You should sell the real seafood boils like they do in the states. You all need to check out tik tok seafood boils! We are missing this in Winnipeg big time! Nothing compares close to the American seafood boils.

Dined there two weeks ago on Saturday evening. The service was the absolute worst service we’ve ever received! And there were only 3 other tables eating so they were not busy … it took 20 minutes (maybe even more) to get a drink order or a waitress come over. Another 15 minutes after that to get one of the drinks (she forgot the other) another 15 or so minutes after that to order food (we had to get her attention and ask her if we could finally order) neither waitress kNew how to explain the menu or ordering process. They didn’t know how to separate the bills and there was no manager on site. The food tastes good, I really enjoyed the clams and the seafood rice but not enough to come back. The menu options are small and plates are over priced. Clam and shrimp portions were small. Not really any menu options for a member of your party that doesn’t east seafood. Atmosphere is also not good. A complete let down as I was excited to finally try this place.

We can't say enough good things about this restaurant. My kids and I come here often for birthdays. The food is second to none, delicious, hot and fresh. The service is superb, always friendly, fast and welcoming. Thank you, we enjoy being your customers!

Not the same quality anymore. Monday hours are til 10 pm we arrived at 9: 10 but they are close already. We even called them.bad customer service.

Please kindly close your restaurant if you’re not gonna take your business seriously. You guys have the worst customer service.

I used to order delivery from here but notice all their good sauces disappeared and the seafood rice is gone as well, figured it was just online but nope same thing at the restaurant.

Went there on Saturday. Disappointed, no cajun sauce on mussels, shrimp and crabs, fried rice and chicken wings very good. No cajun sauce, never go back. Sorry.

Rude service & no manners with their customers or employees. I feel bad for anyone that has to work under Ferdinand

The venue doesn’t level with captains boil, looks like cheap restaurant. They don’t consider people with disabilty with their high stairs.

Service was super fast the asian guy who served us was super helpful and super nice definitely would come back!

Employees misinformed us. We called in an hour and a half prior to closing asking if they were still taking orders and if it was possible to dine in, the employee on the phone stated, that we were good to go as long as we arrive 30 minutes before closing. This was not an issue since we were only 8 minutes out. As we arrived at this location the doors were locked while the “open” neon sign was still on. To make matters worst the employee came up to shut off the neon sign in front of us. Keep in mind it was still an hour before closing.

Captains Boil usually has great service and food. But this experience made me furious on how my time was wasted, due to misinformation by both the website time and the employee.

Very much a novelty restaurant, which is not a bad thing at all. Would recommend if ordering a 1lbs bag, for example for a couple 3 of them between the two. Would try again with Cajun spice as mild did not have much kick.

I've been a to their old location a couple of times and had a bad experience. I decided to gave it another try last week and what a mistake. The prices are absurd and the menu forces you to get "combos" without being able to add any additional meats. I was expecting you to be able to order some sides and get multiple pounds of seafood but they force you to get 2 side dishes with it (rice, corn, potatoes.) So having to want 4 different types of seafood, I am forced to have 8 sides that we won't eat. $70 Dungeness Crab, $80 Lobster lol get bent. Other restaurants doesn't even charge that lol. On top of that no drink menu to see what they actually have. After moving to the new location this place has gone downhill further. The seating is also too close together. Stay away, spend your hard earned dollars elsewhere.

The shrimp is delicious. But very cheap with white rice they charge you for extra. It is only served with 1/4 cup of rice. I feel rice shouldn’t be so limited considering what you pay.

As well as with the corn on the cob. I’m sure people could eat a full one or even half. They serve a quarter of a whole cob.

One of the best seafood restaurants in town! Also love their seafood fried rice! A little bit spicy but so yummy! Just the fried rice is enough The whole family including the kiddos love this place. We always go here when we are craving for seafoods. Very friendly staff and nice ambience and really good food! I just hope they add more variety of side dishes.

