Ive finally found my eatery! The food is soso tasty! And the people who run Roughage are just the nicest!

The best exclusively vegan restaurant in Winnipeg, Roughage serves up a small, but well executed, selection of comfort foods. I would not say it is budget-friendly, however it is worth noting that everything is made from scratch from the seitan "meats" to the sauces to the strawberry sauce in the milkshake, thus making it worth the extra dollars. Service has always been welcoming and friendly.
Bonus that all takeaway comes in compostable containers!

Dragged to Winnipeg because of family. Finally convinced them to go to one of the few vegan restaurants in the area only to find out they closed at 3pm on Saturday. No explanation given and now I'm forced to go to a regular restaurant and eat the salads.

We were welcomed by the friendly staff. It was so hard to decide from all the vegan comfort food items. So we ordered several items and the chef cut the sandwiches into thirds so we could all taste. We ordered the juicy Lucy burger, un chickn wrap, and the Brie sandwich. Sides included tortilla chips with cheesy sauce and coleslaw. Also, strawberry shortcake shakes, made with their own homemade oat soft serve. We didn’t have any more tummy space so chef send us home with freshly baked pastries. Eating at Roughage Eatery lifted our spirits after a long flight from Los Ángeles to Winnipeg.

Very good simple menu. Would highly recommend. I had the No BSLT and it was fantastic! The coleslaw was also so tasty!

If you are vegan, this is the place to eat! (and if you're not, this place will show you how good vegan food can be!) All the dishes we tried were to die for. Not only is the food fantastic, the vibe of the place will keep you coming back. After eating here, we made plans to frequently visit Canada just so we can grab a bite to eat!

The soup, a vegan "Swiss Onion" and coffee were fairly bland. Prices are a bit high and the customer service was very good.

NoBS is right! Those are awesome sandwiches! A meal unto themselves washed down with a couple ruff shakes! Great eats thx ladies!

Can’t say enough great things about this place! Food is ALWAYS delicious, staff is super friendly, portion sizes are filling, just overall great quality food and great flavours! They also sell house made cheeze and bacun to take home and use in your own recipes and both are truly amazing! Roughage is my favourite vegan comfort food place in the city forsure!
Their take home holiday feasts are a must try as well! All made fresh, huge portions, and delicious!

Turkey pesto, chicken bowl, ice cream shakes? An amazing menu that just so happens to be completely vegan! That's right, vegan comfort food is at its peak right here at Roughage Eatery. Enjoy the daily cookie feature or purchase their local vegan cheeses; everything is made in house right from scratch. To top it off, Roughage Eatery is an LGBTQ+ safe space, openly promoting its queer inclusivity. Overall, an amazing place with amazing staff: always worth the visit

We had the New Years Eve Feast and every course was amazing! Hats off to the chef! Her vean cooking is an inspiration for someone new to vegan eating. We have also previously had lunch in the restaurant which we still can't stop talking about. Great place I totally recommend.

The Fraz Reuben sandwich was awesome.
Service was friendly.
Seating is somewhat limited. Book ahead for peak times.

Such a cute little place, the staff is so friendly and the food is amazing. Highly recommend. They also have gluten free options for those that need it.

Visiting from out of town, was recommended this restaurant from a friend, the food was AMAZING jalapeño poppers in particular. Candice was our server and we have never had a more friendly and attentive server in our entire lives! Thanks again will be back:)

Visiting for work from Montreal, as a plant based foodie, I had to visit this place given the reviews, and I couldn’t agree more. Cordial, warm & attentive staff + healthy/tasty food (and I have been to the best « celeb » spots in NYC/ LA many times) Vegans and non vegans visiting Winnipeg go grab a bite there you won’t be disappointed. Thank you for your warm welcome in Winnipeg, I was impressed. All the best in these difficult times.

