Best place to have fun during winter evenings. They have free WiFi, free tennis table and lots of different merchants with food and drinks for all tastes. Beside that they have skate rental for just 7cad with pretty nice ice trail route.
Definitely one of must see places in Winnipeg!
28 January 2024 13:59
The Forks Market has so much to offer from great food to speciality shops or just people watching outside under the pavilion. 5 stars for a cheap outing.
09 October 2023 2:28
Still a bit more vacancy then anyone would like, but they have done an incredible job developing this place and grouping the food and shopping into specific areas. Any we can still get mini-donuts.
03 October 2023 3:26
It's such a great concept; everyone chooses where they want to order food from, you can sit outside or in, there's wine and local beers on tap. Delightful!
02 October 2023 14:31
Place can get busy but there's a lot of boutiques and restaurants offering delicious food options from ribs to tacos.
18 September 2023 9:00
Cool place to grab food with friends. There is also an outdoor area where you can eat and they sell alcohol there too. They ha e done a really good job of making it look very welcoming and nice
15 August 2023 12:23
Great local small shops, the food esp Nuburger and the pizza place Red Ember, you want something close to Italy thats the place. Beautiful location.
19 October 2022 1:02
Love this staple of Winnipeg. Right on the water. An awesome selection of beers with tons of seating. Nice well kept facility with great selection of food vendors.

I had chicken Parm sandwich and it was the best chicken parm sandwich I’ve ever had. Simon’a steaks killed it and also has the most amazing French fries.
09 October 2022 15:49
The forks is a great place to go for a bite to eat or a cold drink icecream or to just walk around with friends and family lots to see and do there are ducks and geese you can feed at the boat tour you can buy crack corn for a dollar you can take the boat tour $12.50 for adults 10 for kids under 3 free for a half hour historical tour
03 October 2022 10:23
Love the forks market, lots of shopping variety and great choices for eating! Loved the wine flight to try a few options instead of choosing just one and the Philly steak sandwich from Simon's Steaks is amazing! Lots of options for everyone including gluten free
27 September 2022 11:57
It's always great to visit the Forks when visiting Winnipeg. The area is well kept (no litter), with lots of seating areas around the river and outside.

With lots of boutique like stores to visit, you will walk away with a little treasure. On top of that, the food is excellent! I would recommend to come hungry if you can and snag yourself some treats!