Stay AWAY from this restaurant as much as possible or it would end in real tears. The shrimp tasted like mould and the portion size was so small…. They also didn’t give me a complete order so I had to drive back, the customer service was so bad and the Manager needs some training with engaging with customers as this would kill the business. I would suggest they close up as it’s not the same quality or service as the Pembina location. It was a horrible experience and I won’t wish it on anyone.

Terrible experience there, food was late, came missing items. Our kid’s food took almost 45mins to only go to the wrong table and it was brought to our table after the plate was touched and handled by many others.
And just to top it up, the rude manager came to our table pointing to us and the kids “too loud, too loud” we let it slide but after all at the check out they had all the orders mixed out, double charged us on 3 items.
The manager is rude, kept shouting at us when we asked to express our opinion about the service that we were charged extra 12% for.

They changed their menu, took away the fried rice to replace it with garlic bread? Like what a terrible combination. Not only that but they used to have options for the shrimp flavouring, and now the only choice is garlic? Quite a shame they reduced their portion sizes and food/flavour choices

The portions were amazing, the food came quickly, it was hot and delicious. The prices were very reasonable! Will definitely return

My second experience wasn't as good as the first. My crab legs tasted really fishy. When you charge 60 for a lb of crab legs it's gotta be better then that.

Not worth it, the fish and chips looked like frozen fish sticks you get from the grocery store, small amount of tartar sauce! Portion size too small for the overall cost

I’ve been to four different locations in the GTA and have a certain expectation every time I go to Captains Boil. Came here with my family for a reunion and was pretty disappointed with the way the food was prepared here compared to all the other locations. The staff was ok service wise. This location was very different compared to the 4/5 star reviews me and my family are accustomed to:

Taste was amazing and pretty decent quantity. I found it pretty pricey. Paid $8 for 3 small pieces of garlic toast but other than that. It was a good experience.

Food was very good but expensive. Spent $100 for 2 and left hungry. Food is served in plastic bags and you basically eat with your hands.which is okay but the amount of garbage (plastic bags, bibs and paper napkins) left at the end of the meal at each table Is pretty bad.

Absolutely the worst fish n chips around Winnipeg. The fish tasted like it was from the frozen food section of the supermarket. The fries tasted like they were frozen.most likely cavendish.

I prefer going here on a Sunday because they have a Sunday special where you can order 1lbs of shrimps/muscles/clams for only $12. This gives you some options to splurge on the side dishes. I usually order lotus roots or okra and corn. It wont empty my wallet coz I end up with under $25 (including taxes and decent 15-20% tip).
The sauce I recommend is the captain boils sauce. It is a mixture of all the sauces they have on offer. Fair warning for the faint hearted, go for mild or no spices at all if you cannot take in spicy food. If captain boil sells this sauce, I would even buy them. The sauce is their signature dish that makes the seafood taste so good.
I would have given. 5 star if they had put their special offers in their website. I only stumbled on this because I came on a Sunday. Before this, I barely go coz of the regular price. And another reason is that their plastic gloves is only one size.
Service is quick and they are quite courteous.

Husband wrote a review of our negative experience at the Pembina location; similar to the many other negative reviews here. Made a reservation for Mother’s Day only to be told that reservations do not guarantee a time, just that we would be priority over walk in’s, plus all the unprofessional service, long wait for food, and the list goes on. They responded and asked that further details be provided, which I did. Received a response that they would investigate and get back to us. A week later, didn’t hear from them so I wrote a follow up email and received a response. They asked if I kept a copy of my receipt, I said no but from my recollection our bill was approximately $300. Got a response saying they would give me a $40 voucher and hope that we would visit again to give another opportunity. I responded and said at the very least 50% should be reimbursed, they said no, it will be $40. I told them we won’t have any use for it and they can keep it. I’ve gone there multiple times (6) over the course of 2.5 months and the service has progressively gone downhill. Like others, I don’t typically write reviews but I kept going back thinking they were just having a bad day, and finally my husband wrote a review and thought we should see it through the resolution

Good food, mediocre service. Our server was elsewhere so we kept having to bug other servers for stuff. By the end of my meals i always find it all tastes the same. Our server packed our left overs and she left out a half a bag of shrimp.

