Two Men and a Truck

They arrived with 3 men. Having the 3rd man made things go very smoothly. Our furniture was heavy Oak and it had to go up to the third floor. They worked hard to get it there! I would definitely recommend Two Men and a Truck to family and friends!

I’m sorry, the two young guys sent to do the job had no experience, took half an hour to take a door off, didn’t know the storm door could be loosened etc, most of furniture was donated, so apart from a medical chair and single bed, two dressers, kitchen set TV’s and a couple of minor items it was boxes. They tried to get a dresser out the bedroom which obviously didn’t have the turn space so we said tip it up. My daughter and I kept helping them by placing boxes near the door. (I’m 81 we had movers so I didn’t have to lift and carry) A couple of items were damaged but we had no before photos as we thought we were getting professionals. They took a single box at a time even though they had a dolly. It was a gong show.
The estimate was for three and a quarter hours and of course came in at just under $900, it would have been worse if not for my sons in law’s organizing at the new place. I wrote not happy on the bill, sent an e mail detailing the service and asked for a partial refund as I thought it should have taken less time not more. It was disappointing as this company had such a good reputation from different people I’d spoken to but that was a few years ago. I didn’t hear back from two men and a truck of course but I didn’t expect them to contact me even though I followed up with a phone call and was brushed off. It was disappointing and so how not to be a moving company. The young men were polite and pleasant but that’s the only good thing of the day.

They worked hard but they charge too much for the quality of there work and they damage furniture. They also do not seem to have proper moving equipment or tools of any kind with them. Be prepared to do a lot of work yourself and not get paid. Better movers out there im sure. One star for working hard but damaging my stuff. Too bad.

Let’s start with the estimate.
I was estimated at around $430, give or take, for a 3 hour job. This job was booked for Oct 2nd at 3: 30pm.
They had neglected to ask for adequate info that would’ve, while not by much, changed my estimation.

Cut to Oct 2nd. It is 4: 30pm and nobody is there yet. We receive a call from them saying their previous job is running a bit over, but they’ll be there in an hour.
Ok, no worries, stuff happens! This work is hard to predict.

However. It is now 6: 30, and we’ve called repeatedly to no help. Each call is met with “we’ll be there in 20 minutes”. At this point they are 3 hours late.
At 7: 30, FOUR HOURS LATE, they arrive. I go down to let them in, and they say they have to call their boss because it’s now too dark to do the move.
I had to be moved out /that day/, and now because of their negligence I would potentially have to face extra fees for staying past my lease.

They then tell me the form says i’m on the first floor (i was on the third) and that the job would be estimated around 6 hours. Despite what the booking mgmt told me.

Whatever, right? So they come the next morning for the move (an hour and a half late). They seem to be dragging their feet, but it’s early so i brush it off. We all get tired! Then when i meet them at the storage unit and they proceed to take their sweet time, dropping my things and talking on the phone while they work.

They tried to charge me $859 for this job. I am trying to dispute this because i do not believe their work was worth almost 900 dollars.

Anticipate your charge to be double the estimate.

They made moving look easy! Lol
We have moved many times and this is the first time we used movers. Excellent choice!

The drivers were 20 minutes late. I was then told that the hourly charge would increase from $139 to $180 because there were 3 men instead. He assured me that it would only cost $100 more. ONLY! The move went fine overall. The guys were pleasant. However, they dropped some nuts in my old place, so they couldn't finish putting my bed together. I had to do that myself the next day. For 3 hours work, I should have been charged $540 plus tax = $605. Instead, I was charged $677.

Two Men and a Truck were absolutely fantastic. They made sure to keep the truck in a safe spot that didn't block traffic, and they took great care with my things, including the fragile boxes and disassembled furniture. They were respectful, friendly and good-natured.

Guaranteed efficient and great service, no doubt! Just have an issue about the $40 deposit, I was told that the amount will be deducted to the final bill, but ended up non-deductible. Until now, I don’t know what’s that $40 for that I ended up paying? I was hoping they could’ve explained that well enough.