Very close to other attractions downtown, all within walking distance (Human Rights Museum, Bridge, Winnipeg Sign, Meeting spot, etc).
05 September 2022 10:23
I love the atmosphere, I really enjoy The Forks when we go to Winnipeg. Fun stores and lots of selection for food! I give it 4 stars because I didn't see any shops that made me think back and want to go shop in them again, and because my son and I both did not enjoy our meals (not that it was poor quality)
25 August 2022 16:50
So I was at The Common after photographing this really weird squirrel, and I was drinking a lightly blueberry flavored German ale which was super delicious, and I discovered there was a rather lovely looking bearded man person across the room.
If you're into meeting people you wouldn't usually bump into, and you're okay with bumping into people you normally wouldn't talk to, I def recommend it!
04 June 2022 20:24
A great family place to visit, so much better since they upgraded the food court. It does need a high quality restaurant along the river.
04 June 2022 1:06
So much improved in a few years and so many people enjoying the place and foods. So much cozy feeling around. Even a sauna place added recently.
01 June 2022 10:48
One of my favourite places for lunch or to take the grandkids. A perfect place to take out of town friends or family.
24 May 2022 16:44
Didn't come here on purpose. Came simply to walk around The Forks. Happily, this is more food court than market and the food vendors were all interesting, and none to me this American with his US mall food court memories.
22 May 2022 15:19
Best of both seasons a great place for family and friends boat tours in summertime path way that's beside the Red River it's where the English fur trappers did there selling to the First Nations people and the start of the Hudson's Bay company the forks has plenty of history here where the red met the Assiniboine that's why it's called the forks fun for all people and historians as well people who just want to know! Winter time is great ice rinks a very long ice path that you can walk or skate shop of the forks show alot of heritage inside lots of great food and history as well inside I recommend it to everyone must say it has beena long time since I have been here have forgotten how gentle the atmosphere is here people laughing and enjoying each other's company. You can feel the kindness as you walk past people you would never forget this place if you were to spend a day here and enjoy all the ethnic backgrounds here the smell of the food once you walk in here is absolutely fantastic and recommend it to everyone
13 May 2022 19:06
Good meeting point and place to hangout with your friends or partner. Place is clean and plenty of parking spots.
24 April 2022 23:15
I love the old historic side of the Forks Market. From the exposed brick walls and narrow alleys to the small shops lining the place, it's a place I keep coming back to. It's a busy place on a weekend evening, but that is to be expected. I wandered around the food court for quite some time, checkingbout the various vendors before deciding to go Sri Lankan - but by then they had closed. Then I went for round two and wound up at the Fusian Experience: a place that serve q variety of Asian food including an assortment of sushi and other seafood. I settled for the Hawaian rice bowl. It was an entirely new experience for me. There were flavours and foods there that I had never tasted before. I sat down to enjoy the meal amidst a very noise crowd. When finished, I wandered upstairs to check out the shops and displays there. Unfortunately they were all closed already. I guess that calls for another visit.
Next my way led me out of doors, across the plaza to the Johnson terminal, which I briefly toured, and then out another door along walking paths to the walking trails criss-crossing the grounds surrounding. Due to the warm weather we've had the last several days, a lot of the trails were slushy or even had several inches of water on them. I made my way around the puddles as best I could, sometimes using the skating trail and other times walking on the snow beside. I walked over to the Provencher Bridge, stopped to admire the lofty heights of the structure, and turned back to get a glimpse of the Human Rights Museum thru the spires of the bridge pointing skyward. Finally, I directed my steps back to the Forks Market via the Human Rights Museum grounds. It was a worthy experience, one I hope to return to in the summer time when the lawns and trees and shrubs grown green and the weather is warm.
06 April 2022 2:14
A lovely little Winnipeg staple and historic meeting place of the First Nations people. This historic Winnipeg landmark has restaurants, shops, and fun things to do scattered throughout its premises. Winter time at the Forks is a trove of activities to do including skating, playing hockey, going for a walk along the trail, or getting hot chocolate. Skates are also available to rent during the winter season
30 March 2022 15:41
A amazing Saturday spent skating at the forks! The warming huts are always fun and the trail was groomed nicely. Since covid you now have to lace your skates outside.
21 March 2022 13:31
This place USED to be cool, now they're monetizing every aspect of it, wouldn't surprise me if they started charging for every breath taken on premesis.parking used to be free, not anymore.used to have free shoe storage for skates, sold that to some beer place so now people have to leave their shoes in the snow or bring a bulky bag.some things dont need to be monetized, it's okay to have costs that you have to eat.stop adding stupid extra expenses that we have to pay so we can collectively cover your fireworks shows and new additions (which is all optional, by the way)
18 March 2022 11:54
Sad to see a lot of the old places go, however with the new improvements it's a very nice place to hang out at
14 March 2022 12:21
Over rated.some neat cafeteria style places to grab food and pretty neat beer garden but the bartender was a bit of a douche.hence the rating

Family friendly for sure with an outdoor skating rink and skate rental place located inside
10 March 2022 10:00
Many unique shops housed in an old railroad complex. Walking and skating trails, restaurants, arcade, a skate park, and more.

01 February 2022 18:47
The Forks Market is a Winnipeg / Manitoba well known attraction! The shops are great, the food options are excellent and the vibe is stellar.

