So disappointing! For the price you pay you'd expect a bigger burger than just a small dempsters bun and fresh cut fries not frozen that had way too much seasoning salt. Was not busy and it took too long for food and it wasn't even that hot or good taste. Expensive for the portions and quality!

Great burgers and fries. I love my fries crispy, and that's how they make them. The burgers have lots of flavor. We will be coming back here again.

I come here all the time and the food is delicious! Fast service, and great staff everyone has always been so friendly! Best burger and ice cream place all in one!

Waited half an hour for food and it wasn't busy. Burgers were small and bland. Burger bowl was a joke. Will not be going back.

My family went to the snak shak for dinner this week. We ordered the spicy chicken burger, chicken fingers, kids dog and two orders of onion rings. Our order came to around $30 which doesn't sound like much on paper but the proportion sizes were so small (particularly the chicken fingers and onion rings) and we were very unimpressed with the quality of the food. For example, the "spicy" chicken burger would have been no different than me purchasing frozen chicken burger patties, wonder bread buns, and a head of lettuce from the grocery store and slapping them together at home. Although I could see some red sauce indicating my burger was supposed to be spicy, I would not have know from flavour alone (and even asked my husband if he had ordered the right one). We will not be ordering food from here again. To be fair, we got ice cream after and it was delicious (though I can't imagine anyone could screw up ice cream).

Incredibly disappointing experience. Ordered a small taco soup for $5.75, when I got it home the cup was not even 1/4 full, and it amounted to about 1 spoonful. I called to ask what happened, and was told I ordered a small, but they put it in a large cup. Complete rip off on the portion, especially if a small for $5.75 truly isn’t even a quarter of a large. Demonstrated a care for profit over a customer and quality, and makes it difficult to support local when I could have gotten better at a chain restaurant for a lower cost. Definitely would not recommend and will not be back.

Just went their for a chili cheese dog got a chili dog with a slice of cold processed cheese on it still cold what a joke 7.95 plus I added cheese for the chili dog and that's what you get never again ask the employee and they said we took it from the fridge and put it on. I use to like going here I guess this ends that.

20 minutes for fries that were cold when we got them despite that being our only order. Employees could be seen eating them before serving them to us.
Salty coating should be left off so customer can do it if they want, gravy was half decent.

Awesome food.great service.decent prices. Nice stop on the way out of Selkirk. An icon that has been there for a long time. Stop in and have a bite. This one is worth the trip.

Had it for the first time and it will be my last. Service was not great. My husband and I each had the big boy burger. It should be called the tiny burger. When my husband unwrapped his burger, he was convinced he had the wrong burger as it was so small. It honestly tasted comparable to a McDonald's cheeseburger with more onions and pickles. Fries were okay. Milkshake was warm, and tasted like sweetened milk as it was melted by the time we got it. *don't waste your money* Our 2 mediocre burgers, lg fry to share and a lg milkshake to share was $30.

This place has had good food then not. Just tried it out again this week and it’s back to good food once again! It’s still on the slow side for the time you order to when you get your food but the burger was delicious. It seem to have some seasoning added to it. I’m not normally ok with flavour to my meat (A&W) but it was subtle taste. The fries also good. I like the added seasoning that is on the fries.

Just drove here from the country for a treat to cheer my sister up. Asked for a banana split, lady was annoyed seemed inconvenienced by having to make a banana split. Asked if they had peanut butter to put in it and she rudely said No that just for our dipped cones. She seemed pretty gruff and unwelcoming so we friggen left n will go to the kiln in stonewall for a god damned banana split.

Ordered a cheeseburger, got it. Had a tiny twoonie size tomato, 3 shriveled up pickles and was soaked in mustard. Called Shawna!? She said that's how they make them. I should try it. Took one bite and of course taste like mustard. May as well rename the menu mustard tiger burgers, or least she is one lol

Did get a refund but seriously pathetic for telling them I'd never been and needed time to go over the menu. And then to say whatever on the amount of mustard and the way I was served.

Wait times where long for a couple burgers and some ice cream. Would have been nice if they had more than one person working, I felt bad for the one girl that was there but over 25 minutes of waiting for 2 burgers was a bit much. Food was good though, love the ice cream.