My first experience in using Two Men and a Truck, and it was pretty positive experience. I’ve made an error with scheduling, but they were very accommodating. I haven’t had any moving experience with this company. Although, today I was driving on the perimeter highway with their truck behind me. I was in the passing lane as there was also lots of traffic at that time. The truck sped up and tailgated me for about 5 minutes until I finally got to the right lane. I ended up stopping at a red light beside them and the man in the passenger seat didn’t take his eyes off me once. I avoided eye contact best I could but the man was breaking his neck just to stare me down which made me extremely uncomfortable as a 19 year old girl. So creepy and disrespectful, I was over the speed limit on the highway aswell so very uncalled for.

This moving company, we feel, has lied and stolen from us. They quote an estimate and then make you pay - the estimate on delivery; which they say you can take up with manager in office later. They have an actual move cost, no problem with that, and an additional load/unload hourly rate of $135; which they claim you only pay the actual time it takes the movers to do this. They quoted the estimate of 10 1/2 hours load/unload; actually time spent was from 930 AM to 12 noon to load and from 920 AM to 12 noon to unload. Upon unloading our rocker/recliner chair was torn; which the movers and myself took pictures of and they said they would send it in to the office with the paperwork. I sent pictures of it to local upholstery places to get quotes on repairs. Upon many tries of communication with this company and also a drive over to their business place; the only offer they gave us is $100 upholstery repair and 2 hours of load/unload time. Tell me how fair is this, where do you find someone to reupholster a chair for $100, and it was over a month and they did not even look at this claim/paperwork until we went over to the business place - very unfortunate, very poor business people; so beware when dealing with them

Overall we were satisfied with the service. Harry and his partner did a great job both loading and unloading.
There was some confusion from office personal on how payment was expected to be made but we worked through it.
The single biggest concern was that the truck was not large enough to take everything. We had to go back the next day from Dryden to Ile Des Chene for one last pickup truck load. The issue wasn't how it was loaded it was just not correctly estimated. Our list of items was accurate and we also filled two pickups to try and get it all.

This company did not honour their contract to supply a 26ft truck to move all the contents of my home. As a result, it took many hours longer than expected to arrange the boxes and furniture in a truck half the size. They also had to make two trips because they could not fit everything in to the smaller truck. In the end, it took more than 10 hours and more than $1500 to move 15 minutes within the city.

I was a repeat customer and also told them I would be needing them again in the near future, so was very surprised the company was unresponsive to my concerns every time I spoke with them, including on moving day and three times afterwards. Each time they agreed my concerns were legitimate and worthy of a refund. They promised to get back to me by the end of every day and failed to do so. Several weeks later, I have still not received compensation or a return conversation addressing the problem.

Two words: Buyer Beware!

Terrible moving experience. We were moving last year and had seen the good reviews for two men and a truck so we decided to trust them. Big mistake!

Everything was okay at the start, we got our quote, time the movers would be there and requested and paid for a mattress cover.

Cue day of the move, we are ready for when they are supposed to be there at 9am. 9: 30 rolls around and no movers so we call, the receptionist informs us they left a while ago and should be there soon. 10: 30 rolls around, still no movers, we call back and reception tells us the true story that they slept in and didn’t actual leave until they were supposed to be here and we were a 3 hour drive outside the city. We were told they would definitely be there by noon, noon comes and goes and the moves don’t show up until 2: 30pm. Finally, they arrive and we get a move on because it’ll be dark at 6 and we still have a 3 hour drive back tonight. I ask if they brought the mattress cover and they say well you would have had to order that. I show them that I did and they say sorry we didn’t bring one but assure us they will wrap it in blankets. They bring it out, accidentally drop the bottom in the snow and don’t wrap it at all.

We are finally don’t the move and as they are leaving I remind them of the address in the city and the agreed upon time of 9am.
We drive back in a now snowstorm which didn’t hit until the evening but since they were late we are now stuck in.

We let that go and get ready to move into our place in Winnipeg. Keep in mind I had also informed the movers we were only allowed to book our elevator for 2 hours.
So we are there before 9am, doing the walk through. 9am comes and by 9: 30 when they haven’t arrived and 30 mins of our 2 hour move time is gone, we call. Reception said they had just left and will be there shortly. We wait around and they eventually arrive at 1: 45pm. The movers Blame the office saying they weren’t even booked until 2pm and the office blames the movers saying none called in sick so they had to find coverage. No one is taking responsibility and now I had to go request the elevator again which thankfully we were able to get. They do the move, my husband goes down to the truck and the mattress is tied to the truck… no blankets. We keep note and then call the owner. Reception said they’ll get back to us.