Finally a nice place to eat out for vegetarians and vegans!
The food was delicious. I did not give 5 starts because of the interior, the moment you enter it smells like an old library and not the tidiest, dusty and no proper ventilation and air circulation. The washrooms also very old.
I wish the place looked nicer overall. The service is welcoming. Hopefully in the future for nice interior. Good luck

Friendly staff. Very much a meat eater but pleasantly surprised by the food. Ordered the cheese melt, jalapeno mac and cheese and the totchos. Totchos would definitely be a reason to go back.

As a non-vegan, this place is amazing! I haven’t had anything I haven’t loved. The cheezy garlic toast and tot-chos are must try’s!

Amazing Winnipeg vegan restaurant! The food is delicious and menu has a big variety of options. The owners are kind goodhearted people who want to do good in our neighbourhood! Highly recommend 10 out of 10.

There is not enough words to describe how amazing this place is! Food is delicious! The food took just 15 mins to make! The music is awesome. The servers are great! Trust me, eat here! It needs more recognition

Honestly the food is incredible it's really helped me realize that plant-based is where it's at.
I'm a huge fan and think that they do a great job of supporting their community and I will be eating here again and again!

The best part was the absolutely outstanding service, and the beautiful outside patio. The ingredients were clearly fresh and thoughtful, but it was quite expensive for what it was.

Literally one of the cutest and most wholesome places in the city. All the staff are extremely friendly, the atmosphere inside is adorable, and the food is so good it’s unfair. Please support this business!

First time going, my partner and I got the Apple Brie Sandwich, and the Philly Cheezesteak. Roughage Eatery makes incredible sandwiches. The flavours, textures and presentation are on point. Sandwiches are one of my favourite foods, and these folks have them on point.

I typically avoid vegetarian/vegen sandwiches, as they always seem to fall short. However, these sandwiches have me excited to go back again soon.

I'm not a vegan and was skeptical, but was very impressed with the food here. Very flavourful and fresh. I will be recommending it to all my "omni" friends. (I didn't know you called us that lol)

3rd time ordering from here. The food tastes like i'm eating at a fancy celeb restaurant but with large portion sizes. Buy the tarts! I dare you to find better tarts! Did I mention it's all vegan! Prices make sense with the amount of flavor to the meals! Thank you for choosing vegan!

The food here is unreal! So satisfying, great comfort food.they nail the fake meats, cheeses, etc.i for sure indulge far too often.i can only leave three stars however because it is incredibly slow, which even then i would be okay with it and plan accordingly - but it is never ready on time.it quotes about 30-45 mins for a single sandwich and i usually wait an additional 20 when i get there.i keep ordering because the food is worth it but i hope this is something they work on! All the love to this delicious local business during these times!

There's a lot of thought and care put into everything they do here, you can tell. Vegan comfort food at it's finest! Ordered delivery and the biodegradable containers are a thoughtful touch.

Phenomenal food, staff, service and atmosphere! Best vegan mac n cheeze in the city for sure. Homemade cheeze wedges are delicious too. Everything is made with love and care, and the owners truly care about their customers. Highly recommend to vegans and omnivores alike!

Awesome great place and great food. I have had roughage eatery food at a variety of events and I have to say hands down that there is food is delicious and affordable.

So nice to see another vegan restaurant in the Peg. The food was amazing. I had the ham and cheese sub with a side of soup, creamy broccoli. Both were delicious. I will be back!

Frickin' delish! Some of the best vegan eats I've had in a restaurant. Had the spicy cream pasta, nachos, and the arugula salad. Everything was done perfectly and with care. Bread was so good we headed to the bakery they get it from to scoop some more up for later. Our server was the perfect amount of down to earth and professional. Will be back!:)

I came here for lunch recently and had a fantastic time. I love this place because I have some very good vegan friends and I love watching them comb through the menu knowing they can eat anything their heart desires. It fills me with joy!

The lunch menu, when paired with the daily specials, offers a variety of selections capable of satisfying the mood of any appetite. I'm boring, so I just had the Roasted Beet and Arugula Mix but I was extremely pleased with the flavours & size of my dish. Fantastic!

I would be remiss in my review if I did not mention the "cheeze" on my salad. Creamy, flavourful and smooth, it surpasses any other vegan cheese replacement I have ever had in a store.