Chicken fingers have gluten friendly breading and they also offer to make the chicken fingers completely gluten free by cooking them in their own oil! (Will take a bit longer but awesome option!) always yummy and super friendly!

Their soft serve ice cream is mediocre and service is painfully slow. I would not dream of waiting in line there if there were more than 3 people already waiting.

Soft serve ice cream is good. Good menu selection and decent prices. Food is overall good. Service is always above par

Cheeseburger was so so. Patty seemed small. Fries were not super hot. Seemed a little pricey for what you got. Nice picnic tables outside. Saw the staff cleaning them after people were done eating on them.

Love the renovation, love the food and ice cream, love the nostalgia of coming here after a good beach day! Never disappoints.:)

Best place in town omg the food is amazing and always fresh. The new building is fantastic and staff is very friendly.

The best ice cream store in Selkirk. Shakes, Sundaes and burgers and fries. Very quick service and friendly staff.

Fresh and friendly! Food is prepared based on order (no heat lamps or soggy fries here) so be prepared for a slightly longer wait time for your meal. Lots of parking, and plenty of picnic tables for outdoor seating. Try the "Next Day Burger", a personal favourite! Finish off the meal with an ice cream treat.huge selection of flavours!

Love the chicken burgers and poutine! Always a bit of a wait around lunch but u know its because they are so tasty!

Stopped for ice cream on our way home from the beach. There is a nice grassy area outside with picnic tables. Service was ok, prices were ok and ice cream was ok. Not bad, just nothing to make it extraordinary.

Lots of choices for icecream.and hamburgers, although I only had icecream today. Nice place to stop by and enjoy a summer treat.

Cheeseburger, fries, and onion rings were excellent and hot. No complaints, will definitely eat there again.

The prices are high, for the quantity you receive.
We only had soft icecream.
The food was great quality, but disappointed in size for value.

Over priced: first time here, had the cheese Burger and small fries drink combo. Really Small portions and uses cheapest possible ingredients, won’t go back!

Not very good service. Waited for my ice cream for 10 minutes. Last time I checked didn’t take 10 minutes for ice cream. Waited another 5 minutes then got my order and they forgot my ice cream. Frustrating experience as I also waited another 5 minutes to order because no one was at the front counter.

Visit periodically throughout the summer; food is great! New place is even better.
However, agree there s/b a public washroom available (be it inside or outside) ; something to consider 4 summer 2019.

RUDEST STAFF EVER! Nowhere was it posted that the washroom is not public. Having driven from Winnipeg specifically to check them out this summer after there expansion/upgrade my 5 year old had to pee badly and my 6month old had pooped moments before pulling into the parking lot. We all head inside and see a little kid emerge from a door and beyknd this door see the bathroom door. Attempting to go through first door we find it locked. I go up to the counter and kept saying excuse me, louder each time. My daughter is smelling quite ripe by now. I raise my voice and again say excuse me to a lady behind the counter. She says rudely to me 'there's the line' and walks away! My older daughter, 9 years old asks if we should get in the line to which I say it doesn't make sense since I don't want to be bringing our food in the bathroom so it makes sense to go there first. Once again, saying excuse me repeatedly. Finally, a younger looking girl looks up and rudely asks 'what? ! ' I ask her for the washroom key and she tells me rather curtly 'we don't have a public washroom'. I look at the little girl standing in line who we had seen earlier emerging from the washroom and say 'she came out of there so. ' she cuts me off and says 'it's a STAFF washroom'. I stand there momentarily unsure what to say and I notice her scrunching her nose (remember my poopy baby) and she looks past me at the line and sees a few ppl covering their nose and says 'make sure you SHUT the door when you are done' and goes around to let us in. When we came out there were dirty looks at us all around. NOWHERE was it posted that it was a staff washroom.
I have NO ISSUES with staff only washrooms. I do however have issues with double standards. AND rude staff in a service establishment. I didn't walk into a private law firm or something and demand to use their restroom. I wouldn't have even thought they had a restroom we could possibly use if I had not seen that little girl come from there and return to wait in line with her family. It was a simple misunderstanding. It would've been more prudent and polite to address me quickly, explain quickly and then I could've not wasted anyone's time (mine included) waiting to use a washroom I wasn't allowed to. And they need to have the same rules across the board. Will NEVER waste time and gas driving there again.
