The beef vindaloo was good, but the dhaba baingan wasn't worth it- only three pieces of eggplants & it mostly consisted of the gravy. Not recommended.

Great place, the lady in the front complemented us with some sweets for free. Everything was delicious.

Small restaurant, friendly service, casual atmosphere. They have several thali platters to pick from and a good menu selection. They have mathai (sweets) too.

Coming from the UK I was used to having a lot of authentic Indian restaurants nearby some good others not so good, sizzling for me has captured the essence of real cooking with a slightly westernized touch, its one of my top two places to eat in, do take out or have delivered

This is, by far, my favourite Indian food restaurant in the city! Their Dhana Baingan (with delicious eggplant) and their Biryani are to die for!

Went to this restaurant for the first time today for lunch. Brought home three specials to feed four people. The food was simply fantastic excellent portions I will definitely go back to this restaurant again. I highly recommend! Len in St.b

It is my first time ordering food from Sizzling Dhaba. I have to say I am impressed by the taste of their food. I ordered Gobhi Parantha, Choley Bhature and Daal Makhani and I had requested it to be mild and It was actually mild! For the first time ever at an Indian restaurant I got my food Mild & Delicious!
Portions were good and the taste was Amazing! Definitely will be ordering again from here in future! Outstanding!

I'd give Sizzling Dhaba 5 stars just for their beef vindaloo alone but the rest of their food is only so so, 3 to 3.5 stars.

Food was very good. Butter chicken, korma, tandoori chicken.
Samosas were 1.00 each good price, Really value of meal for 4 for less than $40.

The food here is homemade, unique, savoury, sometimes spicy, and is incredibly satisfying. Eating here reminds me of being young again, coming home and my mom cooks something savoury then tells me to eat, relax and stop stressing about work.

Great place with very good service. Tried their Biryani which was really good. It’s as good as clayoven in fact even better. Portion was too much even for two people. Definitely a must try.

One of the best local venues for this style of food. Amazing prices, my wife and I were able to get enough food for a large dinner and enough for lunch the next day for both of us for $35. I asked for the chicken vindalloo to be "very spicy VERY SPICY" and they actually listened and made it proper spicy. The kind of spicy you must eat it in small bites. Very very good we will be return customers for many years. TOP!

Ordered from Skip the dishes. The portion size is pathetic. They charge for the rice as well. The naan was perfectly shaped and was like it was just heated up from frozen. The Aloo Gobi had a sourish taste to it as if it was prepared a few days ago and reheated, worst I've had in the city. They forgot the samosas. The channa masala wasn't bad but also the worst I've had in the city. The vegetable vindaloo barely had veggies in it. Some potatos, half cooked carrots and cabbage. The soy pakora was actually tasty and is the reason for the 2nd star. But honestly they only gave a 1oz container of tamarind. Not enough. The food quality and flavors just isn't there. We tried it to try a new Indian place as we love Indian food, but I cannot recommend this place at all. Go anywhere else for much better quality, flavor and quantity. Shahi Flames, East India Company, Cilantros, Charisma or even Ivory or Clay Oven all provide superior food, quality and value. So disappointed.

I bought some sweets and samosas, none of those were up to my expectation, the sweets were having a kind of bad smell of oil that i couldn't stand. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

A year ago, we had a small event and we ordered Samosa’s from this restaurant.
They tasted really great then.
I visited this place in person to make an order and the prices have jumped up but the samosas I ordered were okay.
The customer service was fair. The lady who was serving seemed quite curt but she was not rude.
To be honest, as opposed to last year when I tried their service and kept recommending them to everyone, things have changed. After my first hand experience- it is not one of those restaurants I’ll be going around recommending.

The experience at the restaurant was ok. Its not the best Indian restaurant in Winnipeg. The restaurant is normally always busy with orders. May be a bit understaffed.
The samosas are good here though:)

Great place, great food. This restaurant is a hidden gem, the staff and owners are so welcoming and friendly, their food is to die for, and when you can dine is the buffet lunch is worth your time. This local restaurant becomes anyone's new favourite after trying it, definitely recommend

I am not normally a big fan of Indian food, but my wife wanted to try this place. I sure am glad we did. WOW! We will absolutely be ordering from here again. It was our first time trying Sizzling Dhaba, we had the Butter chiken (w/o nuts), meat curry (chicken), tandoori chicken (legs) and vegitable samosas. It was excellent! My mouth wants more but my stomac is full. Thank you to all the staff for an excellent meal! I believe thits place is locally owned, we are trying to support local businesses during the pandemic.