When he eventually called us back he was so sexist he only wanted to talk to my husband and after we explained everything finally said the best he could give us was $50 off for the trouble.

0/5 stars, I would go with any moving company other than this one.

My move was timely, efficient, and everything got here safe. Movers were personable and adapted to the parking situation around my building very well. Pricey, as all moving companies are, but the convenience is worth it IMO. For those who need to book elevators for move in/out, I would recommend you book in the morning ONLY as clients before you will probably delay your own move, at no fault to the company.

Loading and unloading team was great except for the follow up of damage to items still waiting to hear from office

We got them to move our heavy items from Winkler to Steinbach, the guys were nice but damaged our dinner table and gouged our doors frames by forcing the furniture thru the doorways, our linoleum was also gouged deeply

One of their driver literally stole my bed and chair. Tried calling them no one answers. Beware when your moving

I moved 6.5 hours from Winnipeg and hired two men and a truck. Two days before my move they contacted me and asked to change my date to a day earlier, due to a truck maintenance issue. This added stress to an already stressful time, as I booked with them months before and had furniture being delivered to my house for the day before the move. They are an expensive company - my move cost over $4000.00. When I expressed distress at their proposed change, the person passed me off to the manager of the branch, who said that we could proceed with the original plan. He said they would be at my house at 8 am Saturday. At 8 am on Saturday, the movers had not arrived, so I called the company. The manager responded to me saying 'they will arrive at 9: 00am, like I said'. When I saw the invoice at the end of the day, the time listed was 8am. I felt like both the manager and the desk staff that I talked to were rude and treating me like I was being challenging, when I was really just distressed at the inconsistency of service. Finally, the person who helped me book the move said that my quote of being charged for 24 hours of service was an estimate, and that it would be adjusted to the actual moving time. When we arrived at the destination, the movers told me that they would be charging me the full amount and that I would receive a copy of my receipt. I have not received a copy as of yet, and it is 5 days from my move. I have little hopes that the price will be adjusted to the hours that the movers actually took to move me. The movers themselves did a good job, and non of my furniture or possessions was broken in the process. This business did not make my transition less stressful, and I would not recommend them.

I had a very small move, just a washer/dryer set. Jill in the office was great to deal with, and found a way to fit me in in 24hrs. The guys were early, friendly, efficient and willing to help beyond what I asked them to do.
I had contacted 6 moving companies and 2 men and a truck was the only one who worked with me. I have no problem recommending them to anyone.

Excellent moving company. They were very considerate and reasonable in handling all my goods. Showed good work ethics and reasonable and affordable pricing.

Booked residential, local move weeks in advance. Received confirmation call 2 days prior to move but on the specified date, no one showed up and office did not call. I left 2 voice messages and then on 3rd call when movers were >4h late, someone at the office finally picked up and informed me that they'd had several no-shows for work that day and the move had been postponed to the next day due to staffing shortage. Movers showed up the next day and were very pleasant individuals but didn't wrap mattresses for transportation and they were absolutely filthy when they re-appeared from the bottom of the truck at the new location.

I'm disappointed that the company didn't proactively notify me that there was a staffing issue and they knew that move would have to be delayed. Nor did they offer a discount on the moving services or hotel or meal reimbursement given that we had to spend the night in a hotel as the move didn't occur at the agreed time.

This company did a great job for me. Moving men where quick, professional and thorough. Would highly recommend.

I was extremely pleased with the entire experience - from booking a time with the Two Men and a Truck office, right through to the end of my moving day! The moving team: Cole, Willard, and Amritpal were all absolutely amazing! They were very careful with my furniture and my piano, they were so polite to me and my family, and they were highly efficient movers. Cole was great as their team lead. He shared the plan with me on the walk thru and checked in regularly regarding timing and any concerns (as in, having to take the elliptical apart to move it, or, asking me to drive anything quite delicate in my own vehicle). He also had a good sense of humour that kept things light on what could have been a very stressful day! They moved me from one house to another in such good time that the final bill actually came in at less than the quote. (I did not pick this company for the lowest cost, but that was a nice surprise!) I picked them because of the many positive reviews I had read, and now I am happy to add to that list. Excellent moving experience!
