The Original Pancake House

Wife’s French was so bland and covered with frozen soggy berries so we set it back our waiter should’ve been called Houdini as he took our order and he was never seen again every one at our table had French Toast or Pancakes but yet they only gave us 2 things of butter and I had to get up and walk around to find someone to top up our coffee. Service sucked food sucked we met monthly at different restaurants for family breakfast and have been to the pancake house before but after today we will never be back

Long waiting time to take order and long waiting to get food.

This place used to be good and quick.

Amazing food and prices as usual. I love their pancakes so much. Server didnt even come by the table until we specifically asked for her my flagging another server.

Great place for breakfast. Only place that serves my favourite Giant Apple Pancake. Must be pretty good considering how long it has been around. I have been going for 20+ years.

Great service. Great coffee, dark, rich, bold. Giant apple, a unique treat. Menu variety unreal. Comfort food. Would be a five if not that they recently changed their once wonderful smoked thick cut bacon for their current thinner, bland bacon.

This was my second time visiting this resturant. The first time we found that it was just the service that was poor. The resturant didn't seem so busy, no wait times to be seated, lots of seats open however we noticed it took quite a long time to get our food and even be asked what we wanted. We waited a good 20 minutes before getting asked what we wanted to drink and then another additional 20 minutes to be asked what we wanted to order. Our waiter walked passed us multiple times but never checked up which was kinda frustrating.

Now the reason I give 1 star was cause our second time visiting. I wanted to give the resturant another try because long wait times I can deal with as long as I don't have anywhere to go. I was also taking someone new with us this time who's never been and thought we would try something else on the menu.
If I'm being quite frank, the food here is no different then most breakfast places. There was nothing that stood out to me. The fruits were frozen then thawed (its just my opinion I don't like, but if you don't mind it then disregard), the Belgium waffles weren't that great the cost was average, so nothing that made me wow. The service was the same as my first experience, the server never checked up on us and the most annoying thing was the person walking around with coffee who came to our table 7 times (more then the servers ever had) asking us for coffee refills after we told him 3 times we don't have coffee. However the reason I give 1 star and definitely wouldn't go back is because of the cleanliness.
We spent more time swatting away Flys and fruit Flys then actually eating. They were non stop. It'd either try to get in my food, be chilling on the wall next to me, walking all over the table etc. It was as If I was sitting with a bowl of fruit where 1 is rotten. Then there was general Flys. Wasn't as bad compared, however still questionable.
The cutlery that was provided was all dirty of wet. You can tell from the light above us there w were dead Flys sitting in there. Honestly the experience turned me off. It just wasn't what I expected and nothing special to come back too.

The reviews tend to confuse me with one half agreeing with what I said while the other saying how its an amazing place and great food, great service, so clean. Almost makes me think it's not real because that's really not what happens when you get there.

Good service, but not the quality we expected. It is impossible not to compare it with other eateries, and we agree during our last visit that we'd go somewhere else next time.

Do not accommodate dairy allergies well. Ordered a breakfast sandwich and hashbrowns. Came with a sandwich made with rye bread untoasted since they couldn't do that without butter somehow. Also got fruit instead of hasbrowns but this wasn't communicated to me prior to receiving. We would have gone somewhere else that had a better set up to serve me otherwise.

Pancakes are pretty good. The burger patties seemed a bit over cooked though. Overall pretty good experience

Worst service I have ever received. The server came to our table once in 30 minutes. I mentioned to the manager that we had not received our food, and he said that it had only been 32 minutes and it would be another 4 more minutes. Those 32 minutes didn’t factor in the 30 minutes we waited for them to take our order. When we received our meals, 4 of the 6 meals were cold. They had servers aimlessly walking around not doing anything. Definitely not coming back. There are much better breakfast/brunch options to try.

We always went to the pembina hwy location. Don't even need to look at menu. Giant apple. First time for us this location had a great time. Food and staff Great. Sticking to rules very important to feel safe. Thank you.

I like the BBQ Sandwich the most, every time I go there I will order that. And their banana pancakes are one of the best. They also have good services, very kind and will guide you to customize your meal. I can see they put a lot of effort on the social distance and other prevent procedures. A very nice place for brunch.

Went into pancake house today and despite being so busy my friend and I received great service and my food was cooked impeccably. Didn't even care that we didn't get a booth like we would have preferred everything else made up for that!

Wasnt allowed to eat here as i am not from Manitoba and apparently vaccination from alberta isnt good enough

Service was very friendly and quick. Breakfast was delicious and we are so thankful to be able to go out again to one of our favorite places!

Super Crammed Restraunt, bad service/very disorganized place, after asking the front for a booth and not getting one, asked the same orange haired waitress numerous times to be switched to a booth after being seated at a table crammed right against other tables and she said the same reply over and over " I have to ask the manager " after waiting and waiting and Multiple booths open she doesn't ask and so I ask a different waitress and they say they will find out and again no dice so went to IHOP down the road instead.way better service, quiet and not crammed at all like the tightly packed food court styled pancake House on McGillivray where they have no proper system and waitresses who don't care, and management who don't know how to run the place clearly.