Place is pretty good, we would have given a more stars if they had better selection and made improvements with some of their dishes. The place needs to be cleaned better too. There were lots of bugs in the summer time.

Food is acceptable, yet the administration isn't. I called a few times yet no answer. So I strolled in and requested and I was to hang tight for 40 mins thoroughly fine, however the young lady at the clerk is inconsiderate to clients. So normal 3 stars for food not for administration.

Absolutely horrendous customer service from the get go. Read the reviews before you go there, because chances are you are going to regret it. The middle-aged lady Sunita Nagpal; who apparently is one of the owner (!) of the restaurant is the MOST rudest person I have met in my life. While me and my friend were waiting a good 20 minutes for only four samosas, we thought we should just get this other item to eat since I was too hungry and the wait seemed to be long for me to bear it; keep in mind that long wait time is not uncommon there; I have been there in the past as well and even then we had to wait about 20-30 minutes to get just a couple of samosas. Anyways; so I asked for the lady a couple of times since she was gone in the back (which she does routinely as well; and for long periods of time at that) but no response (again, not uncommon) ; then after sometime my friend called her again and there she came. I asked her if the price of the item is 2 bucks for 5 items which is what me and my friend felt she said at the beginning; but apparently it was 2 items for 5 bucks; a simple misunderstanding right? No, because she paused for a couple of seconds after replying and then said "YOU EXPECT THOSE TO BE 2 FOR 5 WHEN OUR SAMOSAS ARE $1.50 EACH? " I was baffled for a second and thought I heard it wrong, but I wasn't. What then ensued should just be left unsaid, for what I have written should be enough for everyone to know what being a customer at Sizzling Dhaba is like, and that you go there at your self-esteem's peril. Oh and by the way; I had upset stomach after I ate those "$1.50 samosas".

We come from out of town to eat here. Have never had a bad experience. Yes - they do seem abrupt at times, but you can find that anywhere. Not a deal breaker. New readers - please support local and give this place the chance they deserve!

The owner is amazing, always wants to serve quality fresh food. It does take some time to wait for the food I preordered as its a small place so its understandable.

Not the widest spread, but the most welcoming environment. Along with the amazing food, the staff there are beyond welcoming. Would recommend.

We ordered takeout and the food was amazing. Very well prepared and flavorful. The spicy, crunchy, soft, smooth, and creamy combination of flavors was amazing.

Very rude and abusive. They don’t know how to attend the customer. Use abusive language with customer and humiliate them without any reason.

First time Food quality was really Bad.
Today i found hair in my bread. When i called them, Lady said, ” I am lying”.

Why would i lie? She was so rude to me.

What a shame for the owner, I went to place an order today for takeout. While we were waiting for someone to take our order. Lady on the front started shouting on us, because her husband handed over the menu to us.

Well it was my birthday today, thanks for ruining it. The way she was speaking to me literally I felt she is illiterate.

Request to all my Indian fam, avoid this restaurant. They don’t deserve to be in food industry. Please learn how to behave with your customers.

Ate here 3 time’s first time lady was very friendly and great, second time she made me pay first? Like who makes someone pay first when they come into a restaurant. Third time I ate there was I ate the buffet and I ordered 2 chicken somosas, and while I was eating my food, she came out with a takeout bag and gave it to me and greeting me saying have a great day and that I can put my dishes over to the side, I haven’t finished eating but felt disrespected and left, I do not recommend this place to anybody, will not be coming back here again

Love this place. The buffet is exceptional usually 4 meats and various other sides. We have order off the menu and we like the spinach and veg corma. The spices are deep and complex with richness and warmth while not being overly hot. I have tried a few of the desserts, also very good. They do a brisk take out business. Finding a sit down table could be challenging for the lunch buffet. Service was good.

Crooks! They charge $4.75 for rice!
