Tartan Towing

You pay them to be your daddy. They earn over thousand dollars per day and only a creepy little portion goes into their pocket.
They still act like your daddy.

I got a ticket at 8: 55pm and my car was towed at 9: 02pm (as stated by the staff of the towing company). Seemed like they were waiting to tow the car to get money. Ridiculous!
When I requested them to reduce the amount as I picked up my car at 9: 30pm, they told me to request the city. Horrible!

So they claim they are the official towers of Tesla in the city yet they caused damage to my Tesla when they towed it. When I called MPI the lady had mentioned mine is not the only Tesla damaged by them. They can’t be trusted.

The most horrible experience a driver could ever experience! My car got towed by this company when I called to confirm; the caller states that my car was already picked by someone else! And that I should call 911 for possible stolen vehicle! I was in distress and panic mode and this individual didn't even take time to hear me out! I ended Calling the cops and while on phone the individual calls me back and saying that there was mistake, it was similar car but different number plates! I just couldn't believe. The disgusting experience i had, would never ever wish it to anyone! And at the end he didn't even acknowledge nor apologize on the situation until I called him out! Worst customer care service ever!

I called yesterday to have my car towed to a local dealer. My car is very low and the driver was able to get it on dollies. No damages to the vehicle. The driver was super polite and helpful.

They were quick and were at my car in 20mins. 100% would use again.

My husband paid for a tow to a transmission shop on his credit card (still visible on the statement today, this happened a month ago). Today we get a call from the transmission shop that we paid Tartan tow the car to, letting us know that Tartan Towing SHOWED UP TO THE SHOP claiming the tow was never paid for!? No call no email from Tartan to us, just showed up to the shop, even though we have been charged on the credit card. What the hell kind of business practice is that? !

The man that helped me was crying the entire time. I’m not sure why he was crying but he looked very sad. Knowing that this company makes their employees cry like that I know I won’t be going back. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

These people are crooks, 1.1 million tax paying dollars taken, what a fraudulent company, good luck paying that 1.1 million dollars hope you guys go bankrupt.please never use this company

The front desk did not inform me of the ticket issued on my vehicle- it was missing from my windshield when I went to pick it up.

This place frauded the city of Winnipeg. The should loose all future contract. Be charged with fraud

How are they even allowed to operate their business? The car got towed for absolutely no reason and they don't have proof whatsoever. When asked all they say they can't do anything about it once towed and come up with a made up reason. There was no restriction on parking whatsoever. Seriously laws really need to be changed to stop such scamming companies to take advantage of people. This should be Illegal! This place needs to be shut down.

Sleazy business essentially with a legal way of racketeering, thanks to city contracting. Money hungry and always looking to tow on snow routes even when there is no snow clearing.

I admittedly left my car parked on a street when working. Street was marked with distantly spaced and obscure snow route signs and I missed them. So yes, by by-law and definition I am in the wrong.

If there was clearing to be done, I'd have no issue. But when the whole city remains covered in snow well past snow ban hours, it doesn't sit well with me. Just leave the ticket sans the tow if nothing is to be done.

Just watched the flatbed driver run a car off the road. Both driver and passenger laughing as they nearly run me off the road. Driving way too fast for the conditions and complete disregard for anyone else on the road.

They still tow your truck even when there's person inside. And wont speak to you if you said NO on their $300+ scam to prevent it from towing. Had to involve the police. He wont give his name (truck #346) or his manager information to call. Really bad and traumatic experience. Be careful out there everyone.

Stay away from this towing company after towing my car they opened and take my tuls and same coins they are totally disrespect talked after they damaged the car.

Look alright, nobody wants to get towed. But when you roll up to pickup your car with a slump in your step it's truly a delight to see such handsome staff such as this young gentleman named Kyle who made my experience delightful. Keep up the good work.