So why, why? , are the bathroom facilities sub-par and unclean?
26 January 2022 16:05
Finally made my way here. Great place to go with friends or a date. Lots to see and do. Great little shops, great places to eat and get a drink. Great scenic path to walk along beside the rivers. Just lots to do in one place.
09 January 2022 13:18
Such a wide variety of culinary delights I didn't know were there before. Had pizza, steak, fries, ice ceam in one location. It has alot to offer including the shops on the second floor. Craft beer also sold there.
28 December 2021 6:47
Grand choix de nourriture, d'alcool et de desserts. Tables dans différentes zone pour intimité. Boutiques charmantes. Accès au bord de la rivière et au sentier. L'hôtel est à côté quoi demander de plus!
28 December 2021 5:45
One of my favorite attractions of Winnipeg, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights is located really close to the Forks and is within walking distance and there is a great view of the Assiniboine River.
Salsa sundays from July till September and once the river freezes u can bring your skate shoes or rent a pair for $10 and experience this chilly yet absolutely fun sport.
16 December 2021 23:10
Perfect place to hangout with friends and family during weekends. Stroll around the Forks to build up an appetite and then gorge on delicious food with a variety of options to choose from. The outside area is decked up with fairy lights all year round.
16 December 2021 16:18
Not only is the forks a beautiful location its home to so much history. With different plaques around the park you can get a whole history lesson. The forks is also home to many many different types of restaurants as well as many local shopping destinations. The forks is definitely a place to visit any time of the year. (Winter included with the longest skating trail)
14 December 2021 17:34
They have the best baked goods! Such friendly staff! Wholesome goodness! #theforks #tallgrassprairiebakery #winnipeg
04 December 2021 8:16
Really neat space, great shops and restaurants. A really neat public space well worth checking out. The lookout has great views of the river and downs town area. Take advantage of the trails that pass quite the assortment of art installations.
28 November 2021 11:19
Awesome place to eat, drink and work. We Great vibes in the evening. Our favourite spot was probably the Mexican place for quick tacos and quesadillas.
23 November 2021 3:38
Oh I love it here! Can pick a place to study, or grab some food to eat or go for a walk! Can't wait till the winter stuff is up ans can go skating. I hope they get rhe krocurl going again this year always a highlight to my winter trips and summer walks.
21 November 2021 23:03
Such a beautiful place. Being my first time in Winnipeg to visit family recently it’s one of Winnipeg’s gems. Loved this place! We visited Jenna Raes Cakes for some yummy macarons and a bakery that was inside with fresh Cinnamon buns! (WAY better than Cinnabon) & also walked into a lovely crystal shop on the upper level. It was lovely!
07 November 2021 1:58
I feel the forks market used to be just that.a market. I miss the variety of shops and kiosks that used to be present. The updates look good. But I feel the forks has just become a food court where you have to pay to park.
19 October 2021 8:49
Lots of variety. Food vendors are amazing. We ate at Danny's and the food was excellent! It is fun to walk around. The elevators to the top are also great! You can see the whole city from up there it seems, well at least the Fort Garry Hotel and the Human Rights museum.
27 September 2021 15:22
I love how The Forks has evolved over the years. I have been, maybe 3 times in the last 5 years. I am very impressed at both the diversity and generational difference that has taken place. The focus on more restaurants and community attractions has caught the interest of the millennial generation and younger. Go to the Forks Friday & Saturday nights, it's packed with people, great vibes and good energy. Overall great experience for all walks of life.
25 September 2021 12:48
Paid parking wants you to download an app that they can’t even provide a QR code for, is impossible to search for and the machines will NOT take cash or card. We fumbled around looking and trying to download and finally gave up and left. Serious lack of thought people! NOT Tourist friendly.
12 July 2021 3:46
One of the lovelier outdoor spaces in Winnipeg. Plenty of space to walk, bike, and so on. Lots to see. The indoor attractions are quite nice too, plenty of nice little shops. Gotta love the tower deck, great view. So much character all around, love it.
