The Metropolitan Entertainment Centre by Canad Inns

Rooftop patio is perfect for lunch in the summer. After a few visits I was not overly impressed with the food but the prices are good. The butternut squash salad surprisingly contains no distinguishable pieces of squash. It was tasty still but would not order again, and for a main salad it is not very big. The bacon Gouda cheeseburger also doesn't contain any actual bacon (?) - you have to order it separately, and is an extra charge. The steak sandwich is quite tasty and the fries are good and portion size generous. Service seems to be always slow which is not good for business lunch crowd but fine for a leisurely lunch or dinner. Servers always super nice.
The Met function/dining room is great for large events, and has a dance floor, stage, and bar. The banquet food was very good.

I don't tend to like something simply because it's old or historic. But the Met has that classy look without feeling overtly old. And it's (mostly) functionally modern.

Went for Mother's Day brunch, which we had done pre-covid and really enjoyed. This time, they seated us at a tiny table in the dark theater. They were short staffed as everyone is these days, so no one cleared plates as you went for seconds. Our first round of coffee was cold but couldn't flag someone down to fix it. Many of the items on the hot buffet were cold, although they were tasty. I don't think we'll be going back.

Was very pleased to see the old Metropolitan Theatre had been converted to a restaurant. Went there for the Mother's Day Brunch. Our seating and table were excellent so this place has real potential. The waiter was pleasant and promptly took our drink order. Once supplied, he never asked again. Was disappointed in the mediocre brunch, especially for the cost. Looked for butter for a roll, then asked, and was told there was none. The breading under the eggs benedict was not cooked very well ie it tasted raw. Wanted to get some shrimp but was offput by the fishy smell coming from the salmon display. The food was ok, just not memorable in any way. After bussing our own table we went for dessert. I am pleased to say all we sampled were excellent.

There are two bars, so don't get stuck in a big line at the front bar. Lovely restoration! A lovely venue.

Went there for one of there movie nights with dinner in December. The food was very good and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. All of my family had a good time. Very convenient parking right beside the building.

Seating is not straight forward. Asking staff for direction no idea how the seating plan worked. Wound up sitting in incorrect seats and only finding out halfway through our meal. Left before show started. Never again! Musical chairs with a meal. You have come to the right place

Awful. Very unprepared for the number wanting coat check. First there was getting to coat check. Complete chaos. Like how no one got hurt is shocking to me. We finally got to give our jackets after an hour of waiting. THEN at the end of the night the SAME THING happens but worse. It’s longer and much more pushing occurs. Again nothing is done to fix the problem. Once we get to the front, they say can’t find our jackets after 2 hours of waiting and being stuck in the crowd. They told us to go and they’ll call us if they find it. I’m angry at the lack of accountability for all parties involved in the planning of this event.

I feel bad for the staff working and more importantly the ones that have to clean up after events like Nightmare on Donald.

Went there for a Hockey Helps The Homeless event. It was accommodating for me with my broken leg.

Disaster of a coat check. @CommerceSocials

Was at commerce social last night spent over an hour in line in coat check just for them to run out of hangers. Management told us to stuff our coats into cubbies and cabinets in the venue.are you kidding me. Then after no options we proceed to do so then security yelled, we cannot. I expected way more from the MET, after last night everyone was disappointed.
My friend who was able to get coat check waited till 4 am to get there coat when the social ended at 2 am!
To point out it was -30 celcius outside.so unprofessional from a high end event center. I would love a refund from commerce social but they're putting coat check blame and the unorganization of the event towards the MET.

Did not plan properly for this event. Would not allow people out for a smoke. They were kicking smokers out refusing to let them back in.

Attended a wedding at The Met and was truly impressed. The venue was beautiful starting from the rooftop for the ceremony to the ballroom for the reception. The dinner was 10/10. The bartenders and wait staff were really amazing.

Very good food and friendly staff. Could probably use some modern sound deadening technology in the lobby as it was very loud with everyone talking
