The Wood Tavern

We shared 1 meal of fish and chips to tide us over to our dinner plans, so it's hard to make a more informed review. That being said it was delicious and possibly my favourite tartar sauce. The design and decor is beautiful stylistically, really neat. Service was friendly. Can't believe my small non-alcoholic drink was 8 dollars though.

Good food.
Went for a 50th birthday party. Waitress took care of a huge table. Did very well!
Food was good and NOT over-priced!

Great atmosphere, good food. Brisket was absolutely fantastic. The steak was mediocre. GET THE BRISKET.

Food was amazing! And service was great, the waitress was funny and friendly, quick service as well. Day chef is amazing!

First time trying The Wood Tavern's food, wanted a big juicy burger so I got The Wood Burger, well it wasn't juicy at all, very dense, skimpy on the lettuce, tiny tomato and I couldn't even taste the hickory bacon ranch at all and to me my burger patty was burnt, not worth 22$ that's all I tasted was burnt. Fries were crispy and the wings were alright, the sauces I got were good, honey dill and some honey mustard I think? The taste just fell flat and charred.

Once you make it through the eerie hotel lobby you reach a snazzy bar in the back. Amazing food. Big tables for large group events. And some different styled chairs for max relax ammiright. 10/10

Mouth watering food served in an inviting friendly atmosphere. If you're peculiar, this place is for you.

Wood Tavern was a great place for dinner. We went on a whim for my partner's birthday. The food was delicious and the service was great. The kitchen mixed up a side and it took a bit longer than I expected but it wasn't a big deal. It was explained instead of ignored - love that.
Best ribs I've had in a long time and the Brisket was MELT IN YOUR MOUTH.
Definitely check it out.

Good pub food with a classy twist. Fun place to meet with friend and hang out.

Good selection, two of the three meals we ordered were good, one was dry and tasteless. Yam fries were excellent!

Finally tried the Wood Tavern last Sunday and it was great! Dining area was cozy with some great decor. We both had the Beet Salad, added shrimp and chicken and paired with a house red. Presentation, flavour and service was fantastic!

Outstanding food, drinks and vibe. It has quickly become my go to place for amazing breakfasts and the most delicious dinners. Cant recco enough.

Ordered on ubereats the St.b smoked meat sandwich, and it literally tastes like someone accidently spilt a bowl of salt on it. I was so hungry I pushed through eating a small portion but had throw it out. My boyfriend tried a bit of the meat on its own and he loves salt and he couldn't believe how bad this was. Very disappointing to say the least. The marble rye was nice. And was also missing the pickle it advertised it was supposed to come with.: (

Was short on time for lunch, immediately seated and had a delicious hot lunch sitting in front of me in less than 10 minutes! Service was excellent and food great. I'll be going back for sure

The fish & chips were deep fried in dirty grease, resulting in blackened areas and unpleasant greasy taste. The fries were very subpar. The drink “Little Dove” did not taste like the delicious description. The “lime dust” on the rim was instead salt, which did not complement the drink; was quite a nasty surprise. The waitress was fine.

Breakfast Side is 10/10. Good options, better breakfast portions and prices than most brunch places.
Wood Tavern Side is 8/10. Amazing staff, cauliflower is beyond good, decent burgers+fries, and drinks are on another level. I have never been impressed by drinks until coming here. Overall, not a place I would come more than twice a year, but it's a refreshing change and still a recommend to friends!

Great atmosphere, even better food and drinks! If you Jordynn get as your server she will not disappoint. All her suggestions were really really good, we will be going back!

I loved it before the renos but wow have they ever done an incredible job with the place. The decor is beautiful, the craft cocktail menu is delicious and the local beer selection is top notch! Don't miss this one!

Visited for Le Burger Week 2022.

Had the Little Brown Cow Burger, with fries. The burger was good; nothing crazy. The fries were good too.

Also ordered the Campfire Cauliflower: Smoked & Fire-Grilled Seasoned Cauliflower, Hummus, Honey-Chili Oil, Crispy Chickpeas, Cilantro. This was amazing. 11/10. Try these!

Service was good. Nice atmosphere, a little dark though (low light). I liked the art on the walls, seats were comfy. I would definitely come back here.