02 July 2021 7:16
Classic! You often go there for breakfast. So much to see. Long walks around the forks. Pontoon boat rides. It lost one star because they blocked off many exits due to covid. Try to get that approved by the fire department any other time. Photos are watermarked.
15 June 2021 5:51
Cant shop there because they don't honour medical condition to be maskless. The Forks also does not honour my disability which requires me to not wear a mask. Both of which are infringements on my rights. Thanks for reading.
07 June 2021 4:46
Clean and well maintained. The outdoor seating is very welcome as people still need to enjoy the outdoors where there is relative safety during these strange times.
03 June 2021 4:01
Good place to take a walk. Across the river or to the market. In the heart of downtown and very convenient. Parking lot is huge.
27 May 2021 14:32
A great place to stroll through, meet up with friends, or spend some time with family. Something for everyone.
27 May 2021 8:15
I always love going to the Forks. There is something for everyone. With covid, it's easy to social distance, have take out from the markets and restaurants. Not too crowded not at any time uncomfortable. A very pleasant day.
19 May 2021 17:43
Love the forks! Always a beautiful place to go to, make sure you have a credit card or else the parking machines won't work for you. No cash or debit!
16 May 2021 7:49
Many restaurants and thrift stores around and inside the forks. Good walking trails that run alongside thrme dirty river. A large skate park is on the premises for all the young punks to show of there tricks. The commons is a decent little place to get your eyes glazed over, and the watch tower is a good spot to get your blaze on, sshhhh.
08 March 2021 0:10
Like going to this place, it very nice in winter, kids can slide, there are two decent size slides, place also has a small market. One of the shops there sell Mini dog nuts which are very tasty. There is also an ice skating ring. Parking is not big but you still find a spot to park. There is also a small kids outdoor play area
03 April 2020 2:30
Amazing place! Super cool vibe and soooo much to do! It's often hard to find an interesting place to enjoy the outdoors and this is definitely the place! Indoors you have food choices for any appetite, craft beer and wine to your hearts desire. Outdoors there's skating, music, tobogganing and trails to enjoy the scenery. From a tourist, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the ice sculptures along with the vibe! Super awesome place to check out!
26 March 2020 21:27
Skating at the Forks was absolutely fantastic. Can't wait to go again with my wife as well as 4 and 6 year olds. Make sure to bring a puck and sticks!
26 March 2020 18:45
Let’s be honest, it’s pretty much the only tourist destination we have in Winnipeg. Like I always say, “I was born here, what’s your excuse? ”
17 March 2020 9:52
Love the forks.
Very nice place to just hang around and spend the evening.
Great atmosphere to just enjoy a coffee or go for a stroll
15 March 2020 23:24
Nice experience, lots of fun for family and friends. Skate, slide and enjoy the evening new year lights.
27 February 2020 18:13
Old Railroad Yard. But still Great meeting place, from the past to the present. Come to the Forks and enjoy.
17 February 2020 16:13
The upgrades they made to this place was great! Would like to see more things to do there but overall on the right track for sure. Still a favorite place to go when I visit
20 December 2019 17:32
A great place for tourists. There are a lot of gift shops with winnipeg/canada gifts. It's also a fun place to take the family. Lots to see and lots of little shops and restaurants.
07 December 2019 2:06
There's always something going on at the forks and it's a great place to meet up with friends or just even go alone
24 November 2019 15:08
Horable. Parking is bad. People were rude. Childens museum is over priced. And everything is broken.
12 October 2019 10:45
Urban fishing for those who doesn't want to drive 40mins away from the city.this a quick catch and release spots from the legislative building area all the way to the forks
07 October 2019 21:59
Great scenic views with lots of spots to just sit and enjoy the space. I walk the short trails and stop at the common for a great brew. Love going to the forks
26 September 2019 16:43
The family and I had a great time. We searched for painted rocks, and hid our own. We captured pokemon, and browsed the many shops. The explored all the walk ways, and stopped for lunch.

