Super 8 by Wyndham Swan River MB

For older place really expensive.
Everything seemed good but for $250 a night.
It wasn't worth it.

The car charger at the hotel is non-functional. Hotel charged for a full nights stay even though I had to leave in search of a place to charge. I could have stayed the night if the front desk even had knowledge of an outlet that had a decent amount of current. Clearly ownership here is not ready for this century. Everything about this place is from yesterday.

Everything about my experience with this hotel was positive. My stay was not exactly by choice, I was stranded in Swan River by a snow storm, but the staff did everything they could to smooth the rough edges off that. Check in was friendly and efficient, even for someone showing up unannounced on a dark and stormy night. I was so glad they had a place for me, and the price, though not the cheapest, was reasonable once all the relevant discounts had been applied. I think they were kind enough to upgrade me to an executive suite for some reason, which made it an incredible bargain. For my money I got an incredibly clean, very quiet room that smelled and looked very fresh. The furniture looked very new and stylish (nothing stale or rundown here), everything in excellent condition. There were so many little thoughtful touches that pushed this room into the superstar category. The bed was so clean, and so comfortable, totally in the Goldilocks zone, not too hard and not too soft, and so roomy. I fell asleep almost instantly, which is a rarity for me in a strange hotel on the first night. It was so quiet (though you could hear some noise from an adjacent room if you listened hard enough). The building was set so far back from the highway and the window curtains were so solid and fitted together so well that no highway noise or outside light penetrated. The in-room heating system was fantastic, so easy to figure out and quite powerful, able to get things to the temperature you wanted very quickly. Yet it also featured a quiet mode, that allowed you to adjust the room temperature without feeling you were just behind a jet about to take off. There were also chairs to sit on, which must be so handy for anyone who has to wait while their partner gets ready. The bathroom was super clean and roomy and stocked with more than the usual amenities (including a shoeshine cloth). My room also featured a chesterfield, two TVs, and an antechamber that could be separated from the bedroom by a sliding door, but I am not sure how standard that feature is. There was also a small fridge, micro wave, and fully-stocked coffee-maker and a large comforter (which I didn't need to use but appreciated). The room was so deep you were isolated from any noise and light that might emanate from the main corridor. Lots of well-lit parking and close to the downtown, several restaurants, a convenience store, and major food store only a few minutes away on foot. It also features an ample free continental breakfast, well-stocked with waffles, bagels, toast, fruit, yoghurt, several kinds of cereal and juice and coffee and tea and a large room to eat them in, no crowding evident when I was there.
I really loved this place and its amenities and wonderful, caring staff turned a boo situation into a yay situation for me. I would look forward to staying there again under more auspicious circumstances. Strongly recommended, one of the best and friendliest places I’ve ever stayed in!

Typical chain hotel, but a few things stood out for me. This place was incredibly clean. I’m a clean freak and I loved how clean the place was! We had our 4 small dogs with us and they accommodated us very well, switched our reservation to a main floor room. Nice and quiet. I thought a long weekend we’d hear people partying or simply being loud; that wasn’t the case here. Couldn’t hear anything! Bed and pillows were decently comfortable. Will definitely book again next time my family heads to Swan River!

This hotel hosted the majority of my family, friends, and most importantly my bride for the weekend of our wedding. Everyone raved how friendly the staff were and what a good feeling they got in the hotel and in the outer BBQ area. Thank you Super 8 staff for making their stay a pleasant one!

This is a Super 8 in small town Manitoba so don't expect 5 star luxury. But the rooms were clean, bed was comfortable and staff helpful and polite.

Nice clean roomy rooms. Very clean and check in was fast and friendly. Lots of parking. Mattress was comfortable had a decent sleep.

Compassionate rate is $150 per night which is $90 higher than other Super 8 standard rates and $25 higher than a hotel down the road with a pool and restaurant.

We will not stay at this hotel ever again