Recent takeout experience was lacklustre. Ordered and payed for a large Caesar only to find a very small Caesar in the bag upon arriving home. Fries have changed from crisp shoestrings to soggy thick cuts, which is not to my liking. Burger was dry and lacked much in the way of flavour.

What can I say, the food is superb, atmosphere top notch. They do not have an exceptionally long menu which is handy for choosing but still have enough options for everyone and they what they do extremely well. Wait time was decent, price surprisingly low for what you get all around left happy. Have regular appointments at ST. B.and will be looking forward to coming here again.

Went for brunch, saw a mouse running around! I mentioned it to the manager and she didn’t seem concerned at all and just said “oh, we know about him. ” It was really unappetizing especially since they have an open kitchen concept. Other places would be shut down for this.

Many delicious flavors can be found here, but there was issues with the temperature of the food when served when we tried it.
It's a very nice atmosphere to sit and eat in. Elegant yet casual.

Smoked olives 3 stars
I wasn't as impressed with these olives. There were ok, but not something I would order again.

Lettuce wraps 4.25 stars
The flavor on the sambal chicken was excellent. It was a little tough though.

Campfire Cauliflower 4.5 stars
This should be a 5 star item but it was served lukewarm.

Duck fat poutine 4 stars
Standard poutine. It was good but it didn't stand out for me.

Braised beef brisket 4 stars
I'm big into BBQ, but this was missing something for me. It made me think of the poutine.

Chicken wings split into two sauces 4 stars?
Bbq sauce was fantastic in flavor
Lemon pepper they made for us even though it wasn't on the menu.
The issue was it was lukewarm.

Fish and chips 4 stars
This was the one item served hot tonight.
The portion size was huge.
I would have preferred if the batter was a little crispier. The fries are not really salted, which is better than being over salted.

Gingered pear 4 stars
I loved the fact that have a small non alcoholic offering. The drink itself was fine, but not something I would order all the time.

Service started off strong but our quality check never came during the apps and it came near the end of the meal.
We had issues with the temperature of the food but we were starving and by the time she came back it was a mute point.
The service itself was friendly and professional when there.

Service was poor, maybe the server was new? Seemed very inexperienced. Ribs are definitely not 100% smoked, they for sure pressure cook them then maybe artifical smoke, or smoke for a short period of time. Then thrown on the grill to create some 'bark' instead they served a rack of overcooked charcoal lol.

Enjoyed this place. Even being solo, it was a great time. Much to do and see in this nice place. Staff is so friendly. Thank you.

Quaint little spot with friendly service. Food is decent pub fare. Clean and well located this is a easy “stop in” spot. Definitely a solid mix of characters in the area that make it fun for a drink and people watching!

The menu is small but everything we ordered was very excellent! I'd definitely eat here again. The drink menu is also very good with a wide variety of cocktails and beer.

I ordered takeout sweet potatoes with jalapeno ioli Excellent,

The sweet potatoes were cooked perfectly, They were crunchy yet not overcooked Very bright colors They added salt and pepper very visual stimulating
Jalapeno ioli was fantastic, and colorful And tasty.

And now the criticism

I ordered take out to eat my car
I didn't get napkins or a fork
I did not know until I got to my car and drove away.

The take out container was small and easy to carry

But she gave me also massive paper bag to carry the take out container

Not necessary and not eco friendly.

Very good ambience with wooden architecture it gives a very LA type bar. Food is very good and the staff is very nice. It has spacious seating available. Ideal for birthday party or any celebration with friends. Will definitely recommend to young folks for dinner dates.

We had a reservation last night for 7 people. The service was so incredibly slow. It took a ridiculously long time to get drinks on the table in the first place and we all completely finished out first drink and were eagerly waiting for our server to be offered a second one. The server missed a guest at our table and she had to wait a very long time to order her second one following our already long wait. Our dinner took well over an hour after being ordered. The portions were very small. I personally ordered the gnocchi pasta it was very bland and the only flavour came from the shrimp I added on. I never finish an entree when eating out and I finished mine and went home hungry. Every single person commented on the size of the dishes served. Our server was horrible. Our food was below average. The craft cocktails were good but took forever to get to our table.

I used the bathroom before leaving and overheard another table complaining about the service and food as well.

Disappointing experience as we were all looking forward to eating at the wood!
