Uptown Alley

Had a great time at a birthday party. Food is OK and the alleys are super fun for the kids. Great arcade as well. Excellent customer service.

In this day of quantity over quality, I so greatly appreciate the high level of customer service I get every time I go. The staff are absolutely amazing. And the food is spectacular.

This is a great place to take the kids, and also a great place to have an adult party.

Love the arcade in the inside for the kids. But I do miss old school lanes with artist painted walls, it's new lanes for sure but a bit dark and grey in the bowling areas. Bring back the neon painted walls to go with the neon lights like the good ol' days. Found it a little loud during busy and non-busy times. Retired provincial champ here. Shoes are in great condition, well taken care of. Safe place to bowl with the kids. Overall professionally run, and upkept well. Bathrooms clean with space for strollers and wagons if bringing kiddos.

Likes: front counter employee was friendly and helpful, nice big place.

Dislikes: ran out of time because we took a bit of time to choose our balls and set up those silly pics. We asked for a bit more time but still didnt finish second game.

This is still a great place to visit!

I'd go here again and spend what little money I have left to bring fun to my life.

They have bowling too. Did not really like the food.

10 year old son loved it here for a birthday party. Pretty sweet arcade, clean and helpful staff.

First time coming here and we bowled for about an hour was pretty fun and the wings were pretty good they even have an arcade and bar nothing but good vibes

Neat idea, having arcade games, bowling, and laser tag all in one building!

We didn’t try out laser tag as we have an infant, but we did bowl. There are neat computers keeping track of the score, and they take selfies of you before you start bowling. This was a hit among kids and adults! Adults were kept happy with local beers on tap.

+1 for skeeball! Would be nice if they were able to get some pinball machines too.

Overall the place is really nice, upscale and modern and have a variety of activities. The bar and table area is nice and the arcade is fun. The downfall is the way the bowling seating area is set up, 2 lanes have 2 couches set up in a semi circle and both lanes share one table. Great idea if you have a big family or group and you need two lanes however we were placed beside a family with 5 kids. Not only was it extremely uncomfortable as we had to watch our drinks as the children were close to spilling them constantly but we just felt uncomfortably close to the other family. It made our overall bowling experience a let down.

Went to Uptown Alley for a Bachelor Party, had a wonderful experience, really great guys behind the bar and pretty decent pub grub! Would definitely go back.

Extremely poor service from waitress in the glow bowling area. I sat at a table for 45 minutes before she even brought a menu. Then she never came back to ask for my order. I asked again for another menu so I could order & well that never happened. The pizza my daughter order was tasteless & hard. Never going back

So much fun! Great atmosphere for everyone. Big groups, kids birthday parties or even just a date night. The food is really good as well and the staff is very nice. Definitely will be back

Sharing the side by side lanes with strangers makes for a cosy experience. Food is, what it is, for a bowling alley. Never tested the arcade.

Kids were having a lot of fun at this place. Lots of kids in the arcade having a great time. The bowling alley was all booked up. I would strongly suggest to make a reservation because you don't know how busy it will be when you arrive. There bowling alley has the most high tech gadgetry I've ever seen. They had lots of cool animations on the screen that you can choose. They don't play 80s/90s music. It was all newer stuff for the kids in one side, and on the other side we could hear the jets game live. Definitely a lot of fun, butt it was also pricey. It cost 60 bucks on a Friday night for 90 minutes. It's not something I can do that often.

We had a great time on our double date! You can choose different bowling games! There is access for those who use wheel chairs. Plus you can have a drink while bowling plus there are arcades for the kids! And a laser tag game room! There's a parking lot of course. It's awesome! Oh yeah and you can order food!

Cons: Arcade is a little small compared to the space. Not a fan of the hospital/Walmart bright lighting. Kinda kills the vibe. They do not enforce shoes taken off at door, so the bowling shoes get full of sand and dirt which makes bowling slippery. Pros: There are quite a few games new to Winnipeg. And unlike St. Vital not all out of order, which is a pro. They are true to their advertisement, they do have some pretty good prizes at their redemption centre.

