At Sene River Caffe, where the establishment boasts 21 years of operation, I received exceptional customer service. The staff's dedication to providing excellent service, coupled with the cafe's longstanding history, made for a delightful experience.

This place was found through TikTok. Can be a bit busy over the weekends but absolutely worth it. The food is tasty, staff are always on the ball and friendly.

It has been a while since I was there. Breakfast specials were a good price. I had the Mexican skillet. It was very expensive it was a bit dry and extra salsa was 99 cents extra. A bit too much for what you get will go back again, but will stick to the specials.

Went there for the first time. Food was awesome. The staff were amazing and friendly. Definitely can't wait to go back and try more from those menu

Pros: Friendly and fast service! We had juice and coffee within seconds of sitting and our waitress checked in multiple times.

Neutral: Super busy and loud

Cons: Dated interior, weak flavorless coffee, concentrate orange juice, kraft singles and wonder bread for the grilled cheese, poor value for cost.

Bottom Line: I probably wouldn’t return

I was there 2 days in a row. Went for lunch 1 day and had the chicken fingers with onion rings and it came on a slice of garlic bread and dip and coleslaw. Everything was excellent and even had enough for my supper.

Next morning I went for breakfast and had the Mexican Skillet. Delicious to the max. They have darn good coffee as well. Same thing as the day before, had enough left over for supper next day.

Well definitely be going back to try the other items. But just a warning. If you're going for lunch, it gets very busy at noon. So be there at least between 11 - 11.30 or after 1.

Staff were super friendly and service was quick. Small place that fills fast for breakfast and lunch rush. Food was really good and priced reasonably. Will definitely return.

Went in for breakfast on Sat.
Restaurant seemed full, but they managed to get a table for my group relatively fast.
Despite how busy it was, the service was excellent and the food was great as well.
(Ordered the breakfast special they were advertising at the entrance)

Home syle Café with exceptional food. Today was our 1st visit for lunch even though it has been a favorite breakfast hunt. Always full of mostly locals, the friendly niegbourhood atmosphere is very warm and inviting.

The single star I am giving only because of their food. My experience was really bad because of their servers. I had ordered food to take out because there was waiting for dine in. After 45 mins I called a server to know the status of my order. She said someone else is taking care of my order and then I asked her whether she can from the other server and to my surprise her reply was that she is so busy. The server was not even ready to listen. In the end I didn't even get my drinks because server mentioned that it will take more time because some customers ordered fancy drinks.

I was quiet excited about this place but unfortunately the service was awful and the staff was very rude. The take out took over 45 minutes and on asking for update on food twice, the staff was too “busy” to provide any updates whatsoever. The server that took the order said she is not in charge of my take out it’s “that lady”! Drinks that were ordered with food were not ready at the end with the food because dine in customers ordered “fancy drinks” and it was going to take priority over my take out. When I finally got the food …no cutlery or napkins were included! I would NOT recommend take out.

Good service. Friendly staff. Very busy place for breakfast on weekends, there may be a wait. Option of shredded potatoes or pan-fried…really like that. Eggs Benedict was okay, eggs were over cooked and wasn’t a fan of the texture of their Hollandaise sauce. Would definitely go back but try something else.

Awesome busy, small restaurant with great food and great service. Staff say it is crazy busy in winter months and less busy in summer but we thought a place with a line up on a summer day was busy!

Pleasantly surprising find! I love the menu, and all the dishes I've tried have a good 'home-cooked' feel. They seem to love what they do!

Usually love it here but I was picking up an order and cashiers kept walking away and ignoring me, didn’t acknowledge my presence. One middle aged cashier took other ppl before me even though I was waiting for a few minutes already. Once the cashier was done with the people who came after me she walked away and didn’t say anything. 3 other servers/cashiers were standing on the side.

The food was excellent, and cheap. I would absolutely come back here. The service was a little slow, considering it wasn't that busy. However, that can definitely be forgiven, because the staff were friendly, and my waitress was happy to help with my questions about the menu. Try the Belgian waffle, it's AMAZING.

Ordered late this morning for brunch as I have a few times in the past and is usually amazing. Got my order from skip and the meat lovers breakfast was missing sausages, bacon and the toast. Literally got hashbrowns, eggs and 2 pieces or rubbery ham that seems like it sat under the heat lamp for hours. Called the restaurant and they said to call skip for a refund (which I know is normal practice). They refunded me a small portion (6 dollars of a 17 dollar breakfast after tax). Extremely disappointing. What is with the cooks there? Shocked they have a job. If you cannot fulfil an order properly, then don’t offer it on your menu.

This restaurant is a gem tucked away in a St. Boniface location parking lot that you would miss after many times driving by! It is a very cozy, family run Cafe. We went for breakfast today and the food and service was unbeatable! There aren't too many places like this left. They have a large menu catering to everyone's tastes. I had a veggie skillet that was to die for! Highly recommend this place! You won't be disappointed!

