They don't give fresh wasabi to take out orders. We ordered 4 rolls and only 1 pair of chopsticks? Ok

The food was very good, especially considering the price. Quick service, delicious food, we will definitely be back.

Outstanding attentive service at this gem of a sushi restaurant. They went the extra mile to make sure that the kids had a good experience, with cute drinkware and kids chopsticks.
The food was fresh and delicious, especially the Call Me roll.
There was brisk takeout business while we dined, but it didn't detract from our dinner.

The sushi I ordered was delish, even their miso soup was full of flavor. You'd think that would be standard with other sushi restaurants, but t's not. I'd go back! Good service, and friendly servers

We went for lunch on a Saturday and the restaurant wasn't full but service was really slow probably because of delivery and take out orders. The servers were nice and friendly. The food was pretty good as well - we ordered a party platter. I would recommend the sexy salmon roll and the tiger roll.

I came here with two of my friends and I ordered a basic udon noodle soup with some tempura on the side.

Although it was my friends that ordered sushi and not me, I was very impressed with the food that they got, and the variety of different rolls available.

One of my friends is vegetarian and this restaurant has quite a few different options for vegetarian rolls, which I love. My other friend ended up with some chicken teriyaki rolls, which she liked and said they were very good.

I understand that the main focus of this restaurant is sushi. That being considered the soup I ordered was quite basic. I am writing this review a few days after I came to this restaurant, but I remember my soup was almost all noodles and broth, with two slices of fish cakes and some fish flakes.

The tempura I had on the side though was lovely and well done (there was one piece each of the usual zucchini, yam, shrimp etc.).

Service, price, and location were all very good for this restaurant, and I would love to come back. However I will definitely be ordering sushi/tempura instead of a soup.

Great sushi, but even better service and staff! Would definitely come back. Everyone was so friendly and very accommodating and attentive with our big party.

While this restaurant has good food the service is terrible. Since changing ownership, I have noticed the staff being very rude over the phone when ordering take out. They argued with me over the fact that they had charged me for a roll but it was not in my order. They tried to placate me with a credit which I was forced to accept as they would make that one roll up for me. If ordering items such as the Avocado cucumber roll, double check your order as mine wasn't included the last two times. I would think the chef is missing that roll as they list it on the order as "AC roll" which I think the chefs miss. The mistakes on the orders and the rudeness of at least two of the staff have taken this from one of my most favorite restaurants to my least favorite. Also, agree with other reviews regarding sanitary condition in bathroom. Will be looking for a new sushi place to go in the near future.

My husband and I really enjoyed our dynamite rolls, beef teriyaki roll noodle salad and miso soup.

Always good quality sushi served here with smiles and respect. It was a favorite spot for me and a special someone. Glad it hasn’t changed. The sushi pizza is still one of my favorites.

This sushi restaurant USED to be the best. Not sure what happened by my husband and I don't care for the food anymore. Tastes different.
Won't return again!

My youngest and I had the best dinner experience at Sushi Hon. Food is the greatest and server was very polite and charming. I will surely recommend this awesome restaurant to my firends and relatives.

WONDERFUL place! My wife and I were staying in the area for a anniversary staycation, and wanted sushi. So happy we picked this place! Our server was SOOOOOOOO nice, the food was delicious, and the whole experience was fantastic! Will absolutely be back!

Downhill since new management. Many items previously offered not avail, staff just gave you what they think you want, not what you ordered and when one has allergies, this is dangerous. Used to be our “go to” place but since new owners, I find it’s not good at all. Won’t be back and also washrooms were filthy. If washrooms; that customers see are gross then what about kitchens that we have no access to? Sorry but we need a new sushi restaurant spot

Absolutely phenomenal place! We have been regular customers for a couple of years and the place is fantastic. Best sushi in Winnipeg and great service especially from Ehms. The owner’s work ethic is exceptional even from the fact that he himself was delivering food during the pandemic. You are always welcome here and their hours are great. Truly recommend! Go support the local restaurant, you will not be disappointed! Thank you to the owner and workers for such a great place! Amazing!

Great and friendly service, amazing and delicious foods. Sushi are made fresh. I super like the sushi pizza especially which has unique and delicious taste that I've never tried before. Highly recommended!

Very rude service. Disposable chopsticks, no soy sauce only if you asked a few times. If you are about to finish but still talking, a rude lady will grab the bill to you, they do not care if you are still eating. The same lady, i think she is the boss, just running in the restaurant, i do not know why, maybe wants the customer know that they are very busy and if you finished do not stay just pay and go!

i do not understand why it is 4.4 stars. Will Never visit this restaurant again.

Love this place. First time I had tried sushi was from this place, and I’m addicted to it, however I learnt that tipping in Japanese culture, is considered rude? I’d like to know the employees input on that, because I often tip a-lot because I very much enjoy Japanese culture and food, so I’m always euphoric when I pick up from there. But I also don’t want to be purposely upsetting someone.

Nice and clean Japanese restaurant. Food is fresh and yummy. This is our most favorite place for Sushi in Winnipeg.

Always the best sushi in Winnipeg; Always has been. Thank you for continually being okay with my "no mayo" preference lol. One of the few places in canada that I've been that offers a Bakudan Roll and the salmon variation of this is my absolute favourite!

