money elsewhere. Plus long time local and frequent shopper here, felt like a terrible paying customer. No thank you.

Great grocery store. Many local products, meat selection is much higher quality than other stores, and has a great bakery. Only issues are produce sales often dont get updated in the system (the clerks will fix it if you ask) and the self checkouts are very finicky and the clerk for them is often busy.

Nice store it was too bad they were advertising cherries and none were available because they didn't receive a shipment but had advertised they were on sale.

Competitive food prices, and of course, love that it's a co-op! I wish more businesses were like this one. The best thing about this place is that they support local Canadiana and Manitoban businesses. While the location is quite a ways from where I live, it is definitely worth it to me to make the trip.

Excellent store. Very modern and spacious with an incredible produce section. Great butcher counter. I would highly recommend shopping here!

The layout of this location works well. The shelves tend to be well stocked. The staff are friendly and helpful. The option to check out and leave into the mall or checkout and leave for the parking lot are great.

The deli staff were particularly helpful.

Sorry, forgot to take pictures. I've been there before although it is not our usual grocery stop. Our daughter lives near there and wanted to do a restock, since we were in the neighborhood we took her since she doesn't have a car. It is a well stocked large store. The shelves were full, lots of almost everything. We couldn't find unscented laundry detergent, aside from that all the staples were fully stocked and fresh. Bread, dairy, meats.lots of dry foods, canned even a good array of snack stuff I shouldn't be buying. As for prices, well, I haven't been doing the shopping for 2 years really, but my wife who has been the designated shopper tells me the prices were in line with the safeway or superstore we usually visit. The lot was clear, well cleaned, not too busy. Decontamination processes were standard and applied. All in all, I'd go back.

Very poor experience here, cashiers aren't friendly at all! And one of the stocking staff members (wont name names) was extremely rude to me and snapped at me when I asked her where something was.will never shop here again! This isn't the first time this has happened here.shame on co op for hiring such poor attitudes to work for them!

The newly renovated store is beautiful and clean. Had a wonderful experience at the checkout with Ghadir they were very friendly and patient. A very good experience overall!

The fact that they only have credit card options for theyre contactless pick up or deliveries is ridiculous. I have no credit card and health problems. I'm hoping soon there will be debit option for those like me because I will not bring my business here anymore.

The store was clean and organized. The signage is good and it is easy to find things. This store makes it easy to maintain social distance and to feel safe.

Thank you for selling local foods. Purchased Otterburne greenhouse strawberries and they are delicious. Have also purchased Manitoba tomatoes and cucumbers and I won’t buy any others now. Of course you also sell Bothwell cheese and Manitoba pizza. All of these thing are in our house right now. Thank you.

Very clean and well maintained store, well stocked and like the keto selection. Pricing throughout the store is a little high on most items, but will shop there again.

Staff are friendly when you can find them.
The new layout means guessing which section a frozen meat item is, and of you guess wrong you're going all the way across the store again.
Nothing is labeled very well, and the selection since the reno is not great.

Really enjoy my shopping experience. It is a very clean place with lots of vegan options and sugar free options. I appreciate they are not like sobeys where they are paranoid and constantly wiping things and spraying chemicals all over the place. It makes shopping more relaxing. I can go in and out very quickly for me time matters. The prices are getting better keep it up.

Great selection of meats. Went in for some steak; ended up with steak, chicken breasts, chicken thighs, farmer sausage patties and a garlic sausage. Great price on all which made it irresistible of a deal.

The store on Grant is very well designed. However, not a single member of several that I spoke to knew the password to their free WiFi. Why bother even having it then? Also, if you compare food prices with Walmart up the street you usually pay more on the same item. Coop is usually 50 cents or more on food products. That adds up if you are on a budget. Staff not particularly friendly I find.

Click & Collect has been really good. We've used it since the spring 2020 and other than some startup glitches its been good.

Nice clean store. They've had great sales the 2 times I've gone there. Unfortunately, 2 of the staff we've encountered so far have not been pleasant. My first visit, it was near closing when we were checking out, this one cashier in one of the lanes we lined up in did not seem to want us in her line. She was the only one with noone else lined up after the customer she was helping, but she would look at us and then would look around at the other lanes and then repeat with a unpleasant look on her face. So we moved to another lane. Thinking maybe she was just about to end her shift after the customer she was helping, but nope, others lined up at her lane and she seemed happy to help THEM. We didn't want to turn it into a big thing so we just paid for our stuff in the other lane and left. Went there again today, the flipp app shows that there was a promotion in their international flyer, so we asked about it while paying for our stuff. Our cashier did not know anything about it (which is fine because she did ask for help) and proceeds to ask the lady at customer service about it. Before showing her the app with the promotion she proceeds to say 'we don't have that here' (mind you there was a spot on the shelf for that product with the tag), so we assumed maybe they ran out. We show both cashiers the promotion on the app and then she proceeds to say 'oh no we don't do that here, we don't do that' and pretty much brushes us off. So we say 'okay, thank you for your help'. We then get in the vehicle and call another location to ask. Thanks to the gentlemen at the other location, he confirmed that they do have that promotion, and if one location has such a promotion, it is more than likely that the other locations do the same considering that there aren't many other Co-op grocery stores in our city. A complaint will be made not due to the fact that the product was not available, but because of the poor customer service we've received so far.

Eventhough you will have to pay more for most items, even if they are on sale, even when the store suppose to be locally owned, and operated, the selections are better than other stores.fresh, new, and different.you should not be disappointed

After the whole store's renovated 2 years ago, they are now looking really nice, clean and more variety items to select from.
Also, staffs are friendly too!

Clean and good selection. Staff has always been very friendly and knowledgeable. It seems like much of the cashier staff has been with this organization for many years and I appreciate that.

These pictures are ancient, the Co-op at Grant Park is, STILL under construction. I hope when it is finished it is more inviting, I am missing the former Safeway decor.

The store has been going through renovations a long time. Too long. Meat selection and produce selection is limited.

Co-Op is a great establishment that has everything I need and some rather unique items in their bakery and meat departments that I cant get anywhere else.currently undergoing renovations as they have for quite awhile now these days. They will be over soon.

The only unfortunate part of my visit was the fact that there were a few items I couldnt find that I really wanted and usually get, but the workers were very accommodating in letting me know that it was only due to the fact that they have a limited selection due to the construction and when it is done, they will be back with all of my favourite products and more.
