I have been receiving dental care from Dr Zimak for about 4 years. He is very friendly and knowledgeable and makes his patients feel at ease. I was referred to him, and found out that I have two other friends that also see him for their dental work. I highly recommend this dentist and even his office staff and hygienists are friendly and gentle in their care.

Everyone is friendly there, the hygienist was very gentle while doing my cleaning, and Dr. Kalra was great. It felt like we continued the conversation we had the last cleaning.

Brought my son and they squeezed me in two weeks earlier than my appointment. I was in and out in 30 minutes. The place runs like a navy ship.

I was at the clinic and everyone was very nice and helpful from the receptionist to the hygienist to the dentist. As an international student, the clinic covered 20% of my bills and the insurance company covered 80%. Need I say I will 100% recommend.

By far the best and the most friendly dental Clinic in Winnipeg. I almost pray for teeth problems just so I can go and visit the awesome staff.

Dr. Zimac is a nice person and does his best to achieve what the patient needs. BUT! You must read the following:
The office management is a whole other story though which unfortunately makes the whole experience a "must avoid".
I had a tooth filling done on a front tooth with Dr. Zimac back in 2019, within the year I went back because the tooth filling was obvious and stained. I got charged again $107.00. I was ok with it thinking at least my tooth is fixed. Fast forward a year later, the same stain occurred, so I went back to see dr. Zimac, he fixed it again for me, and as I'm leaving, I thought let me ask if I would get charged again if the filling didn't work out. It would be the 4th time I would have to come back to see the dentist for the same tooth which is inconvenient, frustrating, and I get charged for that on top of it all.
The office manager was very very very rude, she went on and on about how fillings don't have a warranty exceeding 1 year, in a very rude tone. When I looked back, the second time I went back to fix it was within the year and I was still charged. So it's obviously an excuse to prove the patient is wrong. Regardless of all of this, she was so rude to the point where I had to step out and cry in my car so I decided to write this review.
On top of all of this, the office lost my mouth guard, which I had ordered back in July and told them I won't pick it up until later on as I was away, and this same office manager couldn't explain where it was lost, still waiting on updates about that.
So overall, to sum up the experience, the dentist is nice, but his office manager has 0 customer service skills, she is rude, and has 0 understanding of what dr. Zimac does, and she would throw any excuses to your face just to charge you extra and over and over again!

I visited this clinic for a cleaning and was fitted for a nightguard over the course of three visits. Overall, I was quite disappointed with the experience. The dentists here barely see the patients at all and when they do they talk at you without asking questions or listening to your concerns. For example, I was assured that the night guard I was being fitted with was going to be notably different from (and better than) the one that I had had previously. It is the exact same style, just newer, and causes me the same problems that I told the dentist the previous one had. I actually saw a dentist only 2/3 visits and then only very briefly. The communication between the dentists, hygienists and reception is also lacking; I was asked questions that really should have been directed by the dentists or communicated by reception prior to my visit. Finally, the fact that certain services are covered by my insurance seemed to be enough justification for recommending that service, without any further explanation or discussion. Of all the dentists I have seen in the past, this was my worst experience.

I am highly pleased with this dental office and the care I have been receiving. Dr. Kalra and assistant Savanah, have taken great care of my smile while using Invisalign. They explain each part of the process, to ensure the patient will have the best results. I always receive a warm welcome from Michelle, who makes me as a patient feel comfortable upon arrival.
Additionally, they have great availability - even if you need evening appmts.

Ive been here 3 times in the past 30 days and Im very much satisfied with the work they've done on my teeth. Dr Kalra and both the hygienist were super nice and knowledgeable.

I haven't always had the best experience with dental clinics. I am an extremely nervous and anxious patient but Dr Kevin is very friendly and understanding, he takes into account my level of fear in everything he does and works me through the process. Which helps a lot with my anxiety.
The staff are equal amazing, extremely nice and answering even the silliest questions. Excellent service!

Very friendly, professional, organized and accommodating. The receptionists, hygienists and doctors are all friendly. After visiting several clinics and trying different doctors, I have finally found a good place for dental care. I had a positive experience and will definitely recommend this clinic for any dental care needs.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kalra for almost 4 years now, and he has been nothing short of an amazing dentist. I felt pretty indifferent to the clinic and the staff until today. I was given an appointment for 10 am, showed up exactly on time to be told that my appointment was for 2 pm apperently. They were polite but the way they handled the conversation in my opinion was mediocre at best, never admitted fault, told me the other patient appointment was booked way in advance (which is likely given that they offered me this appointment 3 days ago), they missed all the ABCs of how to apologize. The appointment was not booked over the phone but rather in person, and I added it to my calendar right away, and I have a very important meeting at 2 today, that I can't even humor the thought of double booking myself. I would say avoid Southwood dental if your time is valuable and you can't afford such a mistake be it whether you're busy, or it's a bit of a commute for you to get there.

Another excellent visit. Doctor Z keeps you well informed of what and why he is doing the work. The Assistants and Hygenists are excellent, very personable, professional and skillful.

Everytime I visit I leave feeling thankful for Dr. Kalra. I have pretty intense anxiety over dental work and he is very patient, understanding and compassionate. 10/10 would recommend.