Car got impounded for 90 days. During the time my car was stored on their lot my car’s bumper was either hit twice or Tartan damaged my vehicle. There were still debris of the bumper of the vehicle that hit me. The paint on the debris pieces matches the colour of the hit spots on my bumper. Office staff didn’t care to give me any help when I told them my car has been damaged. Unprofessional. Had to make a police report and mpi claim for a hit n run. I had to pay my deductible

The demon of a female working the counter last night is beyond miserable. Hopefully you have enough alcohol to cope with the rest of your miserable life. Regards

I hate this company. I have witnessed them hit and run a car, improperly load a car and in our case, inappropriately tow a car. Also see them sniping cars 1 minute after no parking bans begin. Unethical.

HORRIBLE experience, tow truck drivers will watch you park somewhere and instead of telling you that you can’t park there they wait until you leave your car so they can just tow it anyway. No hospitality what so ever, they don’t apologize when they are wrong or even give a discount when they mess up on their end! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE, MONEY HUNGRY INCONSIDERATE CORPORATION

Extremely unorganized. They appear to be unable to find cars that are in their possession. Had to call multiple times and got conflicting information.

Well, they towed me. Parked in the wrong place at the wrong time (thanks Winnipeg downtown) but nice staff and helpful.

After waiting 48 hours for a tow from caa I called here and they were too busy, but suggested I call a small company which I did. They were very helpful and polite. I would certainly use them again if I needed.

Got my car out in no time. All I had to do was pay them. Will definitely have my car towed by them again!

I have a truck of theirs constantly parked in the front of my house daily and I am getting sick and tired of hearing the engine run all day and night. You need to deal with the driver ASAP

There was a set price.a lil delay based on the driver not willing to coperare and do the tow properly instead of doing damage.whuch he did by bending a trk hinge which will cost me $300.00 to replace a 1957 trunk hinge.at the end he suddenly up the price fr $211.00 to $250.00 saying.oh i had to stay a extra hr.not true.

They were very polite and tried to be understanding. Even though there were serious complications to getting our vehicle back they tried their best and were very patient and polite.

These guys are disrespectful. Picked up my friends car at 12: 00, we called at 12: 15 asking tartan if they had her car and they said yes. We got there at 12: 30 via taxi and it took them an EXTRA 30 minutes for the guy to show up because he decided to go on lunch with the vehicle attached to his tow truck? Real professional besties

Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, in person, but trying to get through to them on the phone was impossible, easier to just go to their Higgins location and talk to them in person

Tartan provided Roadside Assistance 3x during our Bitter Cold Weather Spell. Each time they were fast and responsive. My Faulty Battery has been replaced by the Dealership. All is Great in My World again.

The truck driver couldn't start my car but still wanted $60.38. I only had debit and he wouldn't drive me to an ATM. So he tows my car to their yard. It cost me $188.74 and they hadn't done anything. Even when I went to retrieve it the next day a young very large gentleman at the desk told me I couldn't use the washroom. 'Not for the public' he said. I do have honest and reliable people to help me now. So I won't have to call Tartan anymore. And you shouldn't either.

Complete scum bags. They will literally laugh at you and your misfortunes. Stay away from these guys.

Our forklift’s back wheels got jammed, called for help, within less than 15 minutes a wonderful driver came and got us out of our pickle. 10/10! Thanks for your help!

Parked my car sideways in the 2 car driveway then locked my keys in it. Wouldnt respond to any messages or emails after.

Very poor customer service. Hard to get anyone to answer the phone and even harder to get a call back when you leave a message. Was informed that they don’t check for or return phone messages. Would leave a negative 5 star if possible.

A guy named Salamon (I hope I spelled it right) is very polite, friendly and has great skills. Pulled out an SUV from a very tight garage in a very narrow back lane with no damage. Great service. Thank you

Well, found myself needing a tow on New Year’s Eve. The gentleman that came to tow me went above and beyond to try and get my vehicle going so I wouldn’t have to pay for a tow, spent time trying to help me find a garage that was open to take it. Very very friendly, professional and speedy. Excellent experience

They gave me 2 quotes on the phone. First one if they didn't have to use the rear tire lifts, 2nd if they did. I knew how much it would cost, there were no "surprise" charges at the end. Happy with the price.
They driver was quick getting there. He was friendly and careful with my suv. Took pictures and put in the additional safety lights.
Got my SUV home safe. All good.