We came in a party of six for lunch. Only one negative - we had to wait an extra 8 minutes for three of six meals to come out. Not too major an issue for us. The meals were great and the service from Dillon was excellent. You have to try the Big Apple and the Blueberry Waffles!

Food was excellent, service was slow. We had to ask twice to finally get a waitress to take our order. Otherwise it was very good!

Great service, love the patio! In the last two times I have been there the food has been hit and miss for me. The country scrambled which I ordered on a whim was AMAZING, but last time I got the crepe combo and it was good, but not great, you know?

Will still be back as the coffee is always amazing and there are still more things to try!

Too much breading on chicken. Friend had to speak up for waitress because she didn't understand how to accommodate hard of hearing individuals

Food: Hats off to the cooks! My medium poached eggs we PERFECT! It's not often restaurants can make perfect medium poached eggs! Turkey bacon was on point as well. The others in my party, were also very satisfied with their breakfast meals.

Based on my first experience here, I feel as though other pancake houses in the city are better serviced and have slightly better food.

I ordered the ambrosia waffle. It’s supposed to have cream cheese on it but there was mayo on it instead. It was likely an accident but still, I wasted my money.

I've been going here for about a year now. Friendly staff, great food (finally a place that can do amazing breakfast potatoes), and a patio! Eating breakfast outside hits different.

Very pleasant staff. Service is good, food we had was delicious and everyone is well protected. Our favorite restaurant for breakfast.

I was guided to an outdoor table, but the weather was so cold that I couldn't even know the taste of the pancakes. It was a meal that I regretted overall.

Tried to go there for breakfast on Sunday with my boyfriend who I have been living with for the past 6 months we haven’t had a chance to change over our ID’s yet they asked us for ID and we explained the situation they refused to let us eat together when we said no other restaurant is asking for ID and that the government has stated we do not have to provide ID but only need to sign a form stating we live together the waiter was very rude and said it’s up to the restaurants discretion what they do. We have been eating out at restaurants and have not been asked for ID we have only had to sign a form stating we actually live together. The waiter was extremely rude about it, I will never give this restaurant my business again, they are making their own rules and not following government guidelines. Maybe you should train the server on proper customer service and how to treat people properly without the attitude and complete disregard for professionalism.

Not busy when there after 9 a.m. Good service. Excellent breakfast. Potatoes especially
good this morning. Server said getting a bit busier now. There seemed to be steady flow of customers coming in.

I come from out of town i always eat place is very very joan is very helpful on meal suggestions. She is more then willing to take her time to help over the yrs on my food sedatives. Because I have can only have certain foods. Thanks joan love money and time well dental keep up the good work. The is a must place to eat vegan healthy choices

Nice interior, typical pancake house breakfast but service is not the best every time I have visited since they opened. Definitely would like to check out the patio once though

They turned us away because they wanted all of our ids to be from the same household which is obscure and my girlfriend has been living with me for two years and I told them that, so we went to another restaurant and they didn’t ask for any ids and just believed that we were from the same household no problems at all. Gotta love living in the most racist province in Canada I’m indigenous proud. Just a very aggressive and rude staff towards the customers paying for there wages, I felt discriminated at that point and embarrassed.

I love eating here, the people are nice and the food is good. Sunday brunch or Thursday lunch it doesn't matter!

Horrible service. Waited half hour for our order. No follow-up from waitress. We made eye contact and a few times I had called her to take our order and to top-up on coffee. Then to grab our bill. It's like we were invisible to them.

Las Cabos or whatever omlette was 'OK' though so I guess 1 star is fair.

Never coming here again.

Very good place to have a breakfast in the morning. Even woke up late, this resto is open until 2pm. The place is bright and cozy. Lots of natural light from outside which I like so much. Staffs are friendly and not grumpy unlike other restaurants.
I just hope they asked for our IDs to make sure we are from the same household but they didn't. (Just during these times anyways).

Pancake house is amazing everything there is delicious the hash browns are a bit salty but still the pano cake tastes so good and there creeps are so big but taste I recommend that place to go to.

From the fresh faced staff to the quick friendly service and yummy breakfast, Pancake House is doing it right!

Sadly the raspberries they gave were rotten. Which I didn't know until I already put them on the pancake. Worst bite of a pancake I've ever had!

Let me start by saying we typically have great service here however, today was not that day. It felt like self serve, grabbed our own high chair, crayons, waited for service, food, several servers and waited to be billed. Spoke to the manager who said they are fully staffed, so no excuses on her end. No offer for much of anything, just black coffee, no cream sugars. Seriously disappointing. Just permanently lost repeat customers. I feel sorry for those waiting to get in, looked about to get real busy and, it was only half full when we arrived.