That is only a fraction of what we did today, and we left with a list of things to do next time we come.

The Forks is a great place to be on any day of the week, and bringing money is optional. While we did stop st skinners for lunch, we have brought our own food in the past. It's a lovely place for a picnic.

Great family location.
20 September 2019 12:46
It is unfortunate that they now charge for parking. We probably won't be going back as often as we used to as so many other malls and parks in the city offer free parking.
14 September 2019 11:54
06 September 2019 12:00
The Forks has been recently improved so much that it became a great place to hang around. Definitely a place to visit in Winnipeg.
03 September 2019 16:42
Very nice area for a morning walk and a evening out. The only problem is that there are some unsavoury elements hanging around. Thus avoid going alone in the morning. Saw a very nice statue of Mahatma Gandhi
05 August 2019 9:21
Excellent place to explore. Has a wonderful shopping area with a great place to get good wine. Also has a place that sells the best fish and chips that you will have. The local beer brewery that has a shop inside offers some great taster sleeves. The outdoor plaza is amazing and again has a nice area to enjoy a beer and a bite of food. Do the boat tour if you have the time. It is both inexpensive and informative. Plus check out the museum of human rights while you are there. Humbling to say the least and truly a beautiful structure.
29 July 2019 0:03
I enjoy the river walks in summer evenings and skating rink and trails in winter and can't forget the mini donuts and indoor shopping
15 July 2019 2:16
Everytime we visit the forks we enjoy it. It's just quite simply a "cant miss" if you're looking for some nice relaxing outdoor time.
02 January 2019 8:29
The Forks is one of the top tourist destinations in Winnipeg and as a local Manitoban, it's one of my favourite places to visit in the city. It is the place where the two rivers (Red and Assiniboine) meet. This area features shopping, eating, scenery, history and culture all in one place.

There are plenty of things to do at The Forks and there is always something going on.

In the summer, I love walking along the peaceful river trail up to the Legislative Building. The scenery is lovely and there are some good photo opportunities. I also enjoy crossing the pretty Esplanade Riel pedestrian bridge over to the pretty French neighbourhood of St. Boniface. They also have Salsa Sundays under the canopy in the summer, which is fun to watch or participate in.

Also in the summer, they offer regular boat tours on the river with guides.

The Forks Market and Johnston Terminal are great places to go shopping and eating. There are plenty of cute local shops and boutiques in both buildings. The Forks Trading Post is one of my favourite shops, featuring a wide variety of locally made products (clothing, jewelry, pottery, makeup, skin care, candles, and more). In the Johnston Terminal, I love Kite and Kaboodle and their great selection of board and card games and interesting books and unique gifts and children's toys. I also love the antique store in the basement of Johnston Terminal and it is so fun to browse through the many items they have there.

There are lots of great eateries in the Forks Market food court with a variety of global and local cuisines to choose from, including gelato/ice cream, Asian food, sushi, burgers, and more. There is one sit-down restaurant in the Johnston Terminal - The Old Spaghetti Factory - and the Pancake House in The Forks Market for delicious breakfasts. The centre aisle of the market has recently been renovated with modern seating and newly designed booths for food eateries. At one end of the aisle is a popular bar called The Common with a good selection of craft beers (including local Manitoba ones) on tap, as well as wines.

In the winter, the frozen river is fashioned into the largest outdoor skating trail in Canada. It is lined with small pine trees on both sides and features a separate walking and skating trail, as well as a hockey rink. There are various "warming huts" along the river trail that are designed by architects from around the world. Some of them actually provide some warmth, while others are simply interesting to look at and take photos of. There is also a small skating rink in the circular area under the canopy, beside the The Forks Market with a colourful disco ball providing light during the evenings.

The only national museum outside of Ottawa is also located at The Forks - The Canadian Museum for Human Rights. This architectural wonder is an amazing place to explore and learn about human rights locally and around the world and marvel at the incredible architecture inside. Make sure to take the elevator to the very top for amazing views of the city.

My suggestions for The Forks, would be to offer more sit-down restaurants for a casual dining atmosphere; have the shops open later in the evenings; and offer some free parking.