New bowling alley the system had alot of glitches and the computer timed out of both games before we finished. On the plus side the food was good, large portions.

Went to uptown Alley wanting to bowl. I've been excited to visit this Family Fun Place. Much to my surprise I was not impressed with the bar atmosphere.
I understand people enjoy a drink while bowling but I was hoping that it would be more discreet like other bowling alleys. I felt like I walked into a night club not a family fun place.

Why don't you have an adult only side, with the full bar and one side without the full bar.
The facility is beautiful but the bar atmosphere really frustrated me.

I see this as a problem for teens. How are you going to control under aged drinking? If a group of teens come in and 1 is 18 and buys for the group's how will you know? I didn't see anyone walking around the bowling lanes monitoring this.

I'm sad because I really have come to enjoy bowling. We go to other bowling alleys and it's not focused on a bar atmosphere, yes alcohol is served but not like this.
I was also not greeted when I walked through by any of the staff. This is not my experience at any other bowling alley in Winnipeg. This was also a disappointment to me, customer service is something I look for in businesses.
I wish you luck with your business but can't say I'll be returning.

This place is fine. It's like going to a barbershop but with maybe a dozen arcade games, laser tag, and some pretty glitchy bowling, and no barber

Went to bowl with a group of friends the other night and was surprised that no one asked that we (or anyone else for that matter) take our salty, sandy, wet outdoor shoes off before entering either bowling area. The lanes and the floor of the sitting area were so dirty that a few people fell while bowling.

On the plus side, the staff are happy and friendly. The bowling systems are brand new and give you more options than just your standard 5 pin game. We paid for 2 hours of lane time and got just a little over 3 games in. The place was packed on a Sunday night, so they must be doing something right!

Great time wasters when you and your friends want to go out and have a few drinks while you bowl. And possibly hit up a few arcade machines in the meantime. I never tried the laser tag yet though.

Loving the new space. A lot of people can be here and you don't even notice. Staff are super helpful, the over sized tables are perfect. You don't feel as though you are on top of each other. You can spread out and enjoy while being able to take in the action around you.

This place is a lot of fun. With bowling, laser tag, and an arcade there are many different things to do. The food here I have only had once and it was ok, nothing I would go out of my way for but it was good for the fact that it's in a bowling alley.

Will definitely be returning soon! I came here to celebrate New Years Eve and had a great time. The bowling screens had a ton of fun themes to choose from, the sitting area by the lanes are spacious and comfortable and the staff were friendly and efficient. One of the staff (owner perhaps?) came out and distributed hats and noise makers for the count down, which was really nice of him! Good was great, a little on the pricey side, but definitely worth it. Following a few bowling games we played some laser tag and had a blast as well. My only complaint with that though, was it seemed a little unorganized when it came to waiting for our turn to play laser tag. There isn't really a designated waiting area, and there is no way to tell how many other groups were ahead of us. Other than that, great experience here and will definitely be coming again. Cheers!

We thought we would check things out. Very inviting atmosphere. Found the games to be to quick and not worth the money even games you typically enjoy like skee ball lasted all of 30 seconds and done. Food was too expensive and lack of healthier options such as just carrots and cellery or other low cal options would be good. Overall fun but not ideal for a low key low expense family evening.

Fun place specially if you r going in groups or with kids. So many games available and small baar and restaurant as well. I enjoyed my trip.

Bowling here was so much fun! My family and I did NYE here but I also have gone with my cousins to bowl before 8: 30pm (there's a good deal for bowling if you go before that time!) The arcade has lots of fun games and it's nice that our tickets don't expire so we can save up for a prize we really want. My cousins and I split a poutine and it was decent for the price! (Just under $7 and the gravy is tasty!) Lots of parking out front. I'm glad the owners of Academy built this great space!

We didn't think we would need a reservation, but we were wrong. So unfortunately we couldn't bowl. Make sure you have one. Ended up spending an hour in the arcade anyways.
