The chef didn’t know English and showed his impatience with me when I inquired of what he meant and said huge language barrier, food was alright but I came away as the villain never as I was warned to come back again so sad we had gone there in the past with no problems but sadly we are now not welcomed back” you are bad! We were told because an misunderstanding in communication.

My order was a delivery. The food was still hot when it arrived. The quality was amazing and tasted delicious! The person who took my order was so friendly and kind. The delivery individual was so polite and greeted with a smile. I recommend Toy Sun to anyone!

Menu posted online is wrong prices. Prices are so so expensive. Post an updated menu please. Wok house is cheaper and better.

First time ordering after reading some reviews. Overall proteins were bland and very dry. Chicken was overcooked and under seasoned.

So far it's my top pick in Winnipeg for Chinese fairly priced and good portion sizes. Also very friendly and helpful staff. If anyone says any different than they're high

Friend told us about this Chinese restaurant, took my wife out for dinner there and was not disappointed! Food was tasty delicious and the best we’ve had in a very long time, we will be going there from now on. Call and make reservations for dinner because it fills up fast. Enjoy

Cantonese Chow Mein here is one of the best in the city! Staff is friendly. The quality of the food is excellent. The value is decent as well. I always forget to take pictures because I’m always so eager to dig into my plate. Definitely will be back.

First time ordering from there. Picked food up Friday after work.
Was not going to post but because I’m throwing out more than half of my order after trying to choke it down the last 3 days I thought I would share my experience.
The only positive thing I have to say is that the portions are huge.
I ordered the ginger beef and Shanghai noodles with chicken.
The beef was a soggy mess. This is usually my favourite dish from other Chinese food restaurants.
The noodles were so overcooked that I really did not have to even chew them. Made me want to gag.
I tried to eat them cold the next day as they were a bit firmer that way.
I don’t like throwing food out, especially in this economy. I tried to eat it again over the next couple of days (Saturday and Sunday), but ended up feeding what was on my plate to my dog. She didn’t mind it.

Great food at reasonable prices. I haven't eaten inside just picked up food. The service is quick and frenzied but that is fine with me I just want to get my food and go home anyway. I like the deluxe lo Mein and breaded veal Szechuan chicken also recommended

After almost three years of Covid, dining in is back with 8 tables for 4,2 tables for 5 to 8 diners. Prices are up slightly, reflecting what's going on elsewhere, but portion sizes have not been reduced. Pan-fried Beef with Ginger & Green Onions is spectacular. The beef is incredibly tender: it is possible to cut it with a fork. Dry Szechuan Beef is a mountain of goodness. The Shrimp with Spicy Salt continues as a go-to dish. We were welcomed back like family, and that's what Toy Sun is: family run, family cooking. Highly recommend eating in; there is something that little bit better about kitchen to plate without delivery or take-out wait times.

We have been going to Toy Sun for about five years now and they have the best Chinese food in Winnipeg! We lived on the northside where it is handy but we moved to the south end and will drive over 20km round -trip to get the Chinese food.
I can honestly say we have never had a bad dish there yet. Our favourites are Ginger beef, sweet & sour pork, dry breaded shrimp, curry vermicelli and chicken fried rice. If you spend $50 you get the chicken fried rice free.
The staff is super friendly and they haven’t had dining since before Covid but we’ve eaten inside though and that’s good too.

Ordered delivery from here this evening! Food came quick in about 30 minutes! Portions were very big and everything was so tasty! Very fresh tasting! Definitely recommend Toy Sun!
