While it was a bad experience at the time, Eric the manager got back to me immediately and is taking steps to fix it. Gonna leave it at 4 stars for now as I havnt gone back yet (but I will try it again). I'll update it again after I've gone back and tried it after his fixes

Went in on a slow Friday night, seated ourselves as there was no hostess and lots of open tables. Horrible service, took over 30 minutes to have a waitress take our order and just as long to get the first drink. Waitress was rude when questioned why it was taking so long, drinks took forever to come, beer was warm and drinks orders were wrong. When we went to pay the drink tabs were also wrong. In 2.5 hours we managed to order two drinks and it was like pulling teeth to get those drinks.

My family went for wings and other assorted pub food. Having eaten at the Tavern downtown I had always been pretty satisfied, but the food on Empress was mediocre (lacked flavour and in some cases a little dry), the service wasn't bad but not great and the lighting was dark. Overall, not what I had expected.

Went for a birthday on a Sunday evening. The place was nearly empty, so I was definitely surprised when the only server working took 20 minutes to approach our table. Drink service was abysmal to say the least. Instead of using a tray to bring drinks to the table, she brought them individually, one or two at a time when we had 10+ people ordering. Highlight of the night was when she brought the wrong beer to someone, he took two sips before releasing it wasn't what he ordered. Server was notified of this and her solution to the problem was to take the previously drank beer and give it to the right recipient at our table, 3/4 full.
Needless to say, we won't return.

Extremely slow service on a quiet night. Maybe 6 other guests, forgotten orders, and anemic looking wings. Stay away.

Worst experience ever.was looking forward to having an enjoyable and affordable wing night.server got our orders completely wrong not once or twice but multiple times.she initially had a bill of $900 for us, we were a group of 5.she clarified with us after getting her first calculation, and we explained to her our order again and thought that it was all resolved.when our food started getting served, it was an even bigger mess.we were served so many baskets of wings, none of which correlated to our order and what was written on her notepad.this bill for whatever was served was $200.we asked to speak to the manager because this was just unbelievable.he offered to take one basket off our bill ($10.99) which obviously was not helpful.he then offered to give us a 10% discount ($20) which again did not resolve the issue at all.he then told us to wait some more as he comes up with a solution and never came back.even after talking to the manager, more and more plates were being served to us.the server also told us that we couldn’t order half of one flavour and half of another, which you can! The manager even told us that its either we order a pound of half/half.lastly, we were never served our nachos either.what a wonderful place right.this is the first time we’ve experienced such terrible customer service.the issue was never resolved.we will not be going back to tavern by polo park.i would never recommend this place to anyone. (p.s. I was just told by other friends and families that they’ve also had horrible service from this place many many times)

Incredibly disappointing!
The beer on tap was flat and tinny and the blended "margaritas" were syrupy and over sweet.
The food was the most disappointing. My ribs were overcooked to the point of being burnt and crunchy. My husband's steak and Guinness poutine was greasy and the fries soggy. The gravy was clumpy, didn't touch the actual fries and the cheese was scant at best.
The atmosphere in general is tired and run down. This location is MILE'S away from the fun, boisterous feel of the other Tavern United locations in Winnipeg!

Extremely disorganized, servers take forever to come serve you, I've watched multiple tables leave due from poor service, especially when its empty and there 3-5 staff roaming around. Even with take out, the food is cold by the time you get it and orders are often messed up.
We left due to poor service and had to order food to go, and took a total of 2 hours to get any type of food. By the time we got our food everything was cold and soggy, and the pizza was burnt like crazy. Super disappointed overall.

Super disappointed and won’t be returning. We tried calling in to order and was placed on hold for 15 minutes, it seems the hostess just put the phone down and forgot about us. Tried calling back and there was no answer. We decided just to go in and order to go. We ordered the nachos and the le burger week burger. The nachos came with almost no toppings, no sour cream or salsa in the bag. The nachos were surprisingly small for how much they are charging, and we live two minutes down the street and they were cold by the time we got home. The le burger week burger was meh and fries were soggy. Would not recommend.

Just waited 20 mins seated in a booth, no one came by even for drink orders. Asked the hostess if anyone was coming to take our order, she went back to the hostess booth then walked outside without telling us anything.
30 mins total, no one spoke to us, we ended up leaving. Extremely disappointing
Also the place was empty, there was at least 5 staff walking around plus the bartender

Spent quality time with coworkers. Loved their top tier service and food.
I would recommend to get their Lime Margarita

The outdoor patio is huge with lots of seating! Our meals were very tasty and came hot. Our server was friendly but wish she would have checked in on us more (it was not that busy).

Wings were not freshly cooked, they are already hard when we got them.

Our server was great though.

10/10 coming here. All the workers are amazing especially the blonde hostess. The food was awesome. My server Lauren was out of this world and deserves a raise! I would come here everyday if I could!

This place is huge lots of space and room for lots of people to attend. Staff are so friendly to you makes the experience wonderful. Enjoyed my time there last night will definitely be coming here again and there alcohol bulldogs are the best so freaking good.

Stopped by twice in the last few weeks and sat at the bar. Waited about 20 mins and ended up walking out due to lack of service. Disappointing as this used be a fun hang out for us.

Boyfriend and i stopped for a quick bite. Nachos wings pop and a virgin cesar. $62 for terrible nachos. Wings are not fresh at all. And the pop was even flat. We have tried several times here. The place is just mis managed. Server was very friendly. Bartender definitely slowest i have seen in a long time.

I'll start positive by saying the food is always pretty good. Service is usually slow from what I have seen. Tables are sticky for some reason. Over decent but not worth it for the price.

Excellent service. All the waitresses were very friendly and welcoming. They constantly check up on you, accommodating to your every need. The food is phenomenal, they updated their menu and it’s amazing. The seating arrangement is great, even if there’s a ton of people, the seats are quite secluded which allows you to enjoy your dinner/lunch.

Food was good and fresh when served, the structure and layout of restaurant itself is not bad. The tables were a little sticky. Pretty good service, although one of the servers handed us the wrong flavour of wings and walked away immediately before we could say anything. The waffle fry nachos are also a pretty small size for its price but still good.