Best Sushi in Winnipeg, blatantly false advertising though. They offer "city-wide delivery" but apparently Saint-Boniface, which is about halfway through the city for them is "too far" so they refused delivery order. I wouldn't mind if they didn't offer it as a service for them to refuse this service.

First time here, very fast and friendly service, sushi was fresh and the tempura was still warm when we got it. Inside seemed clean and the staff were very friendly!

This sushi place blew us away! Amazing sushi, the staff are so friendly and attentive. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Highly recommend the kimchi tuna roll! We don't live in the city but this will be a must stop whenever we are here.

They refused to service and turned us away because their staff left early. Probably won't go back.shame.

This is a place with very unaccommodating staff. Decided to to dine there with my sister who doesn’t have a driver license nor a Manitoba Health care as she is an international student. She tried to show her bank statement along with her passport, but the waiter rudely refused and tried to make us look like fools. We tried to explain them all the situation, but he kept the rude attitude. We just decided to go Joey Kenaston across the street, where the service was on point!

Very tasty takeout sushi. We mainly tried the maki rolls and a few appetizers. Very friendly pickup, inexpensive sushi and quick.

Food was amazing! Took out a fair size order, everything was there and everything tasted awesome. Well worth the hour long one way drive it took to get there from my place!

This is usually our go to place for sushi. We have a family of 4 so always have a few rolls. Placed an order yesterday and were told it would be an hour wait for their own delivery service (which is the owner). 1.45 hours later we called and the front staff told us that he left over 30 minutes ago. She then directed me to speak to him when he dropped it off. When he arrived he came rushing up the stairs, dropped the food and tried to run away quickly. When I asked what happened and why we were quoted an hour he then proceeded to blame his front staff. By the time he got to us our sushi was soft and our tempura was mushy. The receipt itself even had 5: 45 written on it and he came at 6: 33. He advised that he would call me when he got back to the restaurant and nothing. I called back and the front staff said he would call as well.nothing. I’m super super disappointed in this restaurant and will not be going back or ordering. If they had told us it would be almost 2 hours before our food was coming I wouldn’t have ordered or would have gone to pick it up. Just be truthful when customers order and don’t brush it off. Extremely poor customer service.

This is not my go to place for sushi in Winnipeg, but my usual place had a 2 hr wait so I thought I'd try something closer to home, BIG MISTAKE. I've had better sushi from a grocery store. What I got for $14 wouldn't have even been enough for even a lunch. The California roll I got was the size of a tootsie roll. Did they run out of rice or something? The other roll was a deep fried roll and it was extremely small too and hardly any filling. Don't even waste your time and MONEY trying this place, go to Superstore if you have to, but don't go here. Even the staff weren't friendly. One star is too much but there's no other option.

Very good sushi! Lots of chicken in the yakisoba and plenty of fish in the rolls. Try the Korean style chirashi (hedeopbap) if you like spicy food. Will order from them again!

This is the best sushi in Winnipeg.we stumbled upon this gem about a month ago and were amazed by how delicious and reasonably priced it is. Our second visit today was even better! Absolutely everything we've sampled is delicious; from the sushi pizza, the beef tataki, the rolls, the miso.and the Sapporo frozen beer. 5. On top of fabulous food is the service! A+!

I can not recommend this restaurant enough. If we lived closer we would probably be in at least twice a week!

The food was okay.the yakisoba felt too undercooked so my jaw started hurting after a while, but other than that it was fine.the owner of the restaurant is why i'm giving one star.all through my meal i felt uncomfortable; he pointed at me a couple of times while talking to a server.but like.don't point at people, that's rude.he actually went so far as to yell at one of his employees in front of customers and i don't know what she did wrong but that kind of behaviour is not okay.overall, i wouldn't come here again, on the off chance that the owner might be in the store.

This is a really special place for us. The owner greets us and serves us personally as we see this with many of their customers. The food is exceptional and amazing. We love everything on the menu. Highly recommended. Great convenient location as well.

Did the lunch specials today and they were fantastic! Fresh food, excellent service and a pleasant environment is why I go there. Prices for the lunch specials were very reasonable too. Always a great dining experience!

I came with a group of people and tried a lot of the food. The selection is huge and the food (including the sushi and the yakisoba) were delicious, and very reasonably priced!

My husband and I go to Sushi Hon on a regular basis for date nights and/or celebrations, it's always fresh and delicious. The owner is very personable and is genuine with his interactions with customers, serving staff as well. The restaurant takes pride in their ingredients and the quality is never questionable.

Service not so good. Three stars because it's tasty food and nice boss, he always has smell on his face.

Great friendly staff, great food and very reasonably priced. Cater to kids very nicely, we always get something that lights up for them, like a spoon or cup. They love it as well!

Very nice selection of rolls, and pricing was reasonable. If you don't eat fish there are also a selection of vegetarian rolls or ones with beef or chicken.

It is a valuebly recommanded restaurent of sushi for lunch or taking some food in short time. Even the manu is not so rich as some bid restaurant, but all food are delicious, and the service is nice.

I go here all the time. They have great quality for the price point. The space is nice and the service is good.

This is hands down one of my favourite places in town!
The food is top notch, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, the prices are absolutely fair and it's a nice environment.
I've been recommending this place to people years now.
