Vic's Market

Visited Vic's Market for the first time recently and totally blown away by the store. Awesome selection of delectable food types from fresh garden vegetables, fruit, meat, deli, frozen.the list goes on. Great selection of foods from around the world too - a goodies heaven. I highly recommend and am already planning the next trip there!

Best cherries and cinnamon buns in the city! Love the offerings and local selection, and what a beautiful & clean new store!

Owner is an extremely rude. I have never been treated so poorly by a business. I will never give this man my business as he can't treat people with human decency.

Love the new store. Very clean and intuitive layout. Nice selection of chicken products for our “no meat” eater. Will be back for dinner options in the next few days.

I have to say I liked the old store better with the cozyness and friendlier atmosphere. The new store feels more like a warehouse and nobody was there to great you or to ask questions. The prices have also increased alot, probably to pay their rent. You can find alot of the products and good produce elsewhere. They don't take credit either. I won't be shopping there anymore.
Ps. I bought a container of clam chowder soup for 10.99 and there were no clams in it! I had to buy a can of clams to add. Rip off.

Definitely a great place to find fresh groceries and nice local options. I go enjoy some things like the chicken fingers and lamb burgers. Prices certainly at higher but the food does taste better and fresh too. Hard to match their Berries too.

Great little market. Staff was friendly and helpful. Seemed to have a few gluten free/lactose free products that I was looking for. Nice flowers, I like that these are a bit different variety than see in typical grocery stores. I heard a lot of good things about this market and food from a family member and decided to finally check it out. It is pricey but I believe food quality is much better, as when I come and visit my family their fruits and veggies and other local foods taste amazing.
Yes, pricier than your regular supermarket, but you get what you pay for as many said before me.

This market is spectacular. Good assortment. Great quality, despite COVID and supply issues. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Prices might be marginally higher than at the big box chain grocers but well worth it.

Freshness galore! The fruits and veggies at this store are always fresh, unlike the large supermarkets. Vic's also has a deli and lots of speciality cheeses, pasta and frozen food. The prices are expensive but the quality worth it.

A great place to get fresh local produce, meats and more. Vic's cherry tomatoes are so sweet and tasty! The different greens I get there stay fresh for longer than from other places, tender kale and spinach, buttery salad greens! Staff are also friendly and helpful. Prices are fair for the quality offered.

One of the few places in the city to get Ontario peaches, and they are delish! The staff are always super friendly and very helpful.

Love this place. I live very close, so I go once a week at least. Really love the selection of foods you can't find easily elsewhere, and I always find some interesting new thing to try everytime I'm there!

Great selection! It's a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. I love that we can find fruit n veg varieties not available in other markets and the staff are super helpful. It's nice and small so you don't have to walk miles to find what you need

This is a great store hidden on Pembina. They always have a great selection of great produce as well as many local sauces. I don’t believe they take credit card so bring debit or cash.

Love the quality produce, local meats, fresh bread, amazing staff and everything is very neat and organized. If there hours worked better for me, this would be my go to grocery.

Never disappointed, the deli and meats counter is one of the best. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good location.

A nice throwback grocery store. Knowledgeable staff, produce is always fresh and a reasonable price, good deli selection. On the pricier side they have free range organic beef and chickens, a small frozen foods section, Morden's Chocolate, and imported goods.

My boyfriend introduced me to this little grocery store and I love it! All the produce is always SO fresh, the staff is friendly, and they have a large selection of sauces, spices, jams, cheeses, etc that you won’t find in your local Walmart. 10/10 if you like to cook like I do and prefer to use quality fresh ingredients, this is the place for you!

Easily the best place for fresh produce in this part of the city. Staff are friendly and know their stuff.

I'm from France where we have lots of fresh vegetables and fruits and so many markets with the tastiest products direct from producers that are cheap. When I came to live in Winnipeg I was told about this place where I could finally find some good vegetables and fruits. I came and tried it out and it was true! I found good quality stuff, and even if it is much more expensive than in France with our fresh market culture, I don't mind at all paying the price.
When I came, I also thought I would find the "spirit" of markets in the store: friendly people, relaxed, open minded, smiling people etc. Luckily, Nick and the owner are very friendly and represent the spirit I had hoped to find. However, I have had a few bad experiences with women working at the cashier.every time I came, I spend a lot of money, and every time after leaving the cashier, I told myself I ll never come again to this store: my experiences were an insult to all the values of what a market represents. They do not smile, they have so much attitude, and they give the general impression that you are bothering them and that the only thing that they care about is to finish the day and not be bothered by customers. As an exemple (which this review is about), I had a 200$ bill a few days ago and we had so much stuff on the counter, and 2 times I thought she had already scanned the products so I put them in my bag, and she looked at me like I was trying to steal them (with an over 200$ bill.) and you could see in her eyes that she almost wanted to punch me in the face. That was very disrespectful, and it has been a few times that my boyfriend and I told ourselves that the cashier had a lot of attitude, so we shouldn't come back again, because having that kind of services, we rather go the a grocery store, which is very sad. Also, on two occasions, I had to explain that my French visa DEBIT card (which says debit on it) was not a credit card: with the cashiers arguing with me in a ton that made it seem I was stupid. Please, owners, try and spread your positive energy throughout your staff.

The produce and deli are great, the selection of prepared foods is wonderful and ever-expanding (thanks, Nick!), and if they don't carry something they'll happily bring in a case and see if it sells.
But that's only a small part of why go there. I love the fact that I can shop where everybody knows my six-year-old by name (and Scott chased me down in the parking lot to send me home with a dozen roses the first time I shopped there after he was born!) and takes the time to chat with him on those occasions he is with me when I shop. I love the fact that when somebody asks "How are you,? " they wait for an an answer, and that I know something their lives, and they of mine.

Always friendly & helpful staff and an amazing selection of fresh produce, and other local grocery items at good value! It's been wonderful watching this neighborhood business grow & thrive over the decades!

Produce is of great quality and lasts much longer in the fridge. Price is par with big retailers and service is better.

Pricey at times. But all local. Bright. Clean. Friendly staff. A destination for fruit and vegetables and more.

Don't know why we've never been in this place as apparently it's been around for a very long time.so many things to choose from.veggies, fruits, plants, pastas, sauces, great deli, fresh and frozen products.if you can't find what you want I'm sure they will find it for you.excellent friendly, knowledgeable service.lots of parking

Clean, roomy store with lots of variety.
Pricing is fair and staff personable.
Only quality miss I noted were the 'baby carrots'