These guys are crooks, they were suppised to tow the car to our house but the driver who barely spoke english towed it to their compound then they lost it for a day so they could charge extra fees. Dont use these guys theybare criminals

My car broke down and called different towing services but all couldn’t do it but tartan did and the gentlemen that helped me out was nice friendly professional his name is Anmol! I will only be using tartan for towing, and price was good

The worst place. I will give Zero rating if I would have an option. First they towed my vehicle from street when I called them they told me that your vehicle is stolen. Then I called Winnipeg police to report the stolen vehicle. After 1 month I got a call from wps and officer told me that vehicle was located in tartan towing's compound. When I went there to get my vehicle they were asking me to pay 1100 dollars for storage cost. So basically they just want to make money. After that I contacted Consumer protection Manitoba and complained regarding the matter. Then they involved in the matter and I got my vehicle back without storage costs. If anyone has difficulties first call consumer protection Manitoba or small claims court to file the case against them.

These people of had AA history of towing of the wrong car out of our work parking lot. After a breakdown they were the contact for GM roadside assistance and they lost the car. It took us 4 hours to find it based on the crude description of what the lot he dumped it in. Looked like.

Towed 3 vehicles with no reason. No signage video and photo evidence to prove. Towed a rear wheel drive vehicle improperly and destroyed the tires, transmission, brakes and potentially suspension. Do not let these guys close to your vehicles! They obviously hire uneducated staff.

As a ex tow truck operator of 15 years I was impressed with the professionalism, punctuality and experience that driver #311 displayed this afternoon when he came to tow my vehicle. Nobody looks forward to calling a tow truck but you guys made it a good experience. I will definitely use you again and refer you to others. Thanks

It was quick and simple to retrieve my vehicle. I appreciate the staff being polite about the whole process.

Run by a bunch of thugs! They towed my car and the cable holding my car to the back of the tow truck snapped and my car fell off the back, drifted into the oncoming lane where another car smashed into it, totalling my car! What did tartan towing do about it? Nothing! Unacceptable!

Drivers are Very nice peoples, my car got towed in parking ban because city was doing the snow cleaning, i asked one of their driver where is my car impounded he checked his app and explained me where he parked my car.

Had a flat. Called them to come help as I couldn't get the tire off. Was told 90 minutes for the driver to arrive. And this is the only bright spot in the entire experience. The driver showed up after 25 minutes. Well ahead of what I was told. The truck operator took over and tried getting the tire off as well. He tried banging it with the spare, WD40 (which I had to supply as he couldn't find his) and even sticking some metal rod behind and tried prying it. And he didn't get it off. So instead he filled the tire up with air (it had a screw lodged in it) and said I could drive it to the tire shop to get fixed. Then charged me 60 bucks (the exact same as changing the tire) for work he didn't do! I knew air was pricy but holy! I'll never use them again and advise others not to as well!

#326 was the best, he went above and beyond super friendly guy very professional, was told 45-1hr wait, he showed up not 20 minutes after the call love you guys, you are the freaking best

Tow truck drivers are prompt, helpful and deal with the situation properly. Prices are reasonable.

Horrible experience.charged me 150 for towing it maybe 5min away.stole my bluetooth earbuds out of my locked car as well.

Requested a jump start; the car had a more complex issue, but the ETA was met & I even got a ride home to boot.

They towed my cousins car from a loading zone. She has a disabled son and parked there to load. A disreputable company.

Does not deserve any stars. DO NOT SUPPORT this Piece of Sh&t company - just saw an AHOLE driver extort money from a women as she was running to move her vehicle. Disgusting!

Half an hour ago, one of their drivers came to tow my car from in front of my place (city was doing work on the street and I hadn't noticed the parking restriction signs put out). I saw the guy preparing to tow my car so I went outside to move it. Immediately when I got outside, I saw him back the flatbed truck into my bumper. When I confronted him about it, he immediately started denying that he had done it.

I am currently waiting for a call back from their safety officer.

UPDATE: Just got word that Tartan won't be paying my deductible because their driver refused to take responsibility for damaging my car. This company disgusts me and the owners should be ashamed of themselves.
