Thida's Thai Restaurant

Has some of the best Thai food in Winnipeg. Their Pa Lo spare ribs are so good (falls-off-the-bone juicy and tender with great flavours), which is saying a lot because I'm not a fan of pork and usually avoid pork. Peanut sauce is also the best if you're not allergic. Their Pad See-uw (I've seen it spelt differently at different restaurants) is also really good. Food this good I jokingly call "crack food" to mean *really* good.

Every time I come here it is delicious, tastiest Thai food I've had outside of Thailand. And always served with genuine kindness.

Very meger food. Portions are adequate just not tasty. Not a pleasant atmosphere kind of dingy and unkept. Staff varied from nice to surly.

The empty fish tank was gurgling. It needs filling or turn the filter off to avoid it burning out.

Food was exceptional. Delicious, large portions.

Quaint atmosphere and definitely returning.

I ordered take out for the first time trying this restaurant. I was very dissatisfied by the portion sizes. The green curry chicken had four tiny shavings of chicken in the entire dish. The taste was okay. I will stick to my regular Thai place. Tried something new and wish I hadn’t.

We ordered via DoorDash nearing end of night… have been eating here off and on for 20 years… the food we just had was so obviously thrown together w whatever late night food scraps they had left. My Tom Yum which is normally a clear red colour was cloudy and yellow, and instead of the usual zucchini, carrots, mushrooms, it was LOADED with nearly an entire large onion and a few mushrooms. It was %100 inedible, I put rice in it and the dog ate it. The beef pad si ew was basically noodles w the odd bite of old meat… Once a go to, I will never eat here again. Absolutely disgusting

Went for a late lunch today, and had the green curry soup with stuffed chicken appetizer. Everything was excellent. We both agreed the soup was the best we'd ever had! The flavours were incredible. The service was excellent!

Great hospitality and ambiance. It’s a true family owned restaurant, there were little kids sitting at a table and Ma was taking care of them.

I got a lunch special, garlic pork over vegetables. Very flavourful, vegetables were crisp but steamed, pork reminded me of Thai flavours.

This is my favourite place for Thai food. Soups are pheniminal, meals are delicious. Matsaman top notch. Highly recommend you guys to try this hidden gem out. Never a bad experience.

Hands down the best Red or Green Cury Soup I have had ever! Highly also recommend the deep fried wontons or stuffed chicken wings!
Staff is soooo friendly too makes for a great experience, especially when I can't pernounce most of the menu items.

One of my favorite restaurants in winnipeg! Best spring rolls out there, so much flavor and crunchy! I find the food to be always fresh and so delicious, I highly recommend coming here. Staff are friendly and welcoming, best thai food in winnipeg by far!

Being a dasher I feel very disappointed when restaurant mark its order is ready to pick up and when you go there for pick up and the staff said that we are working on it. What is the point tgen to mark it order is ready? Your point is just to prove that the dasher is wrong and he is taking more time to pick up the Order. Please don't do that and be honest to your job.

We had the coconut rice and red curry soup with sea food. The rice was perfectly cooked with excellent coconut structure. The red curry soup was mild spicy, just how we oredered it and it was packed full of cabbage, broccoli, peppers and a wonderful tastey broth. If you have to wait for your order, it's for good reason. Ours only took 20 minutes when we ordered for pickup over the phone. Customer service was excellent. The staff at the front was very polite and so friendly.

Great family run Thai Restaurant. The senior matriarch brings a smile and greets each table. Stuffed chicken wings are not what I thought they’d be but are large and very good. Comes with peanut dipping sauce, was only missing some spice. Tom Yum with chicken (spice level 8) was excellent and brought the heat. M

Food was absolutely delicious, came back here after a few years and surprised by their renovation, cute little place in downtown area. We really enjoy the cuisine and shall return somedays

One of my favorite places. Super friendly, consistently delicious. #23 green curry soup, and #37 peanut curry are favs. Crab wontons are also really tasty.

Food was okay (the pad see ew and pad nut tasted almost identical) and while the server was friendly, she only came to take order and put food on table.

I order from this place all the time - their food is fabulous. It is delicious. Their staff are friendly.but service is very slow. Expect to wait. If they tell you food will be ready for pick up in half and hour, maybe show up in 40 minutes instead. Even then you'll probably be standing in a big group of people also waiting for their orders to come out. It's good really, they're busy, I hope they do really well. That part is very annoying. But the food is so worth it.

I've been to Thida's over a dozen times since 2015. Excellent little place. Try everything. They do a good Pad Thai, green curry chicken, and a really nice green papaya or mango salad.

The best Thai place in the city! Great service, amazing food and amazing prices! Genuine Thai food from an authentic Thai family. Everyone is always so friendly!

DON'T TRUST THEIR ALLERGY AWARENESS - I called ahead to inquire about making our meal egg free for my allergic son and was told just to note it on skip in my order. I did so (for all the dishes) and the pad thai clearly had egg in it when it arrived. I called back to discuss and they said they'd send a fresh dish, which they did (thank you!) Used to be one of my favorite Thai places. I used to just order the soup which is still really good. I went on a date with my wife and we ordered other classic Thai foods like Pad Thai and it was terrible. Tasted like the sauce was made with nothing but ketchup and there were about 6 bean sprouts on top. The curry we ordered was bland with frozen vegetables.

When asked how the food was on the way out I was honest about my experience. I was then asked to leave the restaurant because the owner was offended.

I would never go back here simply because of the way I was treated, but also because the food was the worst Thai food I've ever had. Go somewhere else.

Today I ordered food on New Year’s Eve for my father as he was going to be eating alone I sent a quick message to Thida‘s that it was for my 84-year-old father and that he would be eating alone today and that he loved their food.

