Southland Restaurant 新旺角酒樓

Amazing place for groups that has tasty authentic Chinese food that can be shared between friends and families. One of the only place where you can get fish fried rice and many other healthy choices. Will come back again for sure if I'm in the area.

The dim sum here is at most times better or rivals some of the busiest largest restaurant in Chinatown without the heavy wait times and prestige of a dine out experience serving the masses. Fresh rice rolls so far have been the best in the city.
I would appreciate it if they brought back the sushi seafood dim sum roll which was unique and delicious. Bean curd crispy roll with sauce is tastier than any kingdom, or garden I've tried. Talk about dim fun you can order sum dim frozen to go and cook it at home.

Ordered take out, not sure if the restaurant has changed owners. The quality of food has gone downhill and the prices have gone up almost doubled. Ginger beef dry and stringy not good colour. The spicy shrimp with sea salt used to be spicy and crunchy, no more it had a gooey bread consistency. Shanghai noodles had hardly no vegetables and was not spicy. The Deluxe rice was dry and plain, had some meat that was it. I will probably never go back.

I ordered chicken fried rice and chicken balls. Rice arrived with nothing mixed in it at all, not only was zero vegetables or egg their was hardly any chicken either. The worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant please avoid this place for the sake of you and your family. Chicken balls were also very poor quality and we eat Chinese food all the time just won't order here again.

Good price, good taste. Atmosphere can be better but it is OK. Eggplant dish and beef hoy fen are very tasty tasty

Phone them for a Takeout so they could save commission on SkipTheDishes. The have new increst price on menu in the store, but did not update SkipTheDishes app. I asked to bill me the price on Skip as that's the price I'd get if I make them pay commission on SKIP, which is worse off for them. However, they insist on charing me the new menu increase price. It's a matter of $5 extra, but I never coming back! I used to buy from this restaurant once or twice a month, but I'll never come back.

The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming, with tasteful decor and comfortable seating.

But the real standout was the food. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious, from the perfectly cooked mixed vegetables to the mouth-watering Fried Longli Fish with Onion and Ginger Soy Sauce. The chefs clearly put a lot of care and attention into each dish, and it showed in every bite.

What really impressed us was the variety on the menu - there was something for everyone, whether you're in the mood for classic comfort food or something a bit more adventurous. And everything we tried was cooked to perfection, with the right balance of flavors and textures.

Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Southland Restaurant. The service was top-notch, the atmosphere was inviting, and the food was absolutely delicious. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal in Winnipeg.
