The Russell Inn

The Russell inn, the first time came here, i had an appointment at 11. I decided to grab a bite first.i got seated at 10: 12 in the restaurant. The special was their house burger.being the special I thought the wait time would be down to a minimum, boi was i wrong. 10 after 11 rolls around i get my meal. By that time my beverage was finished. The staff was decorating the place up with balloons so never really bothered coming around asking if the food was good or asking if i needed a refill. The reason why i gave the rooms a 1 star is only because my accommodation was provided else where. I did not stay here.

We were driving across Canada and happened upon this inn along the way. It was late, but the staff were friendly and able to get us checked in quickly, despite the fact that we had no reservation. The rooms were very well kept and clean. The beds were super comfortable. 10/10

I was pleasantly surprised by the place. Quite a huge property, right besides Tim hortons and gas station. Very convenient for highway traveller's. The size of the room was decent. I found scraps from previous traveller's. But generally, quite happy with the amenities provided.

Charged top dollar for meals and get absolutely disgusting stale soggy salad.
Dry ribs were just grissel … pop we ordered was flat.highly do not recommend coming here

Great location for a trip to Asessippi! Staff is very friendly. Banquet facilities are great. Rooms are comfortable.

Didn't like my stay at the Russell inn that much due to the fat that the key cards rarely worked it was like a 1 to 100 chance of getting it to work on front door and worked more often on other entrance. Shampoo dissolved instantly as I put it onto my hand while taking a shower so I couldn't wash my hair. Hot tub and pool had too much chlorine, which caused everyone in the pool area to cough constantly including me. Lots of kids running around the hallways and making noise and the staff not doing anything. Tv wasn't working when we tried turning it on for a day. Disappointed in the hotel considering the fact that I payed 175$ a night.

I had so much fun! The front desk worker was really straight forward and that was good! I had a lot of fun in the pool and in the game room! It’s really nice to stay bcuz it’s near a gas station & subway & tims! The Russell Inn was really worth it! There’s also like a restaurant inside of the hotel that is really nice and i think a bar thing? Idk i couldn’t go! But the restaurant was so good they had the best pizza i had ever had in my whole life.not even winnipeg pizza tastes that good! I love that pizza! The rooms were pretty nice! The window was a little gross there was like some liquid but that’s fine, i really liked the coffee station thing it was super cool! I slept on a pull out bed and it was Wayyy better then i thought! It was a huge bed like queen size! I would definitely come back here!

Everything was good rooms were very clean staff was helpful and nice, swimming pools a but small but hottub is perfect the hotel also includes a salon and laser hair removal stuff I recommend coming here!

Stayed for two nights, absolutely no complaints. Staff were amazing and very accommodating. Changed our reservations twice due to weather and work schedules but Ida made sure we were taken great care off.

Food is not as good as it used to be. I ordered a Denver and pretty sure it was pre made eggs. Flat as a pancake and not very tasty at all. People we talked that day said their fish was over cooked and to salty. They left their food on the table. Very dissapointed

Place was good good beds the thing that bugged me the most is that kids were running around and stomping in the middle of the night

Worst experience ever. Straight out of a horror movie. The sketchy staff locked me out of my hotel room for an hour in the middle of the night in minus 30 weather while my dog was trapped in the room. When I complained I was told I could stay somewhere else. We both left traumatized. Don't stay here if you are a woman travelling alone.

Rooms were incredibly clean. Our first room was small and older, but well maintained. Our kitchenette/trundle bed room was nicely updated and fully stocked. My husband frequently stays in kitchenette rooms for work and was very impressed on how well the kitchen was stocked. Restaurant was happy to give us a few butters for our toast in the morning. Pool was clean and well attended. Our only complaint was kids running around late at night (after 11pm), but that’s not the hotels fault. We honestly cannot wait to go back!

One of the best hotels in rural Manitoba. I have stayed her about a dozen times over the years and it’s always consistently good!

We stopped to fuel up at the Esso and met the most adorable kitten, saddly she seems to have been abandoned, the staff did not recognize her and said she had been hanging around for over 2 days.

We couldnt just leave her there.
The staff were very helpful in supplying various pet supplies, old news papers, a few bags/cardboard boxes, some water, a bowl food, etc etc. Everybody pitched in a little, and now, Mercy, as we have names her, is happily on her way to alberta!

We stopped in for dinner while on the road and were pleasantly surprised. The steak dinner was to die for. Absolute perfection. The gumbo soup was also delicious. Was a bit pricey but good overall.

Amazing, clean full service hotel in the small community of Russell. Excellent location with a restaurant inside the hotel and Subway and Tim Hortons across the street, inside and outside access to your room for easy loading of your luggage. Pool, waterside and hot tub were clean and in good working order. Room a little dated but they have the best mattresses I have slept on in a hotel ever.

