Sorrento's Bar & Pizzeria

We go here semi-frequently but the quality went downhill over time, unfortunately. Last time we went, the table we were seated at was dirty (full of crumbs), the floor is also quite crumby. I ordered a pizza sub which was small and very burnt. I had soup on the side which came with a weird skin formed on the top, which was unappetizing. The service was decent and quick though.

Tried calling 4 times and no one answered the phone, so we decided to take a chance ordering online for delivery (that's probably how they get you to pay the $4 service fee). The order came quickly and the food was good (but not amazing). HOWEVER, the food was delivered without a bag, the two boxes containing food had no sticker across to prevent it being opened and the breadsticks weren't fully wrapped in tinfoil, leaving about 4 x 4 inch space exposed. And of course the exposed area is what the driver was touching when he passed it to me. I thought that was very substandard packaging and a possible health risk. Very offputting and probably won't be returning for a while after that experience. Definitely expected better of a childhood favourite

I absolutely love their cheese salad! The portion is very generous and the bread sticks are definite must.

I can't see myself ever coming back here. My chicken strips were WAY overcooked, my onion rings were dripping in grease. The service was slow. My friend ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and got a total of ONE meatballs with his dish. The pasta was overdone, the best sauce was ok at best but tasted like it came from a jar. About the one good dish was the Sorrento's salad, which was basically lettuce, a couple chunks of tomato, a little bit of chicken deli ham and a few shreds of mozzarella.

For the price we paid, i would have expected MUCH better quality food than what was delivered. Maybe it's the pizza this place is known for, because everything else was pretty much trash.

How does this location stay in business when a regular sorrentos salad is almost $24. Geez better take out a loan before going here. On a positive note the food is good. Overpriced but good.

Waitress was nice but not very attentive. We sat in the lounge, and it was lunch not very busy.

Utterly disappointing experience. We’ve been to Sorrentos on McPhillips numerous times and it’s always been great. We had family business in that end of the city so went to Grant location this time. Everything but the service (and the soup) were completely disappointing. The Italian Salad was served with generic bottled Italian dressing instead of the house-made dressing we were used to at the other location. Breadsticks were dry and tasted like they had been kept in a warmer rather than being fresh out of the oven. Fettuccine was overcooked and Alfredo sauce was bland and tasteless. Pricing is out to lunch also - our bill was $175 for two salads, two pastas and one small pizza - WITH a 10% off coupon? Minestrone soup was excellent, as was our server. We’ll stick to the north location from now on.

Picked up large Lasagna and Sorento salad. Bread sticks and salad good. Lasagna very meaty but not much cheese, dry and lacked flavour. Only spice was a little heat from red chili peppers.

The food here has always been very good. Recently though, they have obviously changed their pizza dough. The new dough is terrible. It tastes like cardboard. It will be the last pizza we will order from here. Too bad, their old dough was fantastic.

Whether you order through a 3rd party app or Sorrento’s directly, expect an incredibly long wait time. We thought we’d try again (after a terrible experience a few months ago) however after ordering a large salad and breadsticks and waiting nearly 1.5 hours, we realize we should have stayed far away. I called Sorrento’s directly to see what the hold was as our Uber Eats driver had been waiting for 30 minutes at the restaurant already (45 mins after order was placed) when the employee on the phone rudely started arguing with me about how long the driver had been there as if I couldn’t see it on the app! That driver eventually left (understandably, they can’t waste any more of their time!) and the second driver assigned had to wait an additional 15 minutes. I don’t know whether I’m more annoyed about the wait, or the guy on the phone trying to “gaslight” me into thinking the Uber Eats driver was lying lol. Either way, not a good experience and definitely won’t be back.

Their food is delicious! Always craving their tasty Alfredo and Pasta dishes. Minestrone is on par. Forget Olive Garden, go here instead!

My family and i have been eating here my whole life. The Sorrento Salad and Chili Fettucine are some family favorite meals.

One of our go to places for lunch. We especially like their soups and salad specials. The minestrone, French onion, cream of chicken, cream of mushroom and cream of cauliflower are our favourites. The lunch salads are large and filling. The breadsticks are great especially when fresh out of the oven. My wife also loves their pepperoni pizza.
The staff are friendly, attentive and quite cheerful. The restaurant is always clean and neat.
All in all a terrific place for lunch.

Came here as McPhillips is only open for lunch on Fridays. The food was pretty much the same.only noticeable difference was at the McPhillips location, they have a spicy Italian salad dressing with is better than the Italian dressing at this location. Waitress thinks they make their own in-house, maybe. The waitress was very attentive. The last comment is I think their lunch special is more expensive than the north end.still an excellent value.

The lasagne was great! Don't forget to start with the minestrone soup.best in Winnipeg!
