Smitty's Family Restaurant and Lounge

I regret to report a concerning experience following my recent employment with Smitty Meadowwood. After being hired three days ago, I was unexpectedly terminated without clear justification. At the time of recruitment, there was no indication that my employment was intended as a trial period. This lack of prior disclosure led to a substantial investment of time and effort on my part.

I would advise potential applicants to exercise caution when considering opportunities at this establishment due to discrepancies in communication and unexpected changes in employment status. Transparency and clarity in the hiring process are essential for both candidates and employers to foster a fair and respectful work environment.

On Friday a couple of my friends and I dined in at this Smitty’s and had the joy of having Cole as our server! He was very friendly, outgoing and so well versed in providing above and beyond customer service! 10/10. I would go back again solely to have Cole as my server again!

He even chatted with us for a bit before we left which was greatly appreciated and checked on us regularly throughout our meal. If we needed anything; Cole was there. Even told us about a very neat gift card promotion they have going on! Great service, great employee and amazing experience!

Came here on wing night. My hostess Chloe was amazing and a very talented young lady. She remembered our group of 10 drinks and came back in no time. Will def come back soon if Chloe is working!

Stopped in for lunch. Service is good and friendly. Portions are not great. Lunch with no alcohol for two people was over 40 bucks.

Waitress told us the drink specials, Corona for $5.00 so I ordered a Corona.when we get the bill the Corona were on $9.00.but I guess when you have the best wings in town you can get away with things

Allie was great! There were 8 of us and she was on point with food orders and drink refills. Truly great service. 5 stars well deserved

Went to smittys for thursday night wings and had Ally as our waitress, she was awesome! Always smiley and happy and made sure our experience was awesome!

Nothing like the smell of tar while you are eating breakfast.

As soon as the food came so did the tar fumes through the vent above our table. We had to endure the overwhelming smell of tar throughout our entire breakfast. A decent restaurant with real management would close when the roof is being tarred.
At Smitty’s you are expected to just plug your nose while eating. I left with a headache from the fumes, they should be closed or at least warn you what you will have to endure before you order. Manager didn’t think it was that bad, that should tell you something about the quality of the people and service there.

After reading previous reviews and hearing the accolades of quick service I’m wondering if I was at the same restaurant, twice now I’ve taken big groups to the same Smittys and both times I’ve been less then satisfied.
I don’t believe smittys is capable of efficiently serving a group of more then 8, we were a group of 22 earlier and recently 14, both times the wait times were really really long, over a hour between ordering and serving, by the time the last person got their order the first ones were long finished and ready to leave.
First group we figured eh we’re a big group so what if thy miss something here or there, the restaurant was quite busy so we just rolled with it.
Second group was (not) good at all, were 14 of us and maybe 10 to 15 other customers, again well over a hour or so before we all got our orders and one was completely missed, we had one server between us who did everything from drinks to meals…. Which was fine until we realized she was also serving other tables (and) running the bar at the same time, they were really understaffed.
Food was pretty good but portion size seemed a bit small and fries where really sparse, some plates weren’t hot, like they’d been sitting and waiting someplace,
Our server was friendly and cheerful but definitely too busy doing other things.
I’m a big tipper and gladly do so but that last outing was a tough call, I have to earn my money too.

Great $3 Bud and Bud light happy hour 3-6pm. CC machines crashed. Gave us discount for having to use atm. Great move. Much appreciated.

Nice place to sit, best for team lunch, variety of foods, wish they have grilled fish too instead of just fried fish, customer service has room for improvement.overall very good

It was totally cozy and welcoming. The food was tasty the waitress friendly and efficient. The restaurant was busy and almost full. Nice
Atmosphere and warm. A lot better than my last visit which put me off from returning for quite some time. Will go back again for sure.

Horrible service. Dropped by last week around 11pm, the restaurant was closed so I opted for the bar/lounge. Me and my fiancé sat at a table for 10-15m without ever being greeted or served. We eventually got up and left. First time for everything, I never experienced this in my life at any establishment.

Our go-to lunch place when we are in Winnipeg. Always good food and good service. We were there last on Oct 24/2022 and again were served well.

Smitty's is a classic, great wing nights and awesome all day breakfast! I'm not huge on their dinner items tho.

