They have lots of bread sandwiches but there soup options are boring they need to offer 2 soups not one and offer a variety

They slice the bread too thin.
I know it’s not a german thing but cinnamon buns from the only baker In the area would be nice.
The bread, jams and baked goods are very good. I do enjoy their Christmas Jam.
The hours are too limited.

Best bread in the city! The sandwiches are delicious, they have a large selection of dessert pastries, and the prices are reasonable. Coffee could be better.

I‘ve been a customer of this place for many years.
I often talk with friends about their high quality of products that reminds us of the European bakeries back home.
Today amongst other cakes and bread i bought a bee sting cake and when I looked at the tray I had the feeling that the two pieces in the corner weren’t part of the rest and not as fresh as the others.
I kindly asked if the server could grab a different one and she assured me they were all the same.
When I got home I realized it wasn’t. The top was very dry and tasteless and I’m very disappointed not only with the server that wasn’t honest with me but also with myself for not trusting my guts. Also, it’s not the first time this situation happened.
One cannot charge the same price for something that isn’t fresh and lye to the customers.
I hope you take this review into consideration.

I really like the bun but i can no longer get it anymore since the shop change opening hour. Can you reconsider and change your opening hour to the 8am again

My son and I love this place. Especially the crusty buns and soups. Like the selection of breads and desserts, staff is always friendly and patient.

It's been quite a long time since I last went to The Crusty Bun. Had soup and cheese bun. Both delicious. Upgrade your crusty bun for 50 cents.worth it.

Love the fresh bakery, sandwiches & desserts. Bit pricey but worth the taste. Min business hours, would love to see extended hours as most trips into Winnipeg it's closed.

Best Pastries ever. A little costly but so worth it. If I become a millionaire I will buy one of the branches so I can eat their bread and pastries everyday.lol

Authentic German baking. Their Bienenstich is creamy and not too sweet, and their Flambe bread with Nutella is my breakfast most days.

Always good, fresh and delicious! A bit pricey but it’s fresh made goodies, you pay for quality. Love sandwiches there.

It's my childhood bakery. I've been coming here since I was a child. The bread and pastries are always baked fresh and the service is always fast and attentive. I especially recommend the classic crusty buns, the pig ears and the crazy sticks.

Greatest buns in the whole city. We buy them fresh for our German family when they want to be reminded of home.

Oh my gosh, I love this place. I've been to Germany a few times and this is the closest you can get to a German bakery experience. Try the pretzel bun sandwich!

The Apple Cinnamon Fritter was dry & hard, with not even the slightest hint of cinnamon. When I brought it to their attention, thinking that I would choose something else, I was told that they are supposed to be "crisp". Don't bother ordering this particular item.

Seriously the best bakery in winnipeg. Everything I've tried is amazing and I've tried a wide selection of their bread, buns, sandwiches and deserts.

I am a regular at the Crusty Bun and regularly purchase their Raisin Buns. They are expensive but worth it to me as they are always fresh and taste great. Today I got a 6 piece bag of Raisin buns and discovered when I arrived home that they were day old buns. Needless to say I was less than impressed as I paid full price for them as I normally would.lesson learned. Will now ask instead of assuming (which I shouldn't have to do) before buying.

We come from out of town to pick up treats for special occasions. The staff is very friendly and patient, and you can tell that the team takes pride in quality service and food.

Great bakery and restaurant. Always busy, come early or somethings may be sold out. We love the pretzel buns and the baguettes.

Yeah, I went in there before Christmas. They have some nice breads. It looks like they make sandwiches.

Today was my first visit here - I came here for lunch with two colleagues and we had a great experience! Excellent professional service, they had vegetarian options as well as meat, soup if you don’t eat bread, and delicious pastries. There’s not a huge selection but if you’re looking for simple, fresh ingredients and excellent quality bread, it’s the place for you! I didn’t have the coffee here but maybe next time will try it. But I bought some pastries to take home and they were a hit - super fresh, European-style, flavourful. Also, the place was bustling-busy and I bumped into two other people I knew!

Nice place. No outlets nor wifi, but lots of seating, awesome breads and sandwiches. Hidden gem in St. Vital.

When it's on my way, I just never miss a stop there. Very good variety of baked goods, fine ingredients and baked to perfection. It's mostly busy and there is a lineup but moves fast and it's definitely worth the wait. Stuff is friendly and polite.

This food was uplifting! Homemade soup in a bowl the size of a dinner plate! The buns are fresh and desserts are fabulous!

This place never disappoints, great soup, sandwiches and awesome sweets one of my favourite spots for a casual meal.

Very good but a tad bit expensive. However, prepped fresh in front of you, good old fashioned homemade soup and, once you tasted the bun, the price of the sandwich was forgiven. Wonderful tasting bun.

Five stars means outstanding, unique amid Winnipeg bakeries and I've been there many times.

Delicious, simple, and absolutely fresh, of course. Have the German breakfast plate anytime and count on the pumpkin seed loaf.

Often a lineup so time your visits. Saturday AM = crazy.

When they first opened products were good sizes for the money. Now items are smaller and they charge more. Very disappointing. Had no problem spending 100 bucks every time I went there. Today was last day won't go back again. I don't have problem paying a little more if size of products had stayed the same. Maybe they will get the hint when people stop going there.

If you like crusty fresh buns as sandwiches or aside or even fresh sesame bread Keizer (round for burgers) or for hot dogs or you may to buy whole grain bread or a delicious soup, you may go to the Crusty bun lovely ambience. Fresh air a full freshness to choose from. Thank you for being there.

Can totally understand the high prices for fresh baked pastries and breads, but they are a little steep. Staff acted a little bit too stand-off-ish for my liking.

Nice campground, large lots, friendly staff. Close to the city and trans Canada. Only negative thing I would say is murdock road exits at both ends on uncontrolled exit onto 100km highways - one end is trans Canada other primitor highway.

Apple Cranberry bread is a must.they need to make more when Bread of the Day. Terrific desserts, excellent home made soups, and unbelievably clean. Coffee and Tea need some work, but still a 5 star joint. Have been visiting for years and have never been dissapointed. Pretzel bun sandwiches are also a treat!