Nice, cozy little rooms, super friendly staff. Having tim hortons and subway right next door is a big plus.my room was possibly haunted the TV kept switching itself over to the DVD player

Well there were 20 black flies in our room when we arrived. The toilet came unhinged from the floor while using it. Not properly secured. When we complained it we were never offered an immediate change of room or a discount. They had maintenance come and 'fix' it along with getting rid of the flies. In the middle of the night, the toilet came loose again! Will not recommend.

Room was incredibly clean. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, staff were super friendly and helpful. Restaurant had lots of options and everything I tried was very delicious. Great service at the bar as well. Whole experience was great and was a good value as well. Definitely recommend.

Best value I've had in a long time. The suits are clean and comfy. It's older so the accommodations are slightly spartan. The staff are very friendly and it's very close to all amenities. You simply cannot beat price!

Only complaint would be that some of the rooms the water pressure is weak

A classic well known spot that I'm sure everyone in the area has been to once or twice. Food and drink used to be unbelievably good but has unfortunately gone a little down hill through the years.

It's definitely not horrible food though! A little disappointed with my latest visit. Went with a friend and we ended up getting a Cesar salad and a "spicy" Cajun chicken salad with a few cocktails.

My friend loved her Cesar Salad but I was kind of shocked by how bad the "Cajun Chicken" salad was.

It was just a regular Cesar salad with rubbery chicken that had "Cajun seasoning" but I really didn't taste it. Even stranger is I was given a small dish of Salsa with the salad. It didn't sound or look super appealing but I thought it was maybe one of those weird things that sound bad but just taste good together.

Nope, very gross with the extra salsa on top. I feel terrible for criticizing the food and I really am not a picky eater but it was incredibly disappointing paying $20 for a salad i couldn't finish eating when I've had unbelievably fantastic meals at the same place.

BE CAUTIOUS IF YOUR A YOUNG ADULT ORDERING COCKTAILS!

We noticed that all of our drinks came in small almost wine-glass like cups, while other, older customers were ordering the same drinks as us and where getting full sized highball glasses? I understand younger people tend to get rowdy but we both ordered 2 drinks and came in on skateboards so clearly not driving anywhere after. Why should we pay more for less?

I'm sure they'll say that each cocktail comes in its own glass thats meant for it and that we must have confused a different cocktail from what we ordered or that the volume of liquid was the same just in different cups but I watched a table order 2 "purple helmets" and get them in highball glasses and when we ordered the exact same we got smaller, less filled glasses.

Definitely have to check the place out if you haven't, lots of people love it! But maybe I'll have to look for a new go to place for meals and drinks when in Russell.

Family and I stayed for 2 nights.
Our rooms was spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 kids.
2 king size beds
2 tvs which provided a few movie, sporting and news channels.
Wifi is free with the stay
1 comfy couch
2 tables, 1 was a office table and the other was small 2 person dining table.
No kitchen
Just a microwave and bar fridge
Washroom was spacious.
Rooms had adequate space for a few luggages, ice fishing gear and snowboarding gear!
The room are kept well cleaned.
No issues with the stay.
Had a goodnight sleep every night.
We stayed when temperatures hit -35 in the evening, and didn't have to worry about my vehicle not starting as they have outlets outside to plug vehicles in.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Always made sure we were comfortable and satisfied.
Walking distance from the Russell Inn is Esso Gas Station that has Subway and Tim Hortons inside, also beside is a vendor.
Across the highway is a A&W and a chicken chef.
The town of Russell is literally a 30 second drive, which my wife wanted to check out to see a couple coffee shops.
They have an IGA grocery store.
They also have a drive in touchless car wash that lookes like it would fit a semi trailer!
Overall stay was great and I would definitely recommend a stay here!

My room was very clean and comfortable. The staff during check in were very polite, professional and friendly. They accommodated me with my needs. Check out was very efficient and quick with friendly staff as well.

Good stay with a comfy bed and pleasant staff but please shop around and call if you need to save money.the purpose of my trip was to save money and this was 100% 2 star standard motel quality which charged a premium for a single bed, single night. Quoted and charged 139 for a single night where I arrived late in the night (around 11pm) and left by 930 am. No seniors discount for my father either when asked. All my other stops along Manitoba and Ontario had $70-80 rates for DOUBLE beds and clean rooms.

You can definitely save yourself $40-60 by staying elsewhere with rooms of the same quality if you're not picky about needing a bed for the night. Nothing against the staff or hotel, I just should've shopped around my first night of my cross Canada road trip. Beware of the high price compared to other places!

If you're staying a few nights, great choice since it's clean and the staff are friendly and restaurant is great! Happy they were able to accommodate my last minute stay. Long story short, just research when in that area! May save some $
