River Oaks Golf Course

Played in a fun tourneyment, course in nice shape, greens soft and putting true, fairways decent, some teeboxes need work with trees and grass, staff were great.a plus time!

Never going to come to this course again staff don’t care about you only want your money acting manager Caitlin screamed at us for waiting for people in front of us we tried to voice our concerns to the cart boy goof working the pro shop and he basically laughed in our face I brought a new group of golfers here and the staff completely ruined their first golf experience DO NOT COME HERE!

I don’t typically write reviews, but this is the place that deserves the worst review in Manitoba. First time ever at River oaks… Rude and unprofessional staff, manager who was on an “authority high” (named: Katelyn) playing Marshall for the day yelled at our group of players while we practiced putting at the green, because the next tee was backed up by 10 people.

This will be the last time I attend river oaks, they don’t deserve your buisness. When I addressed the situation to Katelyn a few holes later, she had nothing to say but instead took what I had to say to her with a grim smirk, along with the gentlemen at the club house when I returned my cart.

The staff don’t care about your buisness, so don’t support this place.

I had a bad experience with the course marshal. Me and my buddy are not great at golfing, but we were keeping pace with the group in front of us, even having to wait at points, which we didn't mind. Come hole 8, me and the marshal had a friendly conversation about finding balls. All of that to say, we were respectful and keeping pace up to this point. Then, after having to wait for the group in front of us on hole 8, (which we didn't mind) once we hit the green, the marshal tells us to take one putt then move on because there was a big gap in front of us. I questioned him politely, to which he held firm. We then took our one putt and moved on. Well, the group in front of us was still on hole 9 when we got there, and well we didn't have to wait for them on hole nine, we were right behind them with 0 gap. I was pretty pissed when we got to hole 9 for obvious reasons, which cause me to shoot terrible.

So after a great 7 holes, the last two were absolutely ruined, all so we could get off hole 8 maybe a minute sooner. I paid the same fee as everyone else, and I have the right to finish each of the holes.

I'm sure this was a one off thing, but still left a very sour taste in my mouth.

Course is a good course for beginners. Staff was friendly but slow service. Watched kitchen staff drop tongs on ground and continued to use them for handling food. There was no flow on the course. No marshal to keep a pace. Had to stop at hole 13 of 18 due to to waiting too long at tee boxes. Other then that decent tee time rates. I'm in no rush to revisit this course anytime soon. Was disappointed.

I went there last weekend and that was my first and last time ever going there, the Marshall/manager (named Kaitlyn) was super disrespectful yelling at us and threatening to kick us out of the course without asking us what was going on, all I have to say is don’t ever go to this course……. Good luck to who ever goes there

I’ve been to river oaks golf course multiple times and by far this was the worst experience I’ve ever had, “acting manager/ marshal” for the day katelyn was on a ego high and yelled at my group threatening to kick us off at hole 4 swearing at us for no reason what so ever as the group in-front of us was waiting on the group in front of them…. As we proceeded to complain about our experience the entire staff had smirky smiles as they heard our concerns. I highly recommend everyone to go to a different course to spend your hard earned money.

Course is in good shape. Pace is an issue. One group backed up the course for hours, the staff don’t care at all about that. The end game, I guess, is to make an amazing course that no one will have time to play.

You pay $80 for a round of golf and no one’s around to keep pace of play. Have golfed twice both rounds were over 5hrs with skipping 2 holes waited on average 10-15min per hole to tee off. Unacceptable for a higher end golf course.

Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience at River Oaks June 14,2pm. When we arrived at the course and ask when we should order food while we are golfing. The staff said to call on the 7th hole and it will be ready once we are finished the 9th. The staff was told by the manager Kaitlyn not to serve the public because they have a tournament. We went into the clubhouse 20 minutes after calling for food and denied. The 4 kitchen staff are all sitting around talking and nothing cooking. Terribly disappointed and we will never return to a course with such rude management. They had no problem selling alcohol with no food. Kaitlyn needs management training. So much for me booking a tournament at River Oaks.

Played my first round yesterday during twilight special.course is really nice.fun challenging holes.staff friendly.service was great.lost a club cover.sigh.that one on me.

Comfortable, country golf course. Friendly staff. We got away right at our tee time, and played along at an easy pace. Greens are in good shape. There are trees and water enough to make it challenging. Had a sandwich and drink in the clubhouse after. Pretty nice!
