Was on a long and bone chilling Winnipeg winter walk, must've been 700 metres at this point. Needed heating up as 6 layers of clothes was still no match for the winds from Portage and Main. My handy pocket maps device pointed out Sam's as the closest coffee shop to me.my goodness only another 200 metres. What a relief! I make my way there, I use the wrong entrance and the amazingly friendly security guard comes and greats me and gives me a quick run down how to get inside. I bid him farewell and ordered a Mocha and Cinnamon bun upon arrival.the cinnamon bun was giant and I cannot finish it all, the mocha to die for! The friendly barista behind the till is a pure delight. The long journey seems a distant memory now. 14/10. Would recommend.

The service is okay. The people could be a bit friendlier. However, the prices for what you get is outrageously bad, in my opinion.

They need to work on lowering some of their prices, to make it a more sustainable business in the exchange.

I liked everything, except that they make matcha sweet by default and don’t ask about it. You make coffee and tea without sugar, why make matcha sweet?

So spacious and the best place to feel welcome and complete assignments while sipping on their coffee. In love with the initiative that this business does for the youth in our city, and their selection of other local items is a big plus!

They are relocating to Bannatyne!
Super cute! You can probably find gem books in their collections.

A great place to look for used books. All the books are categorised and each category is in alphabetical order.
The coffee is great, and the cookies are fantastic! I always come here when I'm in town.

Was here to watch Elizabeth Semenchuk who is a Christian song writer and musician. Very relaxed atmosphere with good food. Will find time to come back.

If you live books, you will love this place. Very organized and a sitting area where you can have assorted drinks and dainties.

Cafe, books and entertainment, all while teaching young people barista, food prep and point of sale skills.
Hurrah for Sam's Place!

This is a nice little coffee shop/ bookstore run by MCC. Profits go to support MCC's mission based programming, as well the restaurant is used as an opportunity for youth apprenticeships.
There is a nice little sectioned off kids area with a toy box and kids books, so it is a surprisingly a kid-friendly place to get a latte.
All the books are used and reasonably priced. There is a good atmosphere there.
They also host art shows sometimes that support 'Art from the Heart'.
I reccomend this place if you are looking for a quiet cafe that has a community feel.

The book selection is always good, food is yummy at a fair price. I will say: prices could really afford to be lower with it being donated materials. Why store more books than you can shelve when you would probably make more money with lower prices? Pricing is also pretty inconsistent. Despite my little suggestions/complaints, its still five stars!

Just love it. People are friendly, and prices are reasonable. This is a place to perform music. Swearing is limited in this place.