The most beautiful thing is that they wrote a note accompanied with his food that brought tears to my father‘s eyes were they wished him a happy new year told him that they would be thinking of him and that he wasn’t alone tonight and wish him the best health.how kind is that what an amazing group of people.

I highly recommend them for their food but also just for their kindness and compassion

Just ordered so called Thai food I thought. Absolutely TERRIBLE. Why such little thinly slice chicken curry? More vegetables than anything. 2nd dish worst Thai sausage I ever had and it looks like I got 1 sausage cut into 10 pieces and placed on top of bunch of cabbage. Worst of all. Dry as heck. 3rd Tom Yum soup was way off taste and considering I ordered seafood. I only got 1 piece variety each of seafood and more vegetables again. What a waste of my money.worst experience eating Thai food. I'm Thai myself. I truly recommend some place else. 0 out of 10

Absolutely terrific thai food. Had the Thai spicy wings w/peanut sauce (a bit overcooked but still very tasty) Pad Mee w/veg and Pad Keeng w/ pork. All mains were excellent! The vegetables were firm (not raw) and fresh. The pork was moist and zero fat, both sauces were divine! Specially the ginger flavor was very present but not overpowering.
The woman at the counter was very nice. They were very busy!
I highly recommend this place if you want succulent Thai food.

With so many Thai places in Winnipeg these days it is hard to love one over another as I tend to like 3 things at one place and like 3 different things better at the other. With that said, Thilda has always been in my top 3 and often my top 2 go to Thai places even though I pass by 5 others before I get to it. The staff have always been great. Food always tastes freshly prepared. I've had so many dishes from them but as green and red curries, stuffed chicken wings, rice and salad rolls &/or lettuce wraps are my family genuine Thai must haves no matter what else we may order, I have always loved Thilda for this. The environment inside is also great. Ambience reminds me so much of living in SE Asia that it makes me homesick for my second home. If the food reminds you have authentic food you know it has to be great

Ordered pad Thai, asked for it to be made vegan. When we got it it clearly had egg in it. Upon complaining to the restaurant they did not seem to understand what vegan meant and stated we should have requested no egg. I (non vegan) found it tasted like ketchup. Very disappointing experience and would not recommend.

Had the pad nut lunch special (vegetarian) and spring rolls, a bit expensive at nearly $15 with small portion size and average taste, tofu was unmarinated. Fair customer service.

I am so disappointed. I was so looking forward to coming home to eat a good meal. My battered veggies were in a blob and my mango sticky rice was awful. The mango was rotten and just cut in half plopped on the rice. I will never order from this place again.

Used to be a regular customer but ordered on Skip recently and was very disappointed. One of the dishes had so much grease from ground pork that it was inedible and very unappealing (didn't realize you would receive ground pork instead of sliced for a dish, maybe they ran out of the good sliced pork?) Pad si ew dish was basically all vegetables, barely any noodles, doesn't make sense for a noodle dish

I placed quite the large order for our office. I was asked for a pick up time and I told them what time we would like to pick up. When we picked up our order and brought it back to the office, we found that they forgot a couple items. We called back and they were argumentative and said we picked up after the lunch time (which is not listed and they never stated that), said they had asked me if we wanted the lunch specials (which I was not asked). This is the second time we have placed a large order with them, first time was great, not so much this time. I will never order from this place again based on being called a liar, and the customer service in general.

All the food at this wonderful cozy location is delicious, the temperature of the food, the presentation of the food & the decoration of the place is very nice & intricately done. The woman who works at this location is one of the most wholesome people I've ever met & this place deserves more exposure than it currently has.

I am really disappointed in this restaurant. Two years ago, my friend recommended their papaya salad to me and it was really delicious at that time. After I bought it a few times the papaya salad ，the papaya was not very fresh, but the taste was not bad. Today I tried to eat their papaya salad again, but this time it really made me angry, the $12 papaya salad was only a half and the other half was a quarter of no cooked lettuce. Not only was the papaya stale not fresh, but also the peanuts stale.so I won't go back again.

Normally I'd give Thida's a 5/5, but their quality's been slipping in the past 6 months. The last few times I've ordered, there have been ingre-dients missing (like only noodles in the rice rolls) in a few orders and/or food that was off/rotten:/

The restaurant cancelled my order on DoorDash because they are no longer accepting DoorDash orders. Why advertise on the app, accept to take on the order, and then not fulfill it? For the record I ordered well before their closing hours at 5: 30pm.

I have been coming here for atleast 10 years and the food, for the most part, is delicious.

Recently I've had a solid handful of unpleasant experiences with my take home order.

One of which, I had ordered a particular dish and got a beef lemongrass dish instead and when I called after arriving home they mocked me and claimed I was trying to get a free dish. They eventually gave me an option for refund, but only after arguing with me and accusing me of wanting free food; I took a Thida's break for quite a while after that.

Last weekend, I gave them another chance and my partner and I ordered two dishes at a spice level of 7, for my self, and my partner chose 8; our food was so mild we actually asked each other if this was what we had ordered. There was no spice, it was like they completely forgot to add any chilies, and after my last experience dealing with a mistake on their part, well we just ate it.

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be back for a while it was that off-putting.

If you want good thai go to Vientiane in st Boniface, they're amazing.

If you like horrible, unfriendly service and being told they're closing an hour earlier then they were. This is the place for you! The food is average at best. Avoid this place and enjoy thai cuisine somewhere, anywhere else.

Food was excellent and so was the service. I enjoyed everything I ordered. I will definitely go back next time I am in the area.
