Instance 1: The staff took the wrong count of dosas. Had to walk to the staff to fix it.

Instance 2: We ordered 4 Lassi, we were served 3 first. We had to ask again to get a 4th one.

Instance 3: I paid for 4 dosas. Expected to be charged for 3 as they have buy 3 get 1 free. The staff didn't apply it. Which is kind of unethical. Later went to the staff to bring the issue to their attention but they didn't fix it.

Lesson learned: Don't pay until you see the itemized bill thoroughly. Don't trust them.

It was one of the best Kerala food after coming to Canada. I visited Manitoba for 2 days and wanted to have kerala meals. All the curries were authentic. Would highly recommend

My recent visit to this restaurant was incredibly disappointing, marking my worst dining experience to date. I ordered the Egg set dosa, and my friend opted for the fish fry along with two masala chai.

The food, was ok in taste not the best or the worst but dishes were served cold, and the utensils were not properly cleaned. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was far from pleasant - it had a gloomy ambiance, inadequate lighting, and a disgustingly dirty floor.

To make matters worse, despite our repeated requests to nearly 6 or 7 servers, the chai we ordered never arrived. Surprisingly, a family that came in after us, with seven members, all received their beverages promptly. After waiting patiently for 38 minutes, we finally decided to leave in frustration.

I must admit that I've never been this disappointed with a restaurant in Winnipeg before. Even a fellow Malayali I met later questioned my choice, stating that it's the worst place in Winnipeg for Malayalee cuisine.

I urge you, for the sake of your taste buds and dining experience, to explore other dining options in Winnipeg if you're craving Malayalee food or dosas. If you happen to be at this location, there's a neighboring restaurant in the same building called 'Kashmir Kitchen. ' I recommend giving it a try; they offer exceptional service and far superior food.

I apologize if my words seem harsh, but I felt it necessary to share my honest experience and warn potential diners in advance. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback constructively and strives to improve.

Food is excellent. Far far better than many other east Indian restaurants who promise but don't deliver. However, the space was terribly hot and dark and I ended up feeling sick just because it got too uncomfortable by the time I finished eating.

Service is not the best. Basically no staff was on floor so I had to wait until you spot staff passing by. Same staff work kitchen, reception and the floor. I respect their work and effort however, having extra hands would definitely improve the performance considering that place is crowded during peak times.

Not enough written about this Indian restaurant. The food is fresh and delicious.
Must try butter garlic dosa which is my favourite.

It's authentic South Indian food but the atmosphere might have been little better.thanks to jaison and jisha to manage our order.

The main thing you experience coming inside the eatery is the stingent smell of the urinal. In the wake of seating in a corner work space we requested for kerala style chicken and beef biriyani, porotta with beef fry and lamb curry. Except lamb curry everything was delightful, lamb curry didn't had any flavors.
Then there's the bathroom, which feels like it's never been cleaned since it opened. The floor was filthy, sticky, and had an awful odor all over it. I won't be returning or recommending it to anyone. Service was good though!

Food is average. The restaurant smells bad. I think the washroom should be kept much more clean.

We recently went to southern spices and tried their dosa. This place has an offer going on - but 3 get 1 free on dosa. We tried 4 of their dosa and all were good. Sambhar was tasty. This restaurant has full Indian vibe.

Food was great. I wish they would clean the bathroom properly. When I went to wash my hands, I lost my appetite. There was black stuff and dirt all over the wash basin. I dont want to start talking about the bathroom. Recommend take out- I wonder how the kitchen looks like, but I did not get sick eating from there.

Food isn’t taste as good as when compared to actual kerala food. I ordered peri peri chicken where they said you get it for a discounted price when ordering from the store. The real reason for the discount is that you get sliced bone pieces rather than good boneless pieces. So it doesn’t have any meat on it. Lacking hygiene.

I would give it to none of out of 100 because my experience is so bad with my family the staff were don't care about the customer and chat with employe and talked how should you comfort with that attitude no any manager over there

We had the lunch special. 9.99$ for a large amount of food. I had the beef my daughter had chicken. There is also a vegetable option. Spicy for our uncultured palates but not very spicy. I've been wanting to come here for years. I wasn't disappointed. It was very good.

I used to love ordering from this place, but literally 6 times over the past couple of weeks I have tried to call in orders for lunch and EVERY TIME, no answer.

But the food quality is degrading day by day.
I have been coming here since 2019 but it doesn't seem to be the same restaurant. Dosa's are soggy and most of the contents they are using are frozen. Frozen Chicken strips have been used which taste so bad. The chef seems to be changed and nothing tastes like before.

In terms of cleanliness, the restaurant is very bad. Don't even dare to use their washroom.

It used to be my favorite restaurant but sadly that's not the case now.

I tried gobi manchurian, mysore dosa and butter garlic dosa from here. I would say gobi manchurian was quite tasty while I felt dosas were soggy and it didn’t had that crispness in it. I really liked the sambhar though. It was really flavourful and had that Indian flavour.

Worst food quality. Not recommended at all. You will not eat out for next few months if you go there. 4 of our family members throw out as it was too much oily and worst in taste. Also don’t even think about using their washrooms.

I just ordered a butter chicken and it was delicious. When I was ordering, I asked if their butter chicken comes in different heat levels like mild, medium, and hot. They that wasn't on their menu but if I wanted they could make it a little extra hot for me. It was a perfect level of heat. I will definitely order from Southern spices again.

South Indian food was good. The chicken 65 quantity was not soo great but the taste was fine.

Want to try their parottas and other dishes.

The place definitely can be a lot cleaner. The restroom is something which needs major looking into.

Word of advice, use the restroom before getting your food or get a take out. You want the food smell to remain in your memory not the restroom smell.

Restaurant is outdated and not clean at all. Washroom stinks with urine smell and not enough space. Waiting time to get the food is minimum 1 hour for a table of 4 people.

Tips for Owners to stay in business- Please do update the washroom and pay an employee to clean the washroom area at least once in a week. It felt like a public washroom in india that's even inside of a place where you serve food. None of us wants maleria from your restaurant.

Food review-
Chatti Chore- Excellent except too much rice instead of curry.
Pothi chore- Good, can be great if you add some VeggieTales thoran to the plate.
Beef fry- waste. Do not buy this as it is cooked few days back and too much oil. You will throw up and get sick.

Kappa biriani- overly spiced and you will have a heart burn right after you eat.
Kappa and fish curry - Good and fish curry sauce has a special flavor which is good.
Kizhi porotta- Not good. Not even comparable to the original recipe.

It had good crispy dosas. Overall decent place for having South Indian cuisine. We were driving from Winnipeg to Thunder Bay and found it very convenient en route. Happy that my kid could eat her comfort food. Would certainly return if in this area again.
Washrooms need some renovations though.

A true hidden gem. We were visiting Winnipeg for a day, came across this random restaurant, decided to try out. The food was heavenly, tried the dosa, chilly beef & chilly chicken, kothu parotha & payasam. All the food items were mind-blowing.

Gave them 4 stars out of 5, because the washroom wasn't clean & the service was a bit prolonged.