The skillets are so good i had the meat lovers i wife had the Ukrainian skillete so good

Nice Smittys restaurant. Staff were friendly and prompt. Food was hot and tasty, yet served quickly (not that many other patrons in the restaurant though). Restaurant was clean and conveniently located.

Went to this Smittys this past weekend. Had a group of 7 and 2 babies. Really accommodating for our children. Service was fast, never had to ask for a refill. Would recommend to anyone with kids as the menu exceeded our expectations.

Would definitely recommend the wings and the drinks!

I am little late to send this message but I want to tell you, Smitty’s team is really doing a good job. I went there on Saturday for Breakfast and Meatlover skillet was fantastic. Manager was so nice and was checking every guest on table for coffee and food. I think her name was Reman. Thanks for wonderful experience.

I went for Caesar week and was impressed with what they came up with. Service was good, could've been quicker. To be fair it was very busy.

I have been to this Smittys quite a bit over the years, and always extra lucky if I get Tracy as my server
She is kind, quick, professional and always on point - a great waitress and definite asset to the restaurant.
Food is usually good - disappointing that they have reduced their skillets to 2 eggs. Not worth the money now.

Wasn't satisfied with Ceasars or chicken Ceasar salad but you guys did put in effort to make me happy so I appreciate the effort so 4 stars I think is good

My friend and myself, we are two senior ladies. We were in uour restaurant a few months ago. The restrictions of same household only were in effect already.
We walked the girl greeted us very kindly, onlybtook down one phone number snd never asked about the one household rule. She seated us st the same table, no questions asked. She sdid today ladies stay and talk along as you want ill keep bringing the coffee. She was true yo her word.
You sed were there in the first place because my friend had a biopsy thst turned out like we thought not hood news. I will loose her shortly. So a huge thank you to that waitress. Consider this when engorvingcthstcrule. You don't knoe why people are there.

Very nice breakfast served hot. Don't like the sausages, seems they have changed the supplier. Service was great and friendly, will go back.

First time in many months we dined inside because of COVID. Breakfast was great, service was top notch! Will be back soon.

Ordered for supper last night. Roast beef dip was great! Didn't realize how much I missed their wings till I had some electric honey ones last night. Parents said their bacon cheeseburgers hit the spot as well. Have always had a great experience when ordering from this location! Keep up the great work!

I ordered take out through skip the dishes for my son and myself, and our food was all awesome. Well packaged, well made, tasted great, and they even wrote a cute thank you on the bag. I love when businesses add personal touches like that. Will be ordering again.:)

For wing night, they can't be beat.

Updating my review: ordered wings for pick since restaurants can only do take out/delivery currently and the process was great! Very easy to place the order online. When I went to pick up the order it was hot and ready for exactly the time I ordered for! Got home and the wings were still hot! And as always they tasted great!

Service was horrible. It took 15 mins to have our order taken. Then we waited and waited for refills on drinks. Finally our server was delaying with our bill. Seemed more interested in the bigger tables than my party of 3. Will not be back. Food was ok

Good food at a reasonable price. There wings are awesome. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are. 59 wing nights from 3-close.

Come here quite often. Only one server most of the time so sometimes pretty bad service. Wings are pretty good, decent deals, Good flavours to choose from. Come for breakfast mostly. It's ok. A little overpriced

Had to sit ourselves, grab our own menus and actually get up to go find a waitress.
Food was decent. Nothing outstanding.
Wings were dry, like overcooked dry.

Always enjoy but unfortunately washrooms weren't up to par for me. But staff usually kind and food good. Clean bathrooms essential

Good stop for wings on a Tuesday night. Lots of TVs in the bar area if a game is on so that's a bonus. Service was friendly but only briefly! We got our drink and wings order in but after that, our server went on the 'missing in action' list. Had to really work to find someone to put in our follow up order. The wings were just 'okay'. The spicy ones are not that spicy and not the biggest ones around. The Mango Habanero ones were a complete miss. Dry and not a lot of flavour.

It was a quiet night at this restaurant. We were needing to have a business meeting for our organization. They have an area beyond the glass partition. No music or TV playing. We had something to eat after our discussion. Very nice service.

We found some money in our sort of new-to-us home and thought it would be the perfect night for wing night!

We went for wings, had an awesome time and it was very reasonably priced. Service was slow but our waitress made up for it. She was great.

Pro tip: get fries with the roasted pepper (I think?) seasoning. Life changing.