I have been several times to the Seine River Café - a place introduced to me by a late friend who wisely promised "You are going to love it! " - and I can heartily recommend it. Not only is the food incredible - varied menu, high quality ingredients, delectable well prepared meals - but all the staff I have met have been outstanding.

My only 'criticism' would be that the coziness during quieter times becomes (over-) crowdedness at peak hours. That said, most patrons seem to be quite friendly, too. It is a truly lovely place to go to enjoy good food in a homey atmosphere.

Google compared it to Perkins, I suppose based in part on atmosphere and in part on the menu. The quality (if not perfection) of Seine River Café is what Perkins seeks to emulate. With reasonable prices, comparable to the aforementioned franchise, do yourself and your party a favour and experience dining as it should be. And no, I am not paid for this praise nor related to any staff, management or owners. Seine River Café is simply one of the best restaurants in which one could hope to dine. Kudos to them!

We go here at least two or three times a month, very good food with reasonable prices. Lots of weekday specials so you can always find something you'll like. We normally go for breakfast, but the lunch and dinner menu is very good. Staff is always friendly and the premises are clean. Highly recommended.

First time there. Excellent food. Sign of a good breakfast spot is sunny side up eggs and they did a great job. Good service. A bit of a wait but not long. The only issue is it's a small space generally and kind of cramped. Would go again for sure.

Came here after finishing the graveyard shift and had time to spare before my dentist appt. Had the skillet and it was terrific, best I’ve ever had. Portions were generous. Friendly staff too. This is my new breakfast spot

Amazing breakfast. Eggs were perfect, bacon was crispy, taters were deep fried and sooo good! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Fabulous waitress always enjoy it there.

Went for breakfast / lunch, I had breakfast, buddy had lunch. It was very good food, service was great, Just enough interaction to let you know you're there, but not invasive. My friend enjoyed his sandwich, and he's particular about his food. I had the Mexican skillet and it was excellent! Definitely will be going back!

Got takeout breakfast here. Finally a true breakfast burrito- I got the skillet in a wrap. Would come back 1000X

I was looking for a restaurant in Winnipeg that served a nice garden salad. My elderly father who resides at a Winnipeg nursing home had a hankering for some good old fashioned salad, and I noticed Seine River Cafe came up on my search. Took the chance and bingo! My dad was over the moon lol. He said he hasn’t had a salad as good as that in years - fresh and tasty. If a restaurant can get the basic salad to sing, you can be sure their other offerings will be just as great. Thank you for making my dad’s dinner a great one!

My favourite place for weekend brunch! The breakfast poutine is amazing. I tried the pancakes for the first time today and they did not disappoint! The food is always fresh and arrives nice and hot, you can tell everything is made and prepared with care

Honestly, this is the worst breakfast I can remember ever having. I ordered the eggs Benedict. It was absolutely smothered in Hollandaise sauce, that was pale, gloopy and tasteless. The sauce had started separating so there were little pool of oil forming on it. I was so hungry I poured some salt on and tried to get through it. I could only finish half before the sauce had congealed into a messy blob most closely resembling snot.

Great chicken sandwich. Breakfast all day. Lovely staff. What more can I say? An institution for many years. Great small town feel.:) thanks for a wonderful lunch.

Had veal cutlet hard as a board and could not chew although I never got charged for it. The waitress was apologetic and nice. Will not return.

We have been coming here for 20 years, such a lovely little restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Came here because it was close to work and I really don't recommend one bit. The poutine had one block of cheese on the bottom, fries and then pounds of gravy which tasted really old. Coleslaw was dry, not a drop of any liquid so it was basically just vegetables and then the chicken fingers were bland and the batter immediately fell off leaving wet fingers.plus they told me a wait time of 15 minutes and waited for around 30. Waitress literally just threw the bag on the table and walked off.was not worth 18$.

Oh my god! I can't say enough good stuff about the food and staff. The food is outstanding, especially their Keuben sandwich and poutine and the staff are so friendly. It's a favourite location to frequent!

Always have a good experience coming here. Food is good, service is good - if you get a coffee they'll always fill it before you run out. Prices are okay, the daily deal is usually a pretty good bargain.

Feels like a small, humble restaurant. Bring a date there and have a small meal - get a dessert at the Dairy Queen next door. Maybe get some friends and get food before you run the escape room just around the corner.

Give it a 4 because the place was a little dirty, but was the best chicken alfredo that I've ever had. Comparing from pretty high quality places, Seine River Cafe had super delicious food. Wish more places had home cooked meals.

Little hidden gem in Winnipeg, this small mom and pop place never seems to disappoint! I've only gone less than a handful of times but everything I've had is amazing.their portions are huge so make sure you come hungry

Utterly delicious, easy to make substitutions and work around dietary restrictions. Pan fries are legendary. My favourite diner, especially for breakfast.

A classic breakfast/lunch joint that never fails to get the job done. Great staff and good food, the game winning combo of any staple restaurant. You won't find much in the way of game changing food, but that's okay because sometimes you want a classic go-to that's done to perfection and this place delivers every time.