The Forks is a bustling and lively place to visit in Winnipeg, with so many things to see and do. It's always a favourite of mine and I will continue to re-visit.
17 December 2018 10:48
Lots of great shops and restaurants, with plenty of things to see and do while there. Parking is no longer free, and it can be a hassle during special events.
17 December 2018 6:23
Winnipeg doesn't have a lot when it comes to huge tourist attractions. However, The Forks makes up for a lot. Any outsider that truly spends a good day at the forks, begins to understand what the city is about. Culture, people, and the variety of the city. It's all at The Forks.
11 December 2018 11:46
If you're coming to Winnipeg, this is the place YOU MUST ABSOLUTELY COME AND SEE, lots of local shops, local food local arts and history in this place you definitely have to check it out. I strongly recommend that you come here because it's just such an amazing environment lots of things going on and also lots of things to see. I personally have been living here for a long time and I can never get enough of this place.it's absolutely amazing. The sense of community is great and you'll feel welcomed by the locals here. So if you're visiting Winnipeg or you live here and haven't been to the forks. You're missing out!
02 December 2018 4:06
They got rid of buskers. Salsa under the canopy is no longer going to happen in the summer. They are also trying to make the forks a cool spot to attract the bar hoppers and clubbers, which will be nice for Tinder dates and potential restaurants, but this place used to feel like it had community values. I don't feel that anymore.
28 November 2018 4:25
Great food options, but make sure explore all the various nooks and crannies of the building, before making your choice.

It can get cramped at times, so be prepared for it.
25 November 2018 13:59
Haven’t seen many forks here. With a name like that you’d think there would be like at least 2 or 3 giant forks sticking out of the ground or something.
Lots of other neat things here though. Lots of cool shops and restaurants. It’s a nice tourist attraction and also cool for the locals.
15 November 2018 17:57
Great tourist attraction with cute shops and yummy food alike. Theres something in every season, but arguably the best is when you can store your stuff here and go skating on the river. Excited to give it a try and fall on my butt! Parking is always a headache, so come with extra time or park across the street, opposite the parkade near the Human Rights Museum, always parking there and its a quick walk.
14 November 2018 9:06
I don't know Winnipeg that much but it is a really cool place. Good variety of restaurants/stands. You will definitely find something you like. Great for kids too. Don't miss the cookie store on the 2nd floor.
10 November 2018 2:38
The Forks Historical Site has a lot to offer. There is a market place, several restaurants, walking paths (e.g, Assiniboine Riverwalk), a Children’s Museum, a “Theatre for Young People”, hotel (i.e, “Inn at the Forks”), skate park, the Canadian Museum of Human Rights, Oodena Celebration Circle, and many other points of interest. The area hosts a variety of things including Canada Day and various other events throughout the year. In the winter, you can rent ice skates to skate on the adjacent river (and on parts of the iced paths nearby).
05 November 2018 11:02
Awesome place.they have opened 'an open' bar right in the front in ground level which is amazing.service is also good.lots of food counters in lower level and as you go up there are local shops.lots of good memories.there is boating on the river during summer and ice skating festivals in winter.
04 November 2018 19:09
Beautiful area. The national park here is amazing. The constellation installation is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. I wish I lived in Winnipeg just so I could be at there at the right times to actually view the constellations through the sights! The walk along the water is wonderful, tons of birds hanging around in the summer. It is a beautiful place and very well maintained.
31 October 2018 15:05
It's the Paid Parking that Stinks really. It was that youd be able to walk or run after your kids and enjoy that sense of no timing with all sorts of many different people around especially the artists.
31 October 2018 5:13
Theres always somthing to do at the Forks, wether its hanging out with friends or taking a date on a scenic walk by the river you can always find somthing to do or somthing to buy.
21 October 2018 20:01

Thanks so much for sharing your experience and a half hours and then you y email me back to work on Monday evening and the other is in early in August 13 the world is ending in the mail for you doing today and how much for a happy new and exciting to be at the airport now.
04 October 2018 2:50
Always enjoy The Forks and it’s gotten a lot better over the years too! Lots of new renovations constantly happening and so many new businesses going in. I also love the EV parking spot, I just wish there was another one.
20 September 2018 15:12
Remarkable place with a lot of history too. A lot to do around the area. Canadian Museum for Human Rights is a short walk away. If you a visiting Winnipeg try to explore the area