Service was poor. Food was less than average. Our server was more interested in talking with her co-workers than serving us. Our food was delivered to us in plastic bags plunked down on the table with no plates or cutlery. When we wanted something we had to go and get it ourselves.

Not my idea of dining out. No plates and food served in plastic bags that are plopped on the tables. Bibs and plastic gloves are the norm for eating at this low class restaurant

Honestly I never write bad reviews, but this was probably one of the worst dining experience I’ve had. To start off, the menu is limited and the food was super bland and not worth $30-$50. We came here for our moms birthday and ended up deciding that we should reschedule it for a different day and a different restaurant because of our experience. Food is served in bags, which was a bit unexpected as well. Secondly, our server Krystal left without telling us and we spent 15 minutes sitting there looking for her to pay. We ended up having to get up to get the attention of another server who seemed to not be unaware she had left either. On top of all of this, most of the staff sit at the back table for almost the entire time we were there on their phones and talking to each other. Would definitely not recommend and will not be back.

We had the worst food here ever, after looking at the very expensive menu we decided to order the fish and chips. The fish was pre packaged frozen. It tasted freezer burnt, mushy, and greasy. NOT what you expect when ordering fish from a seafood restaurant.

My fish came with cajun fries, they were so spicy i could only eat a few before i gave up. And I'm someone who likes spicy foods, but there fries were so spicy that they were not enjoyable.

I'm really glad we didn't order anything more expensive on the menu, as if you can't get fish and chips right i can't imagine what the lobster would of tasted like. We will never return to this restaurant.

Do your self a favor and go somewhere else for supper.

Food is great. Limited menu. Concept of eating with your hands is novel, but I suspect that's why it's not busy. Great decor. Friendly staff. Will definitely go back but not often due to the lack of warm atmosphere. A must try.

Eating here was delicous but. We spend more money that we should. We were excited to eat and very hungry that we didn't order sides so the plate by itself do not feel our tummies and is a bit of disapoitment of how is not enough? But is that you need the sides to complement the plates. We were 4 adults and 4 kids. Our kids loved the food they usualy do not like the flavors of seafood but it worked this time. Capitan boil's sauce was what we asked with spice and without. Was awesome. The fired cajun rice was a killer as a side dish and one plate was enough to share with 4 adults. The clams was a bit of a dissapoitment not becuase the flavor but the size, we were accostum to eat them more bigger so its like an apetaizer. We ate corn in the end nothing special but convined with sauce was delicious. The fried shrimp was super good, the snow crabs legs was a different expirance with the sauce and the mussles were enough and big! I didn' tested the calamari but my daugther said was delicous. The sweet potatoes and french fries that came with shrimp and side dish was very crispy and they loved the flavour. We expend more money and felt less full that when we go to red lobster but I think the trick was becuase of the side dishes.
The rice we ordered a little bit after our first order and my husband had to ask the girl to bring it three times because she keep forgeting and perhaps this made all the difference of how we eat more of the main plates.
I did not enjoyed to eat with plastic gloves in my hands they were to big and the plastic keep coming into my mouth. The sauce had lots of delicous flavored butter so its handy and less messy in the bag they served and easy to clean but still we asked for plates.
I will definetly come back more prepared as I know how the dishes are and how to order. You will not be dissapointed on flavors that' s for sure.

Not a very busy restaurant after the initial grand opening hype. I went with my boyfriend and there were maybe 3 other tables. Our server was good at first but then didn't bring out 3 side orders but left them on the bill, anything we asked for after the food came out came slow or not at all. Would only go back because of the seafood selection is limited in Winnipeg but would not go back for the service at all

Seafood wasnt all that fresh but as expected.there is no fresh seafood in Winnipeg.

Flavour taste all like cajun.flavour was too much that you cannot taste anything else about your food.

Was our first time there so we werent sure if server mixed up the flavours or was it the kitchen staff or the restaurant just loves the taste of cajun.

Overall, if youre looking for good seafood.dont go there.also.servers werent friendly as well.
