Turtle Crossing

This is built on a residential school graveyard and the owners won't let anthropologists in to help the children finally go home.

Do you want to set up your tent/RV on the unmarked graves of indigenous children, then this is your place. Otherwise, stay away!

Awesome spot! Our family was there two times, once on the way out to Alberta and once on the way back. We almost stayed on our way west as the kids loved it there, we all made good friends and there was lots to do for fun; so we compromised and stopped on our way back through lol.

Loved this campground, lots for the kids to do from toddler to teen, both my kids adored the bike rental! The owner is really nice and helpful too, campground is quite and tidey and they seem to have plans to add more stuff next year!
Note: the lake has a rock bottum so need some water shoes or its ouch chasing the kids lol and there a block that holds little slide you can't see and I ran into hurt my foot a bit, I'm definitely planning a longer trip here next summer!

We loved our experience at Turtle Crossing! We had an issue with our camper and Mark was kind enough to help us out with the issue and provide assistance. The campground is clean, quiet and great for families. We were also very pleased to see the work that Mark and his family have done to ensure the restoration and commemoration and education of the unmarked Residential School graves. I encourage all visitors to read the information Mark has shared on the website as well as pay their respects to the gravesites.

We have never spent any time in Manitoba before. To be honest we would just speed through it. We decided it was time to change that. Traveling to Ontario from Vancouver Island. This campground checked off all the boxes for what we needed (even if it was to rest for the nighf). So much to do and the sunsets are gorgeous! Next time will plan a longer visit.
